  • "Invalid signature file" when attempting to run a .jar

    - by oskar
My java program is packaged in a jar file and makes use of an external jar library, bouncy castle. My code compiles fine, but running the jar leads to the following error: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.SecurityException: Invalid signature file digest for Manifest main attributes I've googled for over an hour searching for an explanation and found very little of value. If anyone has seen this error before and could offer some help, I would be obliged.

  • Running Jar file in Windows

    - by BlackPanther
I have a "helloworld.jar" file. For running a JAR file I am using a command-line window and executing the following command: java -jar helloworld.jar By using this command I can execute the JAR file. But instead of doing it in a command-line window, I want to execute the JAR file if I double click on the JAR file. I did some Google search for this. But I cannot do this. For this do I need to install any software? Can any one provide me help on this?

While exporting i am exporting all resources (meants this jar files also.) But still i am getting noclassdeffound error when my application tries to load any one of the jar included. • Debugging with only the .exe

    - by Franklin Albricias
HI: I've a Delphi 7 program that I wrote many years ago, but I've lost the source code. It's a small program but very useful for me. I've tried to 'install' it again in a new Windows XP computer, just copying the folder with de data (.db paradox files), and configured the BDE connection. When the programm starts I receive an "Unknown exception" and halts. I've no idea why this happens, and can't debug cause the lost source code. I've tried in another computer with the same results. Any suggestions or ideas? What do you do in a situation like this? Thanks in advance.

  • Python - drag file into .exe to run script

    - by PPTim

Currently I have it running as a console application (compiled with py2exe) and prompts the user for the directory path through raw_input(). How do i make it such that I can drag & drop my text file directly into the .exe of the python script? Thanks,

  • Including hibernate jar dependencies in ant build

    - by Patrick
Hi, I'm trying to compile a runnable jar-file for a project that makes use of hibernate. I'm trying to construct an ant build.xml file to streamline my build process, but I'm having troubles with the inclusion of the hibernate3.jar inside the final jar-file. If I run the ant script I manage to include all my library jars, and they are put in the final jar-file's root. When I run the jar-file I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/hibernate/Session error. If I make use of the built-in export to jar in Eclipse, it works only if I choose "extract required libraries into jar". But that bloats the jar, and includes too much of my project (i.e. unit tests). Below is my generated manifest: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Main-Class: main.ServerImpl Class-Path: ./ antlr-2.7.6.jar commons-collections-3.1.jar dom4j-1.6.1.jar hibernate3.jar javassist-3.9.0.GA.jar jta-1.1.jar slf4j-api-1.5.11.jar slf4j-simple-1.5.11.jar mysql-connector-java-5.1.12-bin.jar rmiio-2.0.2.jar commons-logging-1.1.1.jar And the part of the build.xml looks like this: <target name="dist" depends="compile" description="Generates the Distribution Jar(s)"> <mkdir dir="${dist.dir}" /> <jar destfile="${dist.dir}/${dist.file.name}.jar" basedir="${build.prod.dir}" filesetmanifest="mergewithoutmain"> <manifest> <attribute name="Main-Class" value="${main.class}" /> <attribute name="Class-Path" value="./ ${manifest.classpath} " /> <attribute name="Implementation-Title" value="${app.name}" /> <attribute name="Implementation-Version" value="${app.version}" /> <attribute name="Implementation-Vendor" value="${app.vendor}" /> </manifest> <zipfileset refid="hibernatefiles" /> <zipfileset refid="slf4jfiles" /> <zipfileset refid="mysqlfiles" /> <zipfileset refid="commonsloggingfiles" /> <zipfileset refid="rmiiofiles" /> </jar> </target> The refids' for the zipfilesets point to the directories in a library directory lib in the root of the project. The manifest.classpath-variable takes the classpath of all those library jar-files, and flattens them with pathconvert and mapper. I've also tried to set the manifest classpath to ".", "./" and only the library jar, but to no difference at all. I'm hoping there's a simple remedy to my problems...

