  Hi, I am trying to install skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.91-1.i386.deb on ubuntu 8.04: But in the Package installer, I get 'Error Dependency is not satisfiable: libascound2'. And I have tried. $ sudo apt-get install libasound2 [sudo] password for novarra: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done libasound2 is already the newest version. The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: linux-headers-2.6.24-24-generic libdns35 linux-headers-2.6.24-24 Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them. • WMIC returns error when querying product

  I'm trying to automate the installation of an MSI on my server, however before the installation can go ahead I need to uninstall the previous version from the server. Searching on the internet I've found that WMIC is the tool required but there seems to be a problem with the setup of WMI on the server. • Postfix smtp error 450 (failed to add recipient)

  I have debian server with postfix and roundcube. After an attack we are on 2 blacklists, but I don't think that this is the main problem. I can't send mail to any address. I tried to find the cause...I checked var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf and resolv.etc and they're the same with this content: nameserver 127.0.0.1 nameserver localhost In var/log/mail.err I found: cyrus/imap[25452]: DBERROR: opening /var/lib/cyrus/user/m/[email protected]: cyrusdb error cyrus/imap[25452]: DBERROR: skiplist recovery /var/lib/cyrus/user/m/[email protected]: ADD at 1FC0 exists When I try to send email from roundcube, I get the message from title. When I send it within opera or any other mail client, It gives nothing, but email is'nt sended. Thank you for any advice.

• insert system disk error after switchting SATA cables

  I have 5 hard disks built in my computer, two connected by IDE cables, three by SATA. Today I had to return two of the SATA cables to my room mate. So I grabbed another one I had floating around and connected the remaining disk by unplugging my DVD R/W. Now I receive the 'insert system disk and press enter' error after booting. Disks and cables seem to be fine, since all the disks are recognized in the BIOS. Also, I can mount the disks using a live CD w/o problems. I also tried different orderings of the cables (i.e. plugging the disks in different plugs on the mainboard), I'm not sure if that even matters using SATA. Any Ideas what might be the problem here? The OS installed are Windows 7 and Ubuntu 10, the bootloader installed is GRUB. PS: No RAID involved, JBOD.

  I have an nfs-kernel-server configured and running on Ubuntu 10.04 Server. /export THIRD_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) SECOND_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) /export/ebs THIRD_SERVER_IP(rw,fsid=0,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) SECOND_SERVER_IP(rw,nohide,insecure,no_subtree_check,async) I mounted the exported folder to the second server: mount -t nfs4 -o proto=tcp,port=2049 NFS_SERVER_IP_HERE:/ebs /ebs and it works just fine.   I am getting this message: internal compiler error: Segmentation fault Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. See <file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.4/README.Bugs> for instructions. for every compilation that takes longer (ie: linux kernel, kde sources etc.) I've tried other OS (at that moment I was on Fedora 12, now on Debian; was a Suse also) and it didn't work. I've tried replacing my hard disk, since it needed an upgrade either ways - that didn't work either. I assumed that it's the RAM fault - tested them with memtest and it says they are fine. Does anyone know what else I can do in order to figure out where the problem is?

• ADFS 2.0 and CRM 2011 IFD - Error 403 when being redirected

  I'm not sure what happened here, but let me give you the rundown. I have a CRM 2011 IFD that by all accounts was functioning. Out of nowhere, I find that when being redirected to ADFS 2.0 login page by CRM, instead of seeing the login page, I get the following error: 403 - Forbidden: Access is denied. You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied. I'm not sure what is going on here. The certs are good, as best as I can tell, the logins are good. More specifically, nothing has been modified. This all worked just fine, and now it doesn't. I'm really stumped.

  Received a message from Google Webmaster Tools: Over the last 24 hours, Googlebot encountered 2 errors while attempting to retrieve DNS information for your site. The overall error rate for DNS queries for your site is 40.0%. You can see more details about these errors in Webmaster Tools. Recommended action Contacted HostPapa and they deny that there is any issue with the site / server!!! Support in terms of what I can do to actually resolve this issue is non-existent!!!! The site is currently online. And I don't know much about DNS... so any advice about what I can do to resolve this problem would be much appreciated.

• GitLab Unicorn Service crashes all the time, 502 Error

  I used the Installer of Gitlab CE and so far everything looks well. Then when finished the installation I always got 502 Error on my website, since then I did a little research, then I saw that my gitlab service unicorn restarts/crashes every 10 seconds, so I assume this is the reason why I get 502, but I don't know why it crashes all the time. How can I prevent this?   I am trying to move messages from a rather large mailbox to an archive mailbox. However I run into errors all the time. the command I am executing is Export-Mailbox -Identity MAILBOX_FROM -TargetMailbox ARCHIVE -TargetFolder ARCHIVE_FOLDER -StartDate 2009-02-01 -EndDate 2009-02-28 -DeleteContent -Confirm:$false I can copy/move some messages, but run into frequent "an unknown error has occurred" (statuscode -1056749164) I run the console as administrative user, and all permissions are set right, as far as I can tell. I've restricted the start and end dates in case the number of messages moved/deleted should create problems. Anything I am missing in my setup? Corrupted messages? Over-limit message sizes?

