  Gyakran kapok kérdéseket az Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control licencelésével kapcsolatban, ezért az alábbiakban igyekszem összefoglalni a legfontosabb információkat. Az alábbi ismerteto nem teljes köru, mivel számos olyan termék van (Data Masking, Real Application Testing, Real User Experience Insight, Application Testing Suite), melyek kapcsolódnak az Enterprise Manager-hez, azonban licencelésük másképp muködik. Az Enterprise Manager licenceléssel kapcsolatban az elsodleges információ forrás a Licensing Information doksi. A legfontosabb információk: - A Grid Control keretrendszer (Agent-ek és a konzol az alapfunkciókkal - lásd késobb) önmagában ingyenes, sot restricted-use licencet tartalmaz Oracle Database-re, amennyiben azt csak az Oracle Management Repository céljára használják. Fontos, hogy ez nem tartalmaz egyéb Oracle Database opciókat, mint például a RAC! Hasonlóképpen az Oracle WebLogic Server is kizárólagosan az Oracle Management Server kiszolgálására használható ingyenesen, de fürtözés nélkül. - A Grid Control alapfunkcionalitása: Discovery, Groups, Job Scheduling, Real time availability, Performance & monitoring, Target Home Pages, Administration, Console alerts - Az alapfunkcionalitás felügyelt termékektol függoen bovítheto Management Pack, Plug-in és Connector termékekkel. Alapvetoen ezek licencelése mindig a monitorozott, felügyelt termék licenceléséhez kell, hogy igazodjon. Tehát például ha 2 adatbázis szerverre szeretnénk Diagnostic Pack-ek használni, akkor mindkettore kell CPU vagy NUP (Named User Plus) licencet vásárolni, attól függoen az adatbázis maga milyen licenccel rendelkezik. Megjegyzem ezt a konkrét Management Pack-ek kizárólag Enterprise Edition Database esetén lehet alkalmazni. - Számos fizetos funkció külön telepítés nélkül is elérheto a Grid Control felületén (ugyanez igaz Database Control-ra és Fusion Middleware Control-ra is). Hogy elkerüljük a licenc sértést, érdemes ellenorízni hogy az adott környezetben mely Management Pack-ek használata került bekapcsolásra. Ezt a Grid Control Setup menüjében a Management Pack Access almenüben tehetjük meg legegyszerubben. Részleteseb leírás itt található. Database Diagnostic és Tuning Pack adatbázis szintu kikapcsolására is lehetoség van, hogy parancssorból se lehessen használni oket, errol korábban már írtam. • How Service Component Architecture (SCA) Can Be Incorporated Into Existing Enterprise Systems

  After viewing Rob High’s presentation “The SOA Component Model” hosted on InfoQ.com, I can foresee how Service Component Architecture (SCA) can be incorporated in to an existing enterprise. According to IBM’s DeveloperWorks website, SCA is a set of conditions which outline a model for constructing applications/systems using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA). In addition, SCA builds on open standards such as Web services. In the future, I can easily see how some large IT shops could potently divide development teams or work groups up into Component/Data Object Groups, and Standard Development Groups. The Component/Data Object Group would only work on creating and maintaining components that are reused throughout the entire enterprise. The Standard Development Group would work on new and existing projects that incorporate the use of various components to accomplish various business tasks. In my opinion the incorporation of SCA in to any IT department will initially slow down the number of new features developed due to the time needed to create the new and loosely-coupled components. However once a company becomes more mature in its SCA process then the number of program features developed will greatly increase. • Google Chrome: XMLHttpRequest.send() not working while doing POST.

