  • System.Threading.ThreadstateException

    - by Yasindu
    Hi, I'm developing an adding for office powerpoint application. I'm trying to display a description of the object(Customized object) currently dropped on the powerpoint slide in design mode(Design mode of the powerpoint). When i click on my addin the related object description will be displayed on a tabbed window as the first tabpage. There is a button on the tab page, and when i click on it i need the description to get copied to windows clipboard. I tried this using clipboardclass it throws the following exception, System.Threading.ThreadstateException {"Current thread must be set to single thread apartment (STA) mode before OLE calls can be made. Ensure that your Main function has STAThreadAttribute marked on it."} Code for clipboard: Clipboard.Clear() Clipboard.SetText(lblObjectID.Text) I searched the net for a solution and got couple of answers like, 1. Put [STAThread] in the main function 2. Thread.CurrentThread.SetApartmentState(ApartmentState.STA) Immediately before your call to SetDataObject. But I'm not sure where to put the 1st one and the 2nd option didn't work. Can anyone help me please. Thanks.

  • Closing a hook that captures global input events

    - by Margus
    Intro Here is an example to illustrate the problem. Consider I am tracking and displaying mouse global current position and last click button and position to the user. Here is an image: To archive capturing click events on windows box, that would and will be sent to the other programs event messaging queue, I create a hook using winapi namely user32.dll library. This is outside JDK sandbox, so I use JNA to call the native library. This all works perfectly, but it does not close as I expect it to. My question is - How do I properly close following example program? Example source Code below is not fully written by Me, but taken from this question in Oracle forum and partly fixed. import java.awt.AWTException; import java.awt.Dimension; import java.awt.EventQueue; import java.awt.GridLayout; import java.awt.MouseInfo; import java.awt.Point; import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter; import java.awt.event.WindowEvent; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JLabel; import com.sun.jna.Native; import com.sun.jna.NativeLong; import com.sun.jna.Platform; import com.sun.jna.Structure; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.BaseTSD.ULONG_PTR; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.Kernel32; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.User32; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.HWND; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.LRESULT; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinDef.WPARAM; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.HHOOK; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.HOOKPROC; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.MSG; import com.sun.jna.platform.win32.WinUser.POINT; public class MouseExample { final JFrame jf; final JLabel jl1, jl2; final CWMouseHook mh; final Ticker jt; public class Ticker extends Thread { public boolean update = true; public void done() { update = false; } public void run() { try { Point p, l = MouseInfo.getPointerInfo().getLocation(); int i = 0; while (update == true) { try { p = MouseInfo.getPointerInfo().getLocation(); if (!p.equals(l)) { l = p; jl1.setText(new GlobalMouseClick(p.x, p.y) .toString()); } Thread.sleep(35); } catch (InterruptedException e) { e.printStackTrace(); return; } } } catch (Exception e) { update = false; } } } public MouseExample() throws AWTException, UnsupportedOperationException { this.jl1 = new JLabel("{}"); this.jl2 = new JLabel("{}"); this.jf = new JFrame(); this.jt = new Ticker(); this.jt.start(); this.mh = new CWMouseHook() { @Override public void globalClickEvent(GlobalMouseClick m) { jl2.setText(m.toString()); } }; mh.setMouseHook(); jf.setLayout(new GridLayout(2, 2)); jf.add(new JLabel("Position")); jf.add(jl1); jf.add(new JLabel("Last click")); jf.add(jl2); jf.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() { public void windowClosing(WindowEvent we) { mh.dispose(); jt.done(); jf.dispose(); } }); jf.setLocation(new Point(0, 0)); jf.setPreferredSize(new Dimension(200, 90)); jf.pack(); jf.setVisible(true); } public static class GlobalMouseClick { private char c; private int x, y; public GlobalMouseClick(char c, int x, int y) { super(); this.c = c; this.x = x; this.y = y; } public GlobalMouseClick(int x, int y) { super(); this.x = x; this.y = y; } public char getC() { return c; } public void setC(char c) { this.c = c; } public int getX() { return x; } public void setX(int x) { this.x = x; } public int getY() { return y; } public void setY(int y) { this.y = y; } @Override public String toString() { return (c != 0 ? c : "") + " [" + x + "," + y + "]"; } } public static class CWMouseHook { public User32 USER32INST; public CWMouseHook() throws UnsupportedOperationException { if (!Platform.isWindows()) { throw new UnsupportedOperationException( "Not supported on this platform."); } USER32INST = User32.INSTANCE; mouseHook = hookTheMouse(); Native.setProtected(true); } private static LowLevelMouseProc mouseHook; private HHOOK hhk; private boolean isHooked = false; public static final int WM_LBUTTONDOWN = 513; public static final int WM_LBUTTONUP = 514; public static final int WM_RBUTTONDOWN = 516; public static final int WM_RBUTTONUP = 517; public static final int WM_MBUTTONDOWN = 519; public static final int WM_MBUTTONUP = 520; public void dispose() { unsetMouseHook(); mousehook_thread = null; mouseHook = null; hhk = null; USER32INST = null; } public void unsetMouseHook() { isHooked = false; USER32INST.UnhookWindowsHookEx(hhk); System.out.println("Mouse hook is unset."); } public boolean isIsHooked() { return isHooked; } public void globalClickEvent(GlobalMouseClick m) { System.out.println(m); } private Thread mousehook_thread; public void setMouseHook() { mousehook_thread = new Thread(new Runnable() { @Override public void run() { try { if (!isHooked) { hhk = USER32INST.SetWindowsHookEx(14, mouseHook, Kernel32.INSTANCE.GetModuleHandle(null), 0); isHooked = true; System.out .println("Mouse hook is set.   • How to assign a table view controller to a table view on iPhone?

