I have used array($tmp_list) but I get the values in one line only like: [0] => 'COB,ISJ,NSJ,' instead of [0] => 'COB', [1] => 'ISJ', [2] => 'NSJ' All help is appriciated.

User can choose colors as many as he wants. I don't think that making Color model and has_many relationship is good solution here to store colors data in model A.   I was working with PreparedStatement today and noticed that it used setString() setTimestamp() etc. to insert variables into the DB. I basically have 20 tables each with at least 15 columns and it would not be feasible for me to manuallt write down all the setters. Considering that I have an ArrayList "Vals" which contains all the variables to be inputted in String format (obtained by getString() using PreparedStatement itself), is there any way I can do an insert without using expressly using the Setters? That would save me a lot of time.

  Do you ever use a separate table for "generating" artificial primary keys for DB (and why)? What I mean is to have a table with two columns, table name and current ID - with which you could get new "ID" for some table by simply locking the row with that table name, getting the current value of the key, increment it by one, and unlock the row. Why would you prefer this over standard integer identity column? P.S. The "idea" is from Fowlers Patterns of Enterprise Application Architecture, btw...

  Using SQL ManagementStudio 2008 I created SQL 3.5 Compact DB (TestCompact.sdf) and I have created subscription to existing Publication. Using SQL Management Studio it is working. I have transfered TestCompact.sdf to Windows Mobile 5 emulator device and with QueryAnalyzer for Mobile I could query existing tables in TestCompact.sdf. I don't know how to start replication synchronization on that mobile device. Do I need to write some C# code or it is possible do it more simple?