  I'm working on an application that allows the user to send a file using a form (a POST request), and that executes a series of GET requests while that file is being uploaded to gather information about the state of the upload. It works fine in IE and Firefox, but not so much in Chrome and Safari. The problem is that even though send() is called on the XMLHttpRequest object, nothing is being requested as can be seen in Fiddler. To be more specific, an event handler is placed on the "submit" event of the form, that places a timeout function call on the window: window.setTimeout(startPolling, 10); and in this function "startPolling" sequence is started that keeps firing GET requests to receive status updates from a web service that returns text/json that can be used to update the UI. Is this a limitation (perhaps security-wise?) on WebKit based browsers? Is this a Chrome bug? (I'm seeing the same behaviour in Safari though).

• Hide/ change width/ change position of UIButton based on device type

  I'm using the new in-app SMS features in my iPhone app, but obviously iPod Touches aren't able to send and receive SMS without support of a third party app. I know all well how to detect the device and how to hide a UIButton, but what I do not know is how to change the width of the others. Above are the three icons. The one on the far rights needs to be hidden on an iPod Touch, and the other two need to adjust size/ position to fill the remaining space. Any tips on programatically changing the position and width of a UIButton is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, I can read the file by creating an instance of Excel, but I rather not.. Any idea how I can read the xls using OleDb without making manual changes to the xls or by playing with ranges in a instanciated Excel? Regards, Michel

• iPhone Provisioning: What's it all about?

  Grepping around, I see that I'm not AT ALL alone in being... challenged... by the process of setting up an iPhone app, getting it to run, giving it my testers, and so on. I've gotten it to work. Somehow I emailed a copy or two to testers, and eventually got my li'l app into the store, and that was fine. But I can't say a really, deeply understand it! (And I don't do iDev every day. Even now my recollection of what I did is kind-of hazy.) I'm moderately capable of understanding things, if presented, well, you know, in a way I can understand. Can anyone point me to a crystal clear explanation of what provisioning actually is? I feel that if I understood it, the recipes to do it would be obvious. Thanks!

• Silently import a Certificate into a specific Certificate Store.

  Hi. I am attempting to import a Certificate into the Current User - Personal store using the command line: "importpfx -f [certificate name.p12] -p [password] -t USER -s Personal". It works, but for reasons I don't understand there are now two Personal stores under the Current User, and the imported certificate is in the new Personal store. When I try to connect to the website of [a well-known money transfer service], it fails. However, if I manually import the certificate using MMC into the original Personal store, it works. My question is: How can I force IMPORTPFX to import the certificate into the original Personal store, and how can I delete the new Personal store? Context: I need to do a silent import of certificates on 3000+ remote point-of-sale Windows XP devices, so it needs to be a silent install via PSEXEC (SysInternals). Thank you. Pieter.

• Flash Builder missing fundamental things

  All of a sudden Flash Builder 4 is missing all kinds of fundamental things and is generating incorrect errors. I've had the same issue yesterday, where I fixed it by downloading a new Flex SDK and importing that into FB. I did this again, but this time it fixed nothing. I don't think it's something I did, like removing critical references from the build path. The errors also appeared on projects I was not working on at the time. It occurs for ActionScript, Flex and Flex Library projects alike. • AS3 "Loader" progress immediately goes to 100%

  If you go to http://moederdagontbijtplacemat.nl/ you will see a progress bar. The application is loading a fairly large SWF from the server using the Loader class. Strangely enough, the progress bar immediately goes to 100% (but the loading still takes a while after that). The code is below, but you'll see it's basically too simple to break. It has worked when the application was on a different server, so I though maybe the new server wasn't sending the size of the large SWF in the http headers. Firebug does show a progress bar though, so that is not the case, the information should be available. • Prevent wsgi from modifying 401 responses.

  If I have the following pylons controller: def challange(self): response.status = '401 Unauthorized' return 'You are not logged in.' I would expect to see 'You are not logged in.' But I see : Unauthorized This server could not verify that you are authorized to access the document you requested. Either you supplied the wrong credentials (e.g., bad password), or your browser does not understand how to supply the credentials required. WSGI Server I have disabled the pylons error middleware. But the wsig server seems to be modifying the response. How do I stop this?