    - by Tattat
    I have a CharTableController, View and TableView on my IB. The CharTableController is using "CharTableController" in class identity. And this is how I implemented in the .h, and I want use the "CharTableController" to control the table only: @interface CharTableController : UITableViewController <UITableViewDelegate, UITableViewDataSource>{ // IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; NSArray *listData; } //@property (nonatomic, retain) IBOutlet UILabel *debugLabel; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSArray *listData; @end It is the .m: #import "CharTableController.h" @implementation CharTableController @synthesize listData; - (void)viewDidLoad { //NSLog(@"bulll"); // [debugLabel setText:@"success"]; NSArray *array = [[NSArray alloc] initWithObjects:@"A", @"B", @"C", @"D", @"E", nil]; self.listData = array; [array release]; [super viewDidLoad]; } - (NSInteger)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView numberOfRowsInSection:(NSInteger)section { return [self.listData count]; } - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *SimpleTableIdentifier = @"SimpleTableIdentifier"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier: SimpleTableIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:SimpleTableIdentifier] autorelease]; NSUInteger row = [indexPath row]; cell.textLabel.text = [listData objectAtIndex:row]; } return cell; } @end In the IB, I already assign the CharTableController's view to Table View in IB. And Table View is under the View, in IB. After I run the program, I can see the table view, but I can't see any char in the table view, why? What's wrong with my code? thz.

  • SWT: scrollable area within a tab

    - by DaveJohnston
    I am trying to add a scrollable area to my tabbed window. So far I have a CTabFolder in a shell. I have added 5 CTabItems to it and everything works as expected. On one of my CTabItems the contents are too big to fit on the screen so I would like to be able to scroll. The contents is a collection of Groups each containing various widgets. So the CTabFolder is created as follows: CTabFolder tabs = new CTabFolder(shell, SWT.BORDER); tabs.setSimple(false); tabs.setUnselectedImageVisible(false); tabs.setUnselectedCloseVisible(false); tabs.setMinimizeVisible(false); tabs.setMaximizeVisible(false); FormData tabsLayoutData = new FormData(); tabsLayoutData.top = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.left = new FormAttachment(0, 5); tabsLayoutData.bottom = new FormAttachment(92, 0); tabsLayoutData.right = new FormAttachment(100, -5); tabs.setLayoutData(tabsLayoutData); Then the CTabItem: CTabItem tab = new CTabItem(tabs, SWT.NONE); tab.setText("Role"); Then the contents: Composite tabArea = new Composite(tabs, SWT.V_SCROLL); tabArea.setLayout(new FormLayout()); tab.setControl(tabArea); So the groups contained within the tab are created with tabArea as the parent and everything appears as you would expect. The problem is though that the vertical scroll bar is always present but doesn't seem to do anything. The contents are chopped off at the bottom of the tabArea composite. Is there anything else I need to do to get the scrolling to work properly?

