My problem is in the dynamic / premium part. I am trying to do the following: 1) in the dynamic controller, lookup the username. 2) if the username is in the user list (database), show the Index ActionResult of the Dynamic controller. 3) if the username is not found, look up the username in the premium list 4) if the username is fund in the premium list (database) then show the Index ActionResult of the Preium controller. 5) If all else fails jump to the 404 page (which will ask the user to sign up) Is this possible? Looking up the user twice is a bad idea for performance? How do I do this without redirecting?

  Greetings, I have gridview with SelectedIndexChanged event. when I click on a record in gridview it should call the SelectedIndexChanged event and do some operations. SelectedIndexChanged event is working OK, but when I put the gridview inside ajax updatepanle SelectedIndexChanged event will not response even if I add AsyncPostBackTrigger trigger for SelectedIndexChanged event. • Javascript self contained sandbox events and client side stack

  I'm in the process of moving a JSF heavy web application to a REST and mainly JS module application . I've watched "scalable javascript application architecture" by Nicholas Zakas on yui theater (excellent video) and implemented much of the talk with good success but i have some questions : I found the lecture a little confusing in regards to the relationship between modules and sandboxes , on one had to my understanding modules should not be effected by something happening outside of their sandbox and this is why they publish events via the sandbox (and not via the core as they do access the core for hiding base libary) but each module in the application gets a new sandbox ? , shouldn't the sandbox limit events to the modoules using it ? or should events be published cross page ? e.g. : if i have two editable tables but i want to contain each one in a different sandbox and it's events effect only the modules inside that sandbox something like messabe box per table which is a different module/widget how can i do that with sandbox per module , ofcourse i can prefix the events with the moduleid but that creates coupling that i want to avoid ... and i don't want to package modules toghter as one module per combination as i already have 6-7 modules ? while i can hide the base library for small things like id selector etc.. i would still like to use the base library for module dependencies and resource loading and use something like yui loader or dojo.require so in fact i'm hiding the base library but the modules themself are defined and loaded by the base library ... seems a little strange to me libraries don't return simple js objects but usualy wrap them e.g. : u can do something like $$('.classname').each(.. which cleans the code alot , it makes no sense to wrap the base and then in the module create a dependency for the base library by executing .each but not using those features makes a lot of code written which can be left out ... and implemnting that functionality is very bug prone does anyonen have any experience with building a front side stack of this order ? how easy is it to change a base library and/or have modules from different libraries , using yui datatable but doing form validation with dojo ... ? some what of a combination of 2+4 if u choose to do something like i said and load dojo form validation widgets for inputs via yui loader would that mean dojocore is a module and the form module is dependant on it ?   I am trying to write a module for an sbc1651. Since the device is ARM, this requires a cross-compile. As a start, I am trying to compile the "Hello Kernel" module found here. This compiles fine on my x86 development system, but when I try to cross-compile I get the below error. /home/developer/HelloKernel/hello-1.mod.c:14: warning: missing initializer /home/developer/HelloKernel/hello-1.mod.c:14: warning: (near initialization for '__this_module.arch.unw_sec_init') Since this is in the .mod.c file, which is autogenerated I have no idea what's going on. The mod.c file seems to be generated by the module.h file. As far as I can tell, the relevant parts are the same between my x86 system's module.h and the arm kernel header's module.h. Adding to my confusion, this problem is either not googleable (by me...) or hasn't happened to anyone before. Or I'm just doing something clueless that anyone with any sense wouldn't do. The cross-compiler I'm using was supplied by Freescale (I think). I suppose it could be a problem with the compiler. Would it be worth trying to build the toolchain myself? Obviously, since this is a warning, I could ignore it, but since it's so strange, I am worried about it, and would like to at least know the cause...   Hello so I have been trying to get my website to run on mono (on ubuntu server) and I have followed these tutorials almost to the letter: However when my directory is not blank fastcgi logs reveal this: Notice Beginning to receive records on connection. This counter now has to be printed on the relative "li" "span" 3 level before. So I have the number of the element with the "new" class. • Form submission info showing up in URL and not working

  I am making a Rails 3.1 app and have a signup form that was working fine, but I seemed to have changed something to break it.. I'm using Twitter bootstrap and twitter_bootstrap_form_for gem. • BluRay audio/video stuttering with PowerDVD 11, WinDVD 11 Pro, etc? Xonar/Auzen HD audio option?