  • Parsing plain Win32 PE File (Exe/DLL) in .NET

    - by Usman
I need to parse plain Win32 DLL/Exe and need to get all imports and exports from it and to show it on console or GUI(say Win Forms). Is it possible to parse Win32 DLL/Exe in C#.NET, read its export table, import table and get managed types from it. As its unmanaged PE(.NET doesn't allows you to convert unmanaged PE files to managed .NET assemblies, only it generates COM managed assemblies). So how to parse export and import tables of PE files and take all methods(signatures from it) in managed form.(e.g if char* as argument, it should display as IntPtr)

  • Modify Emdeded String in C# compiled exe

    - by nitefrog
I have an issue where I need to be able to have a compiled exe ( .net 3.5 c# ) that I will make copies of to distribute that will need to change a key for example before the exe is sent out. I cannot compile each time a new exe is needed. This is a thin client that will be used as part of a registration process. Is it possible to add a entry to a resource file with a blank value then when a request comes in have another application grab the blank default thin client, copy it, populate the blank value with the data needed. If yes how? If no do you have any ideas? I have been scratching my head for a few days now and the limitation as due to the boundaries I am required to work in. The other idea I has was to inject the value into a method, which I have no idea how I would even attempt that. Thanks.

  • "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada", although specified correctly in the MANIFEST.MF

    - by Bernhard V
Hi, I'm trying to run a .jar file with the command "java -jar Filename.jar", but I am always getting an error saying "Could not find the main class: bla.bla.yada". I build the whole application with Maven and specified a Main-Class in the MANIFEST.MF. The path in the file is correct and the class also exists at the right location in the jar. The ending .class is omitted in the MANIFEST.MF. I hope this is correct. Do you have any other hints?

  • How to compile runnable jar from packages?

    - by sacamano
Hey. My java application has got a package structure similar to this; src/com/name/app , src/com/name/app/do , src/com/name/utils/db and so on. How would I go about compiling java files in these directories in to a runnable jar? I need to package required libraries into the generated JAR (jdbc). I've always done these things in Eclipse but now I need to supply a couple of people with a way to compile the repository without the use of eclipse and I was thinking of making a makefile or a script that invokes the necessary javac pattern. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Viewing an EXE File

    - by Steve
I was attempting to install an exe that requires a serial number before the install, which the vendor has not provided to us yet. This got my wheels turning about whether there is any information that can be gained from viewing an exe using a hex editor/VI/etc? Using VI to view an exe, I can see some sections of plain text, but it is difficult to determine what it refers to without any context around it. Is it possible to determine any information by reading an exe? Thanks

  • Getting input and output from a jar file run from java class?

    - by Jack L.
Hi, I have a jar file that runs this code: public class InputOutput { /** * @param args * @throws IOException */ public static void main(String[] args) throws IOException { boolean cont = true; BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); while (cont) { System.out.print("Input something: "); String temp = in.readLine(); if (temp.equals("end")) { cont = false; System.out.println("Terminated."); } else System.out.println(temp); } } } I want to program another java class that executes this jar file and can get the input and send output to it. Is it possible? The current code I have is this but it is not working: public class JarTest { /** * Test input and output of jar files * @author Jack */ public static void main(String[] args) { try { Process io = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("java -jar InputOutput.jar"); BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(io.getInputStream())); OutputStreamWriter out = new OutputStreamWriter(io.getOutputStream()); boolean cont = true; BufferedReader consolein = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(System.in)); while (cont) { String temp = consolein.readLine(); out.write(temp); System.out.println(in.readLine()); } } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } } Thanks for your help

  • Creating secure .exe files in C#

    - by George
Hi, I have heard some mutterings about C# being quite easy to "crack" and/or reverse engineer. Is this the case and if so, how can I go about preventing this, if possible ? Or at least making it more difficult ? Thanks, George.

