  • Values of generated column not appearing in table

    - by msh210
    I'm using mysql version 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10 (Ubuntu). mysql> show create table tt\G *************************** 1. row *************************** Table: tt Create Table: CREATE TABLE `tt` ( `pz` int(8) DEFAULT NULL, `os` varchar(8) DEFAULT NULL, `uz` int(11) NOT NULL, `p` bigint(21) NOT NULL DEFAULT '0', `c` decimal(23,0) DEFAULT NULL, KEY `pz` (`pz`), KEY `uz` (`uz`), KEY `os` (`os`), KEY `pz_2` (`pz`,`uz`) ) ENGINE=MyISAM DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1 1 row in set (0.00 sec) mysql> select pz,uz,pz*uz, -> if(pz*uz,1,.5), -> left(pz,2) pl,left(lpad(uz,5,0),2) ul, -> p from tt limit 10; +-------+----+-------+----------------+--------+----+--------+ | pz | uz | pz*uz | if(pz*uz,1,.5) | pl | ul | p | +-------+----+-------+----------------+--------+----+--------+ | NULL | 0 | NULL | 0.5 | NULL | 00 | 4080 | | NULL | 0 | NULL | 0.5 | NULL | 00 | 323754 | | 89101 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 89 | 00 | 6880 | | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 0 | 00 | 11591 | | 89110 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 89 | 00 | 72 | | 78247 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 78 | 00 | 27 | | 90062 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 90 | 00 | 5 | | 63107 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 63 | 00 | 4 | | NULL | 0 | NULL | 0.5 | NULL | 00 | 54561 | | 94102 | 0 | 0 | 0.5 | 94 | 00 | 12499 | +-------+----+-------+----------------+--------+----+--------+ So far so good. As you see, 0.5 appears as a value of if(pz*uz,1,.5). The problem is: mysql> select os, -> if(pz*uz,left(pz,2)<=>left(lpad(uz,5,0),2),.5) uptwo, -> if(pz*uz,left(pz,3)<=>left(lpad(uz,5,0),3),.5) upthree, -> sum(p) p,sum(c) c -> from tt t -> group by os,uptwo,upthree order by null; +----+-------+---------+---------+-------+ | os | uptwo | upthree | p | c | +----+-------+---------+---------+-------+ | u | 1 | 1 | 52852 | 318 | | i | 1 | 1 | 7046563 | 21716 | | m | 1 | 1 | 1252166 | 7337 | | i | 0 | 0 | 1830284 | 4033 | | m | 0 | 0 | 294612 | 1714 | | i | 1 | 0 | 911486 | 3560 | | m | 1 | 0 | 145182 | 1136 | | u | 0 | 0 | 12144 | 23 | | u | 1 | 0 | 1571 | 8 | +----+-------+---------+---------+-------+ Although I group by uptwo, 0.5 doesn't appear in that column. What happened to the 0.5 values? Edit: As noted in the comments to Todd Gibson's answer, I also tried it with if(pz*uz,cast(left(pz,2)<=>left(lpad(uz,5,0),2) as decimal),.5) instead of if(pz*uz,left(pz,2)<=>left(lpad(uz,5,0),2),.5), but it, too, didn't work.

  • How does Mach-O loader recognize a bunch of NSString objects?

    - by overboming
I have known that If you define a bunch of @"" NSString objects in the source code in Mac OS. These NSStrings will be stored in a segment in the Mach-O library. Section sectname __ustring segname __TEXT addr 0x000b3b54 size 0x000001b7 offset 731988 align 2^1 (2) reloff 0 nreloc 0 flags 0x00000000 reserved1 0 reserved2 0 If I hex dump the binary, they are aligned closely one by one with a 0x0000as separator. What I want to know is how does the loader in Mac OS X load these NSStrings when the program runs? Are they loaded simpily by recognize the 0x0000 separator or these is a string offset table elsewhere in the binary pointing to separate NSString objects? Thanks. (What I really want to do is the increase the length of one of the NSString, so I have to know how the loader recognize these separate objects)

  • Cycling tabs graphically

    - by abernier
Mac OS X's window manager is composed of: Applications Windows Tabs By default on OS X, you can cycle over applications with the famous ?? shortcut. In addition to this, I use a little utility called Witch which enables cycling (graphically) over windows too(I've defined it on ??). Unfortunately, it does not currently support tabs cycling... Would you have any suggestion for this? I know I already can ^? for this, but I'm looking for a graphical utility where you are not blind during cycling. Thank you.

