    I'm running into an issue when trying to geolocate users whom are using blackberry devices. Currently there are a few checks that I go through to geolocate the individual the first, using the navigator paramater inside browsers. if(navigator.geolocation) if this fails then I have a backup using a free service (for testing) from maxmind: See Here Yet this doesn't return back the city at all either. I've then tried using the JSPI that google maps proviedes, and echoing out the google.loader.ClientLocation: if (google.loader.ClientLocation != null) { document.write("Your Location Is: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.address.city + ", " + google.loader.ClientLocation.address.region + " lat: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.latitude + " Long: " + google.loader.ClientLocation.longitude); } else { document.write("Your Location Was Not Detected By Google Loader"); } When this didn't work I tried following the google maps 3.0 detect location seen here: Detecting Location I've done all this after seeing this work correctly in google latitude.. so I know there has to be a way to get the location... any thoughts, ideas on what I could possibly try?   • Calling a method from within a django model save() override

    I'm overriding a django model save() method. Within the override I'm calling another method of the same class and instance which calculates one of the instance's fields based on other fields of the same instance. class MyClass(models.Model): field1 = models.FloatField() field2 = models.FloatField() field3 = models.FloatField() def calculateField1(self) self.field1 = self.field2 + self.field3 def save(self, *args, **kwargs): self.calculateField1() super(MyClass, self).save(*args, **kwargs) The override method is called when I change the model in admin. Alas I've discovered that within calculateField1() field2 and field3 have the values of the instance from before I edited them in admin. If I enter the instance again in admin and save again, only then field1 receives the correct value as field2 and field3 are already updated. Is this the correct behavior on django's side? If yes, then how can I use the new values within calculateField1? I cannot implement the calculation within the save() as calculateField1() actually quite long and I need it to be called from elsewhere.

    Here is my scenario. User fills out this large page which is dynamically created based off DB values. Those values can change. When the user fills out the page and hits submit we want to save a copy of the page as html on the server, this way if the text or wording changes, when they go back to view their posted information, it is historically accurate. Also I CANNOT just request the data from the url because query string parameters are a big no no in this case. The key to pull the database info up (at its highest level) is all in session so I cant just request a url and save it. Thanks!

And when user wants to save his image it works like that: glReadPixels -> NSBitmapImageRep -> NSData -> Write to file This works too. Almost. With some images it is not working as it should work.     I'm trying to save (insert) parent object with a collection of child objects, all objects are new. I prefer to manually specify what to save\update and when so I do not use any cascade saves in mappings and flush sessions by myself. So basically I save this object graph like: session.Save(Parent) foreach (var child in Parent.Childs) { session.Save(child); } session.Flush() I expect this code to insert Parent row, then each child row, however NHibernate executes this SQL: INSERT INTO PARENT.... INSERT INTO CHILD .... UPDATE CHILD SET ParentId=@1 WHERE Id=@2 This update statement is absolutely unnecessary, ParentId was already set correctly in INSERT. How do I get rid of it? Performance is very important for me.

If I make a copy of a file in the solution explorer, that file is not included in the project file (.CSPROJ) after Pre_Rake() runs. I would still have to press CTRL-SHIFT-S or File - Save All. So, how to Save All with a Visual Studio Macro?

  • Real time location tracking - windows program or browser based?

    I want to track a few hundred, maybe a few thousand people in real time. Let's say that the hardware aspects are sorted out and I can get the data into a database. Now, I want to get it out and show it, in real-time. Weeeell ... "real-enough" time. Let's say that I want to draw a floorplan of a building and plot everyone every 1 to 5 seconds. (I might want to show only certain "kinds" of people at the click of a button; I will need datamining, etc, but let's stick with the worse case scenario). I am comfortable enough with PHP, though not this sort of thing. I personally would be happier with a windows app coded in Delphi, but the trend seems to be to make everything browser based. So, the question, I guess is whether a browser can handle this and whether there are compelling arguments for a windows-based or browser-based solution. If browser-based can handle this (displaying a few thousand data-points a second), and there are no overwhelming arguments for windows then I guess I will go for browser-based and learn a few new tricks. The obvious advantage being that I could also re-use a large part of my code for (vehicle) tracking on Google maps.

    hi, in a ModelForm I replaced a field by excluding it and adding a new one with the same name, as shown below in AddRestaurantForm. When saving the form with the code shown below, I get an error in form.save_m2m() ("Truncated incorrect DOUBLE value"), which seems to be due to the function to attempt to save the tag field, while it is excluded. Is the save_m2m() function supposed to save excluded fields? Is there anything wrong in my code?     I'm using HTML5 geolocation to collect the users lat / long and I need to figure out what their postal code is as well. I have a database of all the lat / long for each postal code in the US & Canada. How can I write a query to find out what their postal code is? Below, is an example of how the data is structured in the 'zips' table. Country PostalCode Latitude Longitude USA 0051 40.813078 -73.046388 USA 00616 18.426456 -66.673779 I can't do a 'SELECT PostalCode FROM zips WHERE Latitude = user.lat AND Longitude = user.long'. I believe I need to find the nearest lat / long. Any suggestions on how I can write this?

I also tried to use GPS_PROVIDER but it didnt work out. Yes i have all permissions in manifest. Map is able to load in if im not searhing for my loacation. Is it possible its NullPointer because before that i load some other coordinates in same class ? Maybe its emulator fault ? I can give extended code if needed. Can't they do a better job of coordinating these activities?