  • Turning a JSON list into a POJO

    - by Josh L
    I'm having trouble getting this bit of JSON into a POJO. I'm using Jackson configured like this: protected ThreadLocal<ObjectMapper> jparser = new ThreadLocal<ObjectMapper>(); public void receive(Object object) { try { if (object instanceof String && ((String)object).length() != 0) { ObjectDefinition t = null ; if (parserChoice==0) { if (jparser.get()==null) { jparser.set(new ObjectMapper()); } t = jparser.get().readValue((String)object, ObjectDefinition.class); } Object key = t.getKey(); if (key == null) return; transaction.put(key,t); } } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } Here's the JSON that needs to be turned into a POJO: { "id":"exampleID1", "entities":{ "tags":[ { "text":"textexample1", "indices":[ 2, 14 ] }, { "text":"textexample2", "indices":[ 31, 36 ] }, { "text":"textexample3", "indices":[ 37, 43 ] } ] } And lastly, here's what I currently have for the java class: protected Entities entities; @JsonIgnoreProperties(ignoreUnknown = true) protected class Entities { public Entities() {} protected Tags tags; @JsonIgnoreProperties(ignoreUnknown = true) protected class Tags { public Tags() {} protected String text; public String getText() { return text; } public void setText(String text) { this.text = text; } }; public Tags getTags() { return tags; } public void setTags(Tags tags) { this.tags = tags; } }; //Getters & Setters ... I've been able to translate the more simple objects into a POJO, but the list has me stumped. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Stuck on Object scope in Java

    - by ivor
    Hello, I'm working my way through an exercise to understand Java, and basically I need to merge the functionality of two classes into one app. I'm stuck on one area though - the referencing of objects across classes. What I have done is set up a gui in one class (test1), and this has a textfield in ie. chatLine = new JTextField(); in another class(test2), I was planning on leaving all the functionality in there and referencing the various gui elements set up in test1 - like this test1.chatLine I understand this level of referencing, I tested this by setting up a test method in the test2 class public static void testpass() { test1.testfield.setText("hello"); } I'm trying to understand how to implement the more complex functionality in test2 class though, specifically this existing code; test1.chatLine.addActionListener(new ActionAdapter() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) { String s = Game.chatLine.getText(); if (!s.equals("")) { appendToChatBox("OUTGOING: " + s + "\n"); Game.chatLine.selectAll(); // Send the string sendString(s); } } }); This is the bit I'm stuck on, if I should be able to do this - as it's failing on the compile, can I add the actionadapter stuff to the gui element thats sat in test1, but do this from test2 - I'm wondering if I'm trying to do something that's not possible. Hope this makes sense, I'm pretty confused over this - I'm trying to understand how the scope and referencing works. Ideally what i'm trying to achieve is one class that has all the main stuff in, the gui etc, then all the related functionality in the other class, and target the first class's gui elements with the results etc. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

  • accessing widgets inside a GWT element

    - by flyingcrab
    I want to access the text elements inside this textbox in GWT from the main method (where I call it like this) DialogBox aBox = newCandidatePop.buildNewElecPopup(); aBox.center(); aBox.getWidget(); MiscUiTools.newCandidateHandler(aBox.firstName, aBox.surName); in newCandidateHandler i want to attach a click handler to the two text boxes However, the above doesnt quite work - I cant get access to the aBox.firstName elements because they are static methods -- I am wondering what is best practice, how would you code something like this up? static TextBox firstName = new TextBox(); static TextBox surName = new TextBox(); static DialogBox box; // public newCandidatePop() { // box = buildNewElecPopup(); // } static public DialogBox buildNewElecPopup() { DialogBox box = new DialogBox(); box.setAutoHideEnabled(true); box.setText("Add a New Candidate"); box.setAnimationEnabled(true); box.setGlassEnabled(true); Grid dialogGrid = new Grid(2, 3); dialogGrid.setPixelSize(250 , 125); dialogGrid.setCellPadding(10); dialogGrid.setWidget(0, 0, new HTML("<strong>First Name</strong>")); dialogGrid.setWidget(0, 1, firstName); dialogGrid.setWidget(1, 0, new HTML("<strong>Surname</strong>")); dialogGrid.setWidget(1, 1, surName); box.add(dialogGrid); return box; }

    Good day. I have three layouts: first is the root, second and third lie in first. I try add TextView object in third layout and objects had been added in third layout (I saw it in debage mode) but this objects didn't showed on screen.     I do not know the reason why am i getting same values of different JSON date values. Here is my code for parsing date values in JSON date format: package com.jsondate.parsing; import java.text.SimpleDateFormat; import java.util.Date; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; import android.widget.TextView; public class JSONDateParsing extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ String myString; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); TextView tv = new TextView(this); //Date d = (new Date(1266029455L)); //Date d = (new Date(1266312467L)); Date d = (new Date(1266036226L)); //String s = d.getDate() + "-" + d.getMonth() + "-" + d.getYear() + d.getHours() + d.getMinutes() + d.getSeconds(); // SimpleDateFormat sdf=new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy MMM dd @ hh:mm aa"); //Toast.makeText(this, d.toString(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT); Log.e("Value:", d.toString()); myString = d.toString(); String []words = myString.split(" "); for(int i = 0;i < words.length; i++) Log.e("Value:", words[i]); myString = words[2] + "-" + words[1] + "-" + words[5] + " " + words[3]; tv.setText(myString); setContentView(tv); } }