  • Heavy use of templates for mobile platforms

    - by Chris P. Bacon
I've been flicking through the book Modern C++ Design by Andrei Alexandrescu and it seems interesting stuff. However it makes very extensive use of templates and I would like to find out if this should be avoided if using C++ for mobile platform development (Brew MP, WebOS, iOS etc.) due to size considerations. In Symbian OS C++ the standard use of templates is discouraged, the Symbian OS itself uses them but using an idiom known as thin templates where the underlying implementation is done in a C style using void* pointers with a thin template layered on top of this to achieve type safety. The reason they use this idiom as opposed to regular use of templates is specifically to avoid code bloating. So what are opinions (or facts) on the use of templates when developing applications for mobile platforms.

    - by Mohamed Hemdan
I've created a list of recipes using Listview/customcursoradapter. A custom layout includes a photo for the recipe , Now I've some problems with the performance of viewing and scrolling the Listview although it has only 10 records (Target is 150). sometimes i get this error java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: bitmap size exceeds VM budget , I've tried to implement the Async task but i failed to do it. Is there any way i can overcome this problem? Your help is highly appreciated !! Hi, I am working on an application an have an issue about running shell command from java application. here is the code: public String execRuntime(String cmd) { Process proc = null; int inBuffer, errBuffer; int result = 0; StringBuffer outputReport = new StringBuffer(); StringBuffer errorBuffer = new StringBuffer(); try { proc = Runtime.getRuntime().exec(cmd); } catch (IOException e) { return ""; } try { response.status = 1; result = proc.waitFor(); } catch (InterruptedException e) { return ""; } if (proc != null && null != proc.getInputStream()) { InputStream is = proc.getInputStream(); InputStream es = proc.getErrorStream(); OutputStream os = proc.getOutputStream(); try { while ((inBuffer = is.read()) != -1) { outputReport.append((char) inBuffer); } while ((errBuffer = es.read()) != -1) { errorBuffer.append((char) errBuffer); } } catch (IOException e) { return ""; } try { is.close(); is = null; es.close(); es = null; os.close(); os = null; } catch (IOException e) { return ""; } proc.destroy(); proc = null; } if (errorBuffer.length() > 0) { logger .error("could not finish execution because of error(s)."); logger.error("*** Error : " + errorBuffer.toString()); return ""; } return outputReport.toString(); } but when i try to exec command like : /export/home/test/myapp -T "some argument" myapp reads "some argument" as two seperated arguments.but I want to read "some argument" as only a argument. when i directly run this command from terminal, it executed successfully. • Integrate Python Projects Into Xcode

    - by Vynile
Hi! I'm a Mac user, and one of my hobbies is programming. I use Xcode, the integrated IDE of Mac OS X. I started to learn Python programming langage, and I want to use Xcode for developing my scripts. I searched for weeks in the internet, but I didn't find something interesting. Firstly, I want to update the integrated interpreter of Mac OS X, that is on 2.6 version. And secondly, I want to create a Python project on Xcode easily, like I do with C & C++ projects. Can you help me? I really need help! Cordially.

  • Book resources for x86/x64 assembly programming on Win platform

    - by Scott Davies
Hello, I ran a search for assembly language resources on stackoverflow.com and found some interesting results, but they seemed to boil down to two groups: 1) Assembly references to old ia32 architecture, such as the 80386 to Pentium 2) Windows agnostic books. Most of the commenters make the point that assembler is CPU dependent and that the OS is irrelevant, but it seems pointless to me to pick a book that has assembly examples that refer to MS-DOS interrupts and memory layouts. Likewise, learning assembler on Linux would seem to produce Linux executables Are there any: 1) Modern 2) x86/x64 3) on Windows platform - book resources available ? The reason I am targeting the Win platform is I would like to do low-level, OS internals programming, to supplement my Win C/C++ work. Thanks