  I'm trying to backup a bunch of MyISAM tables in a way that would allow me to rsync/rdiff the backup directory to a remote location. I've came up with a script that dumps only the recently changed tables and sets the date of the file so that rsync can pick up only the changed ones, but now I don't know how to do the error handling - I would like the script to exit with a non 0 value if there are errors. • MinGW MSYS ssh error: Could not create directory '/home/<username>/.ssh'

  I have just installed a fresh MinGW installation on Windows 7 64bit using the Graphical User Interface Installer (the recommended approach) following the instructions given here and keeping the default options (i.e. installation in C:\MinGW) - hopefully without missing any steps or messing things up in any way. However, when running the ssh command, I get the following error: C:\Users\Diablossh username@host Could not create directory '/home/username/.ssh'. The authenticity of host 'username@host (host ip here)' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is (fingerprint here). Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? yes Failed to add the host to the list of known hosts (/home/username/.ssh/known_hosts). So, I basically have to confirm the connection every time. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?

However FTP works from home / mobile broadband. No ip blocks on ftp sever. Other ftp servers(differrent ip/hosts) work okay. firewall setup correct, no ports blocked. Is it possible to use a proxy for ftp a i think it's something with the ISP but taking too long to fix?

• grub crc error after decompressing linux

  Hi, I have a debian with a raid1 on it. Both HDDs have bootable flags and grub setup in MBR. If I only start up with sda, linux boots. If I only start up with sdb, grub shows up and says Decompressing Linux... crc error -- System halted I have reinstalled grub a few times now but still nothing. It goes like this: /dev/md0 contains /dev/sda1 /dev/sdb1 find /boot/grub/stage1 shows (hd0,1) (hd0,1) The line that boots Linux shows: root (hd0,0) kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686 initrd /initrd.img-2.6.26-1-686 This kind of renders my "redundant" array useless. Any clues? update: just to mention, these are 2 different HDDs, sda is 320gb and sdb is 400gb. Both are WD and both have exactly the same partitions, cloned using sfdisk.

• ORA-01019 error only as an administrator

  I'm having a strange problem. I've installed the Oracle 10g client on a terminal server running Windows Server 2008R2. When I try to connect to Oracle, using, say, Toad, I receive the error "ORA-01019 unable to allocate memory in the user side". But this only happens if I'm logged in as an administrator. If I connect as a normal user, I can connect without issue. Also -- if a normal user is connected, I can then connect without a problem as an administrator. Any thoughts?

  This is a working Windows Server 2008 that I should install Active Directory on it. I found http://www.howtogeek.com/99323/ and followed the steps. After Additional Domain Controller Options, I'm asked the question "This computer has dynamically assigned IP addresses". As I see, the message states that Dynamic IP addressing has been used for the server, while this is wrong. When I come to Network And Sharing Center, and click on Local Area Connections - Properties - Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) - Properties, I see that the main IP address (as well as DNS Server) and also all other IP addresses are assigned statically. So it should be OK. I cannot believe any server using dynamic IP(s)! Note: No IPv6 has been set for the server. Please tell me why the error is given and which of the options available, should I choose? Note that it's a production server and is working with many users in WORKGROUP. No change should be affected nor to the IPs, neither to users connecting to the server.

• Error- D:\ is not accessible. Access is denied

  All of the sudden the D drive gives me an error when I try to open it: D:\ is not accessible. Access is denied. I have files on the drive that I would like to recover, so I do not want to reformat the drive. It acts almost like the computer doesn't recognize the drive. I have a feeling it's something with security settings, I may have accidentally changed something on the drive. I'm running on a Acer Aspire laptop on Windows Vista, SP2. I beleive both the C and the D drive run off of the same disk drive. At least that's all the Device Manager shows. So correct me if I'm wrong, but that would make it a partitioned drive.

• Slow file operations, possible I/O error but chkdsk says OK

  I've recently faced a strange problem. I use Directory Opus file manager that suddenly started to report an I/O error when trying to copy files onto one of my disks. The Windows Explorer did copy those files but it was extremely slow. I run chkdsk on this drive (ca. 300GB) and it took it over two days to complete! However it reported no errors found. I run Hard Disk Sentinel that says the drive is OK. But the files still read and write extremely slow! Can anyone advise me what to do? I have a spare space I am copying my files for backup now but should I get rid of this disk? Or can I try to "heal" it somehow? Many thanks for your ideas!

The cells it is referring to contains data in the format "12:30" (I formatted the columns with format "HH:MM"). I just want to calculate how much time lies between two times, respecting the special case where endtime < starttime.

  I pressed $, in order to sync mailbox, but mutt just quit... in fact mutt don't quit every time i press $, it only quits sometimes, so how to know the reason why mutt quit? is this a bug in mutt'? The error message is: Sorting mailbox... Segmentation fault Can i use strace with mutt if i want to know what happens? Or are there tools which are better to find out more about the problem? right now i replied to a mail, then i press $, then segmentation fault...

• Apt-Get "sources.list needs at least 1 source-URI" error when building dependecies for Xen

  What i'm trying to do is install Xen in a test environment, now I am trying to run the: apt-get build-dep xen-3.3 command, but it keep throwing a error which literally translated from dutch (installed the debian OS in Dutch) say's: E: your sourcelist (/etc/apt/sources.list) has to contain at least 1 source-URI I've googled it but I can't seem to find a definitive solid answer on how to fix this. By default a source-URI (read man page of apt-get) states it needs to be something along the lines of deb ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian stable contrib Now I've got 2 HTTP sources (default Debian ones) up & running so far and they've been working flawlessly for the better part of a few days now. Only now its starting to act up. Anyone able to help me out ? Much obliged !
