• Correct configuration of multiple Analytics trackers per page, spanning domains and subdomains

  My company publishes sites on a somewhat convoluted domain structure, and we're having trouble getting accurate numbers in Analytics when we have multiple trackers on the page. We publish under two brands (A, B). Each brand has a "national" site at A.com, B.com, as well as per-city "local" sites at eg. ny.A.com, la.A.com, sf.A.com, etc. Right now we're trying to track in these dimensions: Full network (A.com, ny.A.com, B.com, la.B.com, etc.) All sites in brand (A.com, ny.A.com, la.A.com, etc.) Inidividual site (ny.A.com) Here are the commands we're using on an individual site: _gaq.push( ['t0._setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXX-1'], // full network ['t0._setDomainName', 'none'], ['t0._setAllowLinker', true], ['t0._trackPageview'], ['t1._trackPageLoadTime'], ['t1._setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXX-2'], // brand ['t1._setDomainName', 'none'], ['t1._setAllowLinker', true], ['t1._trackPageview'], ['t1._trackPageLoadTime'], ['t2._setAccount', 'UA-XXXXXX-3'], // individual ['t2._setDomainName', 'none'], ['t2._setAllowLinker', true], ['t2._trackPageview'], ['t2._trackPageLoadTime'] ); We send the same commands to each account because we've had strange results when trackers were configured differently in the past. • Engine for 2D Top-Down Physics-Based Skeletal Animation

  I just watched at the Sui Generis video, and was completely amazed. Specifically, the part where the big troll thing is beating up the player with his flail. This got me really excited, and I would like to try implementing something like this in a 2D Top-Down format. Something like this. That atloria example seems simple enough, but it's not exactly what I'm looking to make. I think atloria is using predefined animations, where as I would like to make something more physics-based like the Sui Generis engine does. So, I'm wondering what physics engines might work for something like this, and if I'd need to implement my own skeletal system, or if I could just use "joints" and such from the engine. The only experience I have in terms of physics engines is Box2D, which I've heard shouldn't be used for top-down settings, and I can think of a few reasons it wouldn't work out well. One of those reasons being gravity. In box 2D, gravity pulls towards a side of the screen (usually the bottom.) I wouldn't want my player's forearms constantly being pulled to one side. :) Also should mention that the programming language doesn't matter all that much to me. I'm currently playing with HTML5 stuff, though. :) Thanks in advance!

I have been programming for at least 10 years now, have made hundreds of websites but I have just recently started getting into Design and the SEO side of sites, sad that I have been overlooking these for so many years. I have pretty good knowledge from all my years of SEO but I have never really looked into it until now. My question, I would like to build a site that targets many different key words for the search engines, for an example. Let's say I built a site about Outdoor activities called outdoorreview.com and I planned on having many sections hunting fishing Hiking camping cycling climbing etc... For best Search Engine results, how could I get the most search engine traffic to all these ares? Also how should I structure the way to get to them, outdoorreview.com/Hiking/ or hiking.outdoorreview.com ?

• Block-level deduplicating filesystem

  I'm looking for a deduplicating copy-on-write filesystem solution for general user data such as /home and backups of it. It should use online/inline/synchronous deduplication at the block-level using secure hashing (for negligible chance of collisions) such as SHA256 or TTH. Duplicate blocks need not even touch the disk. The idea is that I should be able to just copy /home/<user> to an external HDD with the same such filesystem to do a backup. Simple. No messing around with incremental backups where corruption to any of the snapshots will nearly always break all later snapshots, and no need to use a specific tool to delete or 'checkout' a snapshot. Everything should simply be done from the file browser without worry. Can you imagine how easy this would be? I'd never have to think twice about backing-up again! I don't mind a performance hit, reliability is the main concern. Although, with specific implementations of cp, mv and scp, and a file browser plugin, these operations would be very fast, especially when there is a lot of duplication as they would only need to transfer the absent blocks. Accidentally using conventional copy tools that do not integrate with the FS would merely take longer, waste some bandwidth when copying remotely and waste some CPU, as the duplicate data would be re-read, re-transferred and re-hashed (although nothing would be re-written), but would absolutely not corrupt anything. (Some filesharing software may also be able to benefit by integrating with the FS.) So what's the best way of doing this? I've looked at some options: lessfs - Looks unmaintained. Any good? [Opendedup/SDFS][3] - Java? Could I use this on Android?! What does [SDFS][4] stand for? [Btrfs][5] - Some patches floating around on mailing list archives, but no real support. [ZFS][6] - Hopefully they'll one day relicense under a true Free/Opensource GPL-compatible licence. Also, 2 years ago I had a go at an attempt in Python using Fuse at the file-level to be used over the top of a typical solid FS such as EXT4, but I found Fuse for Python underdocumented and didn't manage to implement all of the system calls.   What would be your best advise for changing your main domain to a sub domain? Are site used to be example.co.uk but has now changed to https://secure.example.co.uk/. Any example.co.uk url's re-direct to the new secure domain. Effectively the example.co.uk is now just there to redirect any links and is no longer part of the sites url structure. I have added a new domain to Google Webmaster https://secure.example.co.uk/ and added the site map. Waiting for it to be indexed. Is there anything else you would advise and will this take away a lot of the juice from all the links I developed for example.co.uk? Guessing this is not best practise as I have struggled to find any information online based on this subject.