  • Adding figures using contextual menu - Eclipse GEF

    - by darkie15
    All, I am creating a palette less eclipse plugin where am adding figures to the custom editor through the contextual menu, but am not finding a way to do it. Can anyone please guide me as to how to go about adding figures to editor dynamically through context menu i.e. adding actions/commands. Since Eclipse GEF plugin development finds so less examples to look at, I am adding my solution so others find it useful. This code helps to render a node to the editor. Source code for Action class to render figures to the editor: public class AddNodeAction extends EditorPartAction { public static final String ADD_NODE = "ADDNODE"; public AddNodeAction(IEditorPart editor) { super(editor); setText("Add a Node"); setId(ADD_NODE); // Important to set ID } public void run() { <ParentModelClass> parent= (<ParentModelClass>)getEditorPart().getAdapter(<ParentModelClass>.class); if (parent== null) return; CommandStack command = (CommandStack)getEditorPart().getAdapter(CommandStack.class); if (command != null) { CompoundCommand totalCmd = new CompoundCommand(); <ChildModelToRenderFigureCommand>cmd = new <ChildModelToRenderFigureCommand>(parent); cmd.setParent(parent); <ChildModelClass> newNode = new <ChildModelClass>(); cmd.setNode(newNode); cmd.setLocation(getLocation()); // Any location you wish to set to totalCmd.add(cmd); command.execute(totalCmd); } } @Override protected boolean calculateEnabled() { return true; } }

  • Android - attach data to views

    - by Leonti
    Hi! In my application I create dynamic rows in table much as in this tutorial: http://en.androidwiki.com/wiki/Dynamically_adding_rows_to_TableLayout for(int i = startDay; i < startDay + 7; i++){ /* Create a TextView to be the row-content. */ TextView day = new TextView(this); day.setText(Integer.toString(i)); day.setLayoutParams(new LayoutParams( LayoutParams.FILL_PARENT, LayoutParams.WRAP_CONTENT)); day.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { Log.i("Listener: ", "Click"); } So now when I click on a TextView I can register click event, but how do I determine which TextView was clicked? Not just an object which I get with an event but data like which day number was clicked? Ideally I would want to have data attached to every view I create dynamically. Something like data() method in Javascript jQuery. Right now I can see only 1 way to solve this - while creating TextView add id with data and when clicked - get id back and parse it to get my data. But it strikes me as ugly approach. Is there a way to attach arbitrary data to android views?

  • Garbled text when constructing emails with vmime

    - by Klaus Fiedler
    Hey, my Qt C++ program has a part where it needs to send the first 128 characters or so of the output of a bash command to an email address. The output from the tty is captured in a text box in my gui called textEdit_displayOutput and put into my message I built using the Message Builder ( the object m_vmMessage ) Here is the relevant code snippet: m_vmMessage.getTextPart()->setCharset( vmime::charsets::US_ASCII ); m_vmMessage.getTextPart()->setText( vmime::create < vmime::stringContentHandler > ( ui->textEdit_displayOutput->toPlainText().toStdString() ) ); vmime::ref < vmime::message > msg = m_vmMessage.construct(); vmime::utility::outputStreamAdapter out( std::cout ); msg->generate( out ); Giving bash 'ls /' and a newline makes vmime give terminal output like this: ls /=0Abin etc=09 initrd.img.old mnt=09 sbin=09 tmp=09 vmlinuz.o= ld=0Aboot farts=09 lib=09=09 opt=09 selinux usr=0Acdrom home=09 = lost+found=09 proc srv=09 var=0Adev initrd.img media=09 root = Whereas it should look more like this: ls / bin etc initrd.img.old mnt sbin tmp vmlinuz.old boot farts lib opt selinux usr cdrom home lost+found proc srv var dev initrd.img media root sys vmlinuz 18:22> How do I encode the email properly? Does vmime just display it like that on purpose and the actual content of the email is ok?