  • Showing ImageView next to TextView in a ListView

    - by KDEx
    So I have a listview that is displaying correctly. When the item is "turned on" the text is white and when it's turned off it's grey. That part all functions great. However when I add the ImageView into the mix I get a null pointer exception. I don't understand why. I've tried using bitmaps as well and get the same problem. Here is some code: @Override public void bindView(View view, Context context, Cursor cursor) { TextView rRule = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.rule_text); TextView rType = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.rule_type); ImageView iChecked = (ImageView) view.findViewById(R.id.checkBox); String ruleName = cursor.getString(1); int ruleType = cursor.getInt(2); String ruleEnabled = cursor.getString(3); switch (ruleType) { /*...some irrelevant code */ } if (ruleEnabled.equals("true")) { rRule.setTypeface(null, Typeface.BOLD); rRule.setTextColor(Color.WHITE); iChecked.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE); //line 271 } else if (ruleEnabled.equals("false")) { rRule.setTypeface(null, Typeface.NORMAL); rRule.setTextColor(Color.GRAY); iChecked.setVisibility(View.GONE); } rRule.setText(ruleName); } Per request the error log: (Sorry was under the impression null pointers dont say anything helpful..I know the error is the imageview) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): FATAL EXCEPTION: main 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): java.lang.NullPointerException 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at com.company.app.DefaultRulesList$RulesAdapter.bindView(DefaultRulesList.java:271) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at com.company.app.DefaultRulesList$RulesAdapter.newView(DefaultRulesList.java:284) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.CursorAdapter.getView(CursorAdapter.java:246) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.AbsListView.obtainView(AbsListView.java:2033) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.ListView.makeAndAddView(ListView.java:1772) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.ListView.fillDown(ListView.java:672) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.ListView.fillFromTop(ListView.java:732) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.ListView.layoutChildren(ListView.java:1625) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.AbsListView.onLayout(AbsListView.java:1863) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:11278) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewGroup.layout(ViewGroup.java:4224) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.setChildFrame(LinearLayout.java:1628) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.layoutVertical(LinearLayout.java:1486) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.onLayout(LinearLayout.java:1399) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:11278) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewGroup.layout(ViewGroup.java:4224) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onLayout(FrameLayout.java:431) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:11278) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewGroup.layout(ViewGroup.java:4224) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.setChildFrame(LinearLayout.java:1628) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.layoutVertical(LinearLayout.java:1486) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.LinearLayout.onLayout(LinearLayout.java:1399) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:11278) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewGroup.layout(ViewGroup.java:4224) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.widget.FrameLayout.onLayout(FrameLayout.java:431) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.View.layout(View.java:11278) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewGroup.layout(ViewGroup.java:4224) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewRootImpl.performTraversals(ViewRootImpl.java:1489) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.view.ViewRootImpl.handleMessage(ViewRootImpl.java:2442) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.os.Handler.dispatchMessage(Handler.java:99) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.os.Looper.loop(Looper.java:137) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at android.app.ActivityThread.main(ActivityThread.java:4424) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invokeNative(Native Method) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(Method.java:511) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit$MethodAndArgsCaller.run(ZygoteInit.java:784) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at com.android.internal.os.ZygoteInit.main(ZygoteInit.java:551) 06-29 10:29:02.777: E/AndroidRuntime(29516): at dalvik.system.NativeStart.main(Native Method) Code for iChecked (where the id is called) <ImageView android:id="@+id/checkBox" android:padding="2dip" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:background="@android:drawable/checkbox_on_background"/>

I had need of showing open file dialog in winform application. And one property of the file dialog, autoupgradeenabled which I set as a true, which is for updating the open file dialog according to operating system, like if application is running on xp then dialog is displayed different as in wista or window 7. So when I used that property as a true, and once in the machine where there was xp with 2.0 .net framework that open file dialog could not be opened. So I tried by doing it false then also it could not be opened in the machine with the xp and 2.0 framework. Then I tried by commenting that whole line means I removed that property from the code, then I tried and it was fine in xp machine with 2.0 framework. So problem is I cannot understand that why that property is not working by setting it false or true. Because by setting that property is should work in all os with all framework and dialog should be changed according to os. If not, then what is the meaning of that property ?

  • Where is a good place/way to store Windows config files for Python scripts?

    - by thornomad
I have a script/program I am working on that requires a configuration file (I am using ConfigParser). On linux, I will default to store these variables in ~/.myscript using the os.getenv('HOME') function. With Windows, I know I can use os.getenv('USERPROFILE') to find the User's "home" directory, however, is it a good idea to save a hidden file that way (ie, with the name .myscript)? I don't use Windows, obviously, but wanted to be smart about it for those who do. Is there a standard place/way to store these config variables on Windows?

  • Why is glpk-java.jar not the same across all platforms?

    - by pruefsumme
I'm using glpk-java in one of my projects. It provides a JNI to GLPK, a free LP/MIP solver. To use it under different platforms, you need different shared libraries (libglpk.so under Linux, libglpk.dylib under Mac OS X, glpk.dll under Windows) which is fully understandable. In addition, a java library is needed: glpk-java.jar. It's created as part of the build process. I was wondering why this JAR file (which only contains .class files) is different under different platforms? I.e., I cannot use the same glpk-java.jar under Linux and Mac OS X which means that I cannot put this file under revision control.

  • How can I set the buffer size for the underneath Socket UDP? C#

    - by Jack
Hi all As we know for UDP receive, we use Socket.ReceiveFrom or UdpClient.receive Socket.ReceiveFrom accept a byte array from you to put the udp data in. UdpClient.receive returns directly a byte array where the data is My question is that How to set the buffer size inside Socket. I think the OS maintains its own buffer for receive UDP data, right? for e.g., if a udp packet is sent to my machine, the OS will put it to a buffer and wait us to Socket.ReceiveFrom or UdpClient.receive, right? How can I change the size of that internal buffer? I have tried Socket.ReceiveBuffSize, it has no effect at all for UDP, and it clearly said that it is for TCP window. Also I have done a lot of experiments which proves Socket.ReceiveBufferSize is NOT for UDP. Can anyone share some insights for UDP internal buffer??? Thanks

