  I have a "small" enterprise application, aspnet mvc 3 + entity framework with POCO entity and repository pattern. I structured the solution in 4 projects: POCO entities Domain model Services web application When the application performs a query on the database, use one of the services provided, the service uses the repository and the small classes, as a result I have some dynamic proxy objects that I would like to convert in my domain entities, before using them in mvc views, but I do not know how. Dovrebber be set as the translator? This approach is reasonable?

  If a smart device project is set to target CF 2.0, Windows CE 5.0, should this same application run on Windows Mobile 6 with CF 3.5 installed? I was able to install it (the CF 2 app), but when running received an error stating that the assemblies could not be loaded and that CF might not be installed. This has led me to belive that smart device projects wil ONLY work on the framework they target, not any versions lower or greater. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can see that generating SQL (delta) script files is an option, but is there no way of running the migrations programmatically on app start up?   Hi, In entity framework is there a way to have a default value for a column such that Linq to Entity won't require this parameter when constructing a new object? For example I've marked on column in the EF designer with a default value (I typed in "All" as it was a string). But if I try to construct a new record and not specify this parameter I still get a FOREIGN KEY constraint exception. The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_FunctionalityTypeInterfaceRelationship"

  I would like to host a service on a WinCE device. The WinCE device is the host which can be accessed(control and data acquisition) by multiple clients (PC or WinCE) over serial port, TCP, USB etc. I was considering using Protocol Buffers for serialization on the wire. It would be ideal to use WCF or remoting but as far as I see they are not implement on the Compact Framework. Anyone have any ideas how this can be achieved.

• Concurrency checking in Entity Framework with stored procedures while deleting

  Hi, My UPDATE and DELETE logic are in stored procedures. I've built an entity framework model with mappings to these procedures. In spUpdate I return the new timestamp column so the EF could detect concurrency conflicts. It works fine. I have a problem with the spDelete because I don't see mappings for return values in the "delete function" row. How to check concurrency in this example?

  The Zend Tutorial lists many assertions to check the output generated by a request. http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.test.phpunit.html But they all seem to assume that the output is html. I need to test json output instead. Are there any assertions helpful to check json, or is there at least a generic way to make assertions against the output? Anything that doesn't rely on the request outputting html?