  • How to programatically read native DLL imports in C#?

    - by Eric
The large hunk of C# code below is intended to print the imports of a native DLL. I copied it from from this link and modified it very slightly, just to use LoadLibraryEx as Mike Woodring does here. I find that when I call the Foo.Test method with the original example's target, MSCOREE.DLL, it prints all the imports fine. But when I use other dlls like GDI32.DLL or WSOCK32.DLL the imports do not get printed. What's missing from this code that would let it print all the imports as, for example, DUMPBIN.EXE does? (Is there a hint I'm not grokking in the original comment that says, "using mscoree.dll as an example as it doesnt export any thing"?) Here's the extract that just shows how it's being invoked: public static void Test() { // WORKS: var path = @"c:\windows\system32\mscoree.dll"; // NO ERRORS, BUT NO IMPORTS PRINTED EITHER: //var path = @"c:\windows\system32\gdi32.dll"; //var path = @"c:\windows\system32\wsock32.dll"; var hLib = LoadLibraryEx(path, 0, DONT_RESOLVE_DLL_REFERENCES | LOAD_IGNORE_CODE_AUTHZ_LEVEL); TestImports(hLib, true); } And here is the whole code example: namespace PETest2 { [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)] public unsafe struct IMAGE_IMPORT_BY_NAME { [FieldOffset(0)] public ushort Hint; [FieldOffset(2)] public fixed char Name[1]; } [StructLayout(LayoutKind.Explicit)] public struct IMAGE_IMPORT_DESCRIPTOR { #region union /// <summary> /// CSharp doesnt really support unions, but they can be emulated by a field offset 0 /// </summary> [FieldOffset(0)] public uint Characteristics; • How To Store Files In An EXE C#

    - by S3THST4
Alright, so I'm working on programming my own installer in C#, and what I'd like to do is something along the lines of put the files in the .exe, so I can do File.Copy(file, filedir); Or, if this isn't possible, is there another way of doing what I am attempting to do? Thank you in advance. ~Seth

  • What languages allow cross-platform native executables to be created?

    - by JT
I'm frustrated to discover that Java lacks an acceptable solution for creating programs that will run via double-click. Other than .NET for Windows, what modern and high-level programming languages can I write code in that can be compiled for various platforms and run as a native/binary in each (Windows, Linux, OSX (optional)) Assuming I wanted to write code in python, for instance, is there a cohesive way that I could distribute my software which wouldn't require users to do anything special to get it to run? I want to write and distribute software for computer-illiterate and Java has turned out to be a real pain in this respect.

  • Why does an EXE file that does *nothing* contain so many dummy zero bytes?

    - by Lambert
Hi, I've compiled a C file that does absolutely nothing (just a main that returns... not even a "Hello, world" gets printed), and I've compiled it with various compilers (MinGW GCC, Visual C++, Windows DDK, etc.). All of them link with the C runtime, which is standard. But what I don't get is: When I open up the file in a hex editor (or a disassembler), why do I see that almost half of the 16 KB is just huge sections of either 0x00 bytes or 0xCC bytes? It seems rather ridiculous to me... is there any way to prevent these from occurring? And why are they there in the first place? Thank you!

  • Error: Unable to access jarfile Click-The-Block.jar

    - by AqueousSnake
I have made a simple game that I want to convert into a runnable jar so I can show others and launch it without Eclipse. In Eclipse I: Right clicked on Project Export Java Exectuable Jar File Launch Configuration: CTB (1) - Click The Block It made a jar with a MANIFEST.MF containing: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Class-Path: . Main-Class: uk.co.robertmerriman.ctb.main.CTB This was all extracted to my desktop in Click-The-Block.jar When I double click, nothing happens. When I type "java -jar Click-The-Block.jar" into CMD, I get the following error: Error: Unable to access jarfile Click-The-Block.jar.