  • Table view with custom cell (programmatically)

    - by gotye
    Hey guys, So far, I used to create custom nibs to make my cell as I wanted but this time, the height of a cell will change from one to another so that I can't create a fixed-size cell's nib. So I decided to create it programmatically ... Is the way below the good way to achieve it ? // Customize the appearance of table view cells. - (UITableViewCell *)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath { static NSString *CellIdentifier = @"Cell"; UITableViewCell *cell = [tableView dequeueReusableCellWithIdentifier:CellIdentifier]; if (cell == nil) { cell = [[[UITableViewCell alloc] initWithStyle:UITableViewCellStyleDefault reuseIdentifier:CellIdentifier] autorelease]; UILabel *pseudoAndDate = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0.0,0.0,320.0,20.0)]; [pseudoAndDate setTag:1]; [cell addSubview:pseudoAndDate]; [pseudoAndDate release]; } CommentRecord *thisRecord = [comments objectAtIndex:[indexPath row]]; UILabel *label = (UILabel *)[cell viewWithTag:1]; [label setText:[NSString stringWithFormat:@"%@ | %@",thisRecord.author,thisRecord.date]]; return cell; } or .. am i missing something here ? Cause so far it doesn't seem to work ;) Thanks, Gotye.

  • Amazone API ItemSearch returns (400) Bad Request.

    - by BuzzBubba
    I'm using a simple example from Amazon documentation for ItemSearch and I get a strange error: "The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request." This is the code: public static void Main() { //Remember to create an instance of the amazon service, including you Access ID. AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient service = new AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient(new BasicHttpBinding(), new EndpointAddress( "http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/soap?Service=AWSECommerceService")); AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient client = new AWSECommerceServicePortTypeClient( new BasicHttpBinding(), new EndpointAddress("http://webservices.amazon.com/onca/soap?Service=AWSECommerceService")); // prepare an ItemSearch request ItemSearchRequest request = new ItemSearchRequest(); request.SearchIndex = "Books"; request.Title = "Harry+Potter"; request.ResponseGroup = new string[] { "Small" }; ItemSearch itemSearch = new ItemSearch(); itemSearch.Request = new ItemSearchRequest[] { request }; itemSearch.AWSAccessKeyId = accessKeyId; // issue the ItemSearch request try { ItemSearchResponse response = client.ItemSearch(itemSearch); // write out the results foreach (var item in response.Items[0].Item) { Console.WriteLine(item.ItemAttributes.Title); } } catch(Exception e) { Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.Red; Console.WriteLine(e.Message); Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.White; Console.WriteLine("Press any key to quit..."); Clipboard.SetText(e.Message); } Console.ReadKey(); What is wrong?

  • Connecting an overloaded PyQT signal using new-style syntax

    - by Claudio
    I am designing a custom widget which is basically a QGroupBox holding a configurable number of QCheckBox buttons, where each one of them should control a particular bit in a bitmask represented by a QBitArray. In order to do that, I added the QCheckBox instances to a QButtonGroup, with each button given an integer ID: def populate(self, num_bits, parent = None): """ Adds check boxes to the GroupBox according to the bitmask size """ self.bitArray.resize(num_bits) layout = QHBoxLayout() for i in range(num_bits): cb = QCheckBox() cb.setText(QString.number(i)) self.buttonGroup.addButton(cb, i) layout.addWidget(cb) self.setLayout(layout) Then, each time a user would click on a checkbox contained in self.buttonGroup, I'd like self.bitArray to be notified so I can set/unset the corresponding bit in the array. For that I intended to connect QButtonGroup's buttonClicked(int) signal to QBitArray's toggleBit(int) method and, to be as pythonic as possible, I wanted to use new-style signals syntax, so I tried this: self.buttonGroup.buttonClicked.connect(self.bitArray.toggleBit) The problem is that buttonClicked is an overloaded signal, so there is also the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signature. In fact, when the program is executing I get this error when I click a check box: The debugged program raised the exception unhandled TypeError "QBitArray.toggleBit(int): argument 1 has unexpected type 'QCheckBox'" which clearly shows the toggleBit method received the buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*) signal instead of the buttonClicked(int) one. So, the question is, how can we specify, using new-style syntax, that self.buttonGroup emits the buttonClicked(int) signal instead of the default overload - buttonClicked(QAbstractButton*)?

ContentValues newValues = new ContentValues(); // Assign values for each row. newValues.put("value", "kunjan"); // Insert the row into your table myDatabase.insert(DATABASE_TABLE, null, newValues); String[] result_columns = new String[] { "value" }; Cursor allRows = myDatabase.query(true, DATABASE_TABLE, result_columns, null, null, null, null, null, null); if (allRows.moveToFirst()) { String value = allRows.getString(1); TextView foo = (TextView) findViewById(R.id.TextView01); foo.setText(value); } allRows.close(); myDatabase.close();