  • need for tcp fine-tuning on heavily used proxy server

    - by Vijay Gharge
Hi all, I am using squid like Internet proxy server on RHEL 4 update 6 & 8 with quite heavy load i.e. 8k established connections during peak hour. Without depending much on application provider's expertise I want to achieve maximum o/p from linux. W.r.t. that I have certain questions as following: How to find out if there is scope for further tcp fine-tuning (without exhausting available resources) as the benchmark values given by vendor looks poor! Is there any parameter value that is available from OS / network stack that will show me the results. If at all there is scope, how shall I identify & configure OS tcp stack parameters i.e. using sysctl or any specific parameter Post tuning how shall I clearly measure performance enhancement / degradation ?

  • How to distort the desktop screen

    - by HaifengWang
Hi friends, I want to change the shape of the desktop screen, so what are displayed on the desktop will be distorted at the same time. And the user can still operate the PC with the mouse on the distorted desktop(Run the applications, Open the "My Computer" and so on). I think I must get the projection matrix of the screen coordinate at first. Then transform the matrix, and map the desktop buffer image to the distorted mesh. Are there any interfaces which can modify the shape of the desktop screen in OpenGL or DirectX? Would you please give me some tip on it. Thank you very much in advance. Please refer to the picture from http://oi53.tinypic.com/bhewdx.jpg BR, Haifeng Addition1: I'm sorry! Maybe I didn't express clearly what I want to implement. What I want to implement is to modify the shape of the screen. So we can distort the shapes of all the applications which are run on Windows at the same time. For example that the window of "My Computer" will be distorted with the distortion of the desktop screen. And we can still operate the PC with mouse from the distorted desktop(Click the shortcut to run a program). Addition2: The projection matrix is just my assume. There isn't any desktop projection matrix by which the desktop surface is projected to the screen. What I want to implement is to change the shape of the desktop, as the same with mapping the desktop to an 3D mesh. But the user can still operate the OS on the distorted desktop(Click the shortcut to run a program, open the ie to surf the internet). Addition3: The shapes of all the programs run on the OS are changed with the distortion of the screen. It's realtime. The user can still operate the OS on the distorted screen as usually. Maybe we can intercept or override the GPU itself to implement the effect. I'm investigating GDI, I think I can find some clue for that. The first step is to find how to show the desktop on the screen.

  • Maximum executable size on the iPhone?

    - by Sirp
Is there a maximum size of executables or executables + shared objects on the iPhone? I've been developing an app that has been crashing on startup or early in execution with SIGSYS. Removing code from the program has helped, though structuring data so the code is simply not executed does not. This could be memory corruption, of some kind, however when I compiled with -Os rather than -O2 or -O3 the size of my executable goes down from 5.15MB to 3.60MB and the application runs perfectly. I also have a bunch of libraries I use, of course. I'm wondering, is there a limit on the size of executable code on the iPhone? Or am I just 'getting lucky' and masking memory corruption when I use -Os?

  • MPMoviePlayerController seems to make 2 calls for each movie

    - by user76328
I seem to have an issue where an iphone app using the MPMoviePlayerController seems to make 2 calls to the server for each video it wants to play back. This occurs with iphone 3.x OS and libraries but not with iphone 2.x. I know that iphone does progressive download and will make multiple 206 requests, etc. but as far as our back end is concerned the player appears to make 2 separate sessions. This only appears to be an issue with iPhone native apps and not iphone videos played through safari. Additional info from apple: iPhone OS 3.0 added support for streaming audio and video over HTTP, and MPMoviePlayerController must validate the media before playback to determine if it is streaming content or progressively downloaded content. This is the delay you are experiencing. On a fast network, the delay should be minimized. Is this double check causing 2 sessions be created for each video request? Any one else seeing same issue? Is there a remedy?

After running ObjectAlloc tool, i see that the live bytes is 640Kb and the overall memory is 31,54Mb when the application crash. In the organizer i get a "low memory" report so i guess the app crashed because low memory but the ObjectAllocation data don't make any sense to me... Any ideas? • c++ networking issue- retrnsmittion without ccongestion

    - by gln
I wrote an application in c++ which send data over tcp connection to several machines.as part of the protocol I use in my application, the other side sends hearbeat messages from time to time, then I know that the connection is still alive. now, I want this application to work on 100 machines or more at the same time. but, I see that sometimes I don't get these heartbeat messages although they sent: I see in wireshark that the packet arrived, then my OS doesn't ack on this message, so there are some retransmit without any ack from my OS. if I look in the window size property - I saw that there is no issue in this part. what can be the root cause for this behavior? it is something in my code that I should change? this is my select code: int res = select(fdCount, &readFds, NULL, NULL, NULL ); I'm using server 2008 r2. Please help me! thanks
