  • Mysql-how to update the "domain.com" in "[email protected]"

    Hi there, In my database I have a lot of users who've misspelled their e-mail address. This in turn causes my postfix to bounce a lot of mails when sending the newsletter. Forms include (but are not limited to) "yaho.com", "yahho .com" etc. Very annoying! So i have been trying to update those record to the correct value. After executing select email from users where email like '%@yaho%' and email not like '%yahoo%'; and getting the list, I'm stuck because I do not know how to update only the yaho part. I need the username to be left intact. So I thought I would just dump the database and use vim to replace, but I cannot escape the @ symbol.. BTW, how do I select all email addresses written in CAPS? select upper(email) from users; would just transform everything into CAPS, whereas I just needed to find out the already-written-in-CAPS mails.

    When I try to launch the Plesk administration page of you server I get the following error: ERROR: PleskMainDBException MySQL query failed: MySQL server has gone away The MySQL Server is working well. Although it seems that the plesk database is somehow corrupt and any action on this database results in a restart of the mysql process, so even queries to other databases on the same MySQL server will be lost. If I try to connect to the plesk database using phpMyAdmin, I can only see the number of tables, the database had originally. But I am not able to open the tables listing. As soon as I try it, the mysql process crashes again. Trying to connect to the database using ssh works. I can even run a SELECT statement against any table an get a result. I don't know if it is an plesk error or an error of the psa database or even the MySQL server. Can you give me any tips on how to recover the plesk system. Should I try to repair the Plesk installation before. And if so, how can I do it and will all my settings get lost doing it? EDIT: Trying to dump the database, I get the following error: mysqldump: Got error: 2013: Lost connection to MySQL server during query when using LOCK TABLES EDIT: I could find out, that the table 'data_bases' is responsible for the crash of the MySQL server process. But trying to repair it using a REPAIR TABLE statement doesn't work. EDIT: I now dropped the whole database and restored it from a dump. But why I try to recover the data_bases table I get the following error: ERROR 1005 (HY000) at line 24: Can't create table './psa/data_bases.frm' (errno: 121) I am not able to create the table again. Somewhere in the MySQL system there is still some information about this table. I tested the same thing locally. If I just delete the table files and then try to create the table again I get the same error. If I drop the table through MySQL, I can create the table again afterwards. But trying to drop the table using MySQL the whole MySQL system crashed. Is there any way to solve that issue?

    Hi, I have a submission form on my website (index.php) and I have the data(user submissions) being stored into a MySQL database. Right now, I have the user submitting a post and then the page directs them to an update.php which shows what they inputed. However, I want all of the data in the database in MySQL to be shown on the index.php. It's a lot like a comment system. User submits a post... and sees their post above the other submitted posts all on the same page. I think I'm missing AJAX... ?     The stored procedure builds without any problem. The purpose of this is to take backup of selected tables to a script file. when the SP returns a value {Insert statements}.   • DataReader is not returning results from a MySQL Stored Proc

    I have a stored proc in MySQL (5.5) that I'm calling from a C# application (using MySQL.Data v6.4.4.0). I have a bunch of other procs that work fine, but this is not returning any results, the data reader says the result set is empty. The proc does a couple of inserts & an update inside a transaction then selects 2 local variables to return. The inserts & update are happening, but the select is not returning. When I run the proc manually it works, gives a single row with the two fields, but the data reader is empty.     Hi, I have two tables. they looks like as follows: Id (int) Tags char(128). the column Tags in table A does not have value. It is empty. The column Tags in table B has value. What I want to copy the Tags in table B to corresponding place of table A. the mapping is based on Id. My sql query is: update A INNER JOIN B set A.Tags = B.Tags where A.Id = B.Id There are about 2,000,000 rows in table A, and 50,000 rows in table B. The update seems very slow.... Could anyone tell me how to make it run faster?

    I work for a small business, and I am the "IT Department". I also happen to be a summer intern, so after I leave the number of IT staff will be 0 for an indefinite period of time. I need a place where I can reliably put up the company's website as well as the mySQL+PHP backend. Good redundancy is a plus, as well as easy administration for my IT-challenged colleagues. Managed hosting would be good, so the PHP versions can update without my company having to hire an admin. EDIT: The company already has a mySQL+PHP server running locally which hosts the existing website. My assignment is to find a remote server where the latest versions of mySQL+PHP will be maintained and where there is a very small chance of unintended downtime. Can you recommend anything?

How do I get mysqld to run at startup, and why do I need to run it as user mysql. Can I change it to run as root ?   • MySQL port forwarding

    I am trying to help a colleague to connect to my MySQL server. However the situation is a bit special, and here's why (let's call him person A and me, person B): Person A has a PC, on which he has a virtual machine, which is in the same network as the actual PC he's running. However person A is also in the same network with person B (a different network). I want the site that lives on A's VM to be able to connect to the MySQL server on B's PC. For this I've thought a port forwarding would be appropriate: from ip-of-person-A:3306 to ip-of-person-B:3306. This way the site would connect to the IP of the PC it's living on (not the VM), which would forward to A's MySQL. I've seen several examples of port forwarding, but I don't think it's what I need, from what I've seen, it's kind of the opposite. So would something like this be achievable?

    I need to install the latest versions of apache, php and mysql that are available on their websites, but the problem is that apt repositories don't have these updates versions yet. Versions that I want: Apache 2.4.4, PHP 5.4.16 and MySQL 5.6.12. Versions available via apt: Apache 2.2.22, PHP 5.4.15, MySQL 5.5.31. Ubuntu doesn't support the above versions of packages. Please, I want help! Thanks! P.S. Tasksel also doesn't have these versions of packages yet.