  I recently upgraded my Windows 7 MediaCenter HTPC due to a motherboard failure (really old motherboard and cpu, it was on its last legs.) I chose to upgrade to an i5 system with everything built into the motherboard. I did my due diligence, researched, and found some hardware that was within my budget. I ended up with: Core i5 2500K (3.3Ghz) Corsair XMS3 2x2Gb DDR3 (4Gb) ASUS P8H 61-M LE/CSM MicroCenter 64Gb SSD (Previous BluRay player, forget the brand) The system is pretty awesome, and plays everything I have perfectly. I almost went with an Atom solution, however there have been numerous notes that they do not play NetFlix Instant Watch well...and I am a heavy Netflix IW user. High definition BluRay rips work well, although they usually contain lower audio quality than the BluRay's they were ripped from. The real problem I am encountering is playing back BluRay video from discs. For some reason, I am encountering rather terrible stuttering problems with both the audio and video. The stuttering is synchronous in both, and occurs at seemingly random intervals. I've used PowerDVD 9, PowerDVD 11 trial, and WinDVD 11 Pro trial. All three have stuttering problems, although PowerDVD 11 seems to have the least. Watching system resource usage, CPU load is never above 20%, and memory usage tends to be a constant 1/3rd the total available system memory. When playback is fine, its superb...the video is crystal clear. The audio quality is ok, certainly not what I would expect from a BluRay disc. I did some research, and it seems that playing BluRay from a PC causes a downsampling of the audio? I am curious if the audio is my primary problem here, the cause of the stuttering I am encountering? When stuttering occurs, the audio gets REALLY bad, while the video just pauses momentarily every second until for whatever reason everything picks up and runs fine (usually after a few seconds to a couple minutes.) The audio chipset is a Realtek HD ALC887 8-channel, supposedly designed to support BluRay playback. Has anyone encountered any issues like this playing back bluray discs on a PC (namely with PowerDVD...WinDVD was FAR worse, and seemed to have real trouble even reading the discs, and I have no interest in fiddling with it further.) Is there any reason to suspect the video decoding as the problem?(Given how bad the audio gets during a stutter, and how clean the video remains, I am inclined to think the issue boils down to audio.) Is it even remotely possible that the motherboard, cpu, or ram are causing the stuttering (all three are pretty blazing fast...faster than the hardware that I replaced, which seemed to play BluRay fine with PowerDVD 9.) I've read a bit about the Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 and the Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater HD home theater hi-fi audio cards. Seems they are the only way to get true full-quality, uncompressed BluRay audio bitstreaming over HDMI on a PC. None of the usual suspects seem to have these cards in stock, however. Are these cards worth getting? Are they even still available, or have they been discontinued (if so, that would indeed be sad...they sound simply fantastic.)

• Wired connection periodically disconnects requires ipconfig /release and /renew to reconnect

  I just got back into University and after a day of using the internet I suddenly was unable to visit other webpages even though I was still able to chat. I restarted the computer and the internet could no longer visit webpages at all. I got a DNS error from the browser (chrome) and the troubleshooter. The connection comes up as "Network 3" even though It was "Network 2" when it worked. I compared ipconfig /all logs and they seemed identical when it was and was not working. I've found two ways to get internet connection (they no longer work): run ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew several times set a random address and have the troubleshooter fix the new found dhcp problem (before it says dns cannot fix). I checked and it said DHCP was enabled. But either step one or two usually needs to be repeated several times before the network will change back to "network 2" from the defunct "network 3" and after an hour or so I have problems again. I've tried: Uninstalling windows defender and turning off firewall (windows firewall). Updating Qualcomm Ethernet driver - it is up to date. System Restore (problem resurfaces quickly...it's possible this has something to do with windows update?) Flushing dns and setting dns myself (google one and others). Booting in safe mode with networking...didn't fix anything Reinstalling Ethernet Driver Using other ethernet cable, other wall port. I'm out of ideas. Update: And my two fixes don't work any more :( . • AWS Amazon EC2 - password-less SSH login for non-root users using PEM keypairs

  We've got a couple of clusters running on AWS (HAProxy/Solr, PGPool/PostgreSQL) and we've setup scripts to allow new slave instances to be auto-included into the clusters by updating their IPs to config files held on S3, then SSHing to the master instance to kick them to download the revised config and restart the service. It's all working nicely, but in testing we're using our master pem for SSH which means it needs to be stored on an instance. Not good. I want a non-root user that can use an AWS keypair who will have sudo access to run the download-config-and-restart scripts, but nothing else. rbash seems to be the way to go, but I understand this can be insecure unless setup correctly. So what security holes are there in this approach: New AWS keypair created for user.pem (not really called 'user') New user on instances: user Public key for user is in ~user/.ssh/authorized_keys (taken by creating new instance with user.pem, and copying it from /root/.ssh/authorized_keys) Private key for user is in ~user/.ssh/user.pem 'user' has login shell of /home/user/bin/rbash ~user/bin/ contains symbolic links to /bin/rbash and /usr/bin/sudo /etc/sudoers has entry "user ALL=(root) NOPASSWD: ~user/.bashrc sets PATH to /home/user/bin/ only ~user/.inputrc has 'set disable-completion on' to prevent double tabbing from 'sudo /' to find paths. ~user/ -R is owned by root with read-only access to user, except for ~user/.ssh which has write access for user (for writing known_hosts), and ~user/bin/* which are +x Inter-instance communication uses 'ssh -o StrictHostKeyChecking=no -i ~user/.ssh/user.pem user@ sudo ' Any thoughts would be welcome. • ASP.NET MVC 3: RouteExistingFiles = true seems to have no effect

  I'm trying to understand how RouteExistingFiles works. So I've created a new MVC 3 internet project (MVC 4 behaves the same way) and put a HTMLPage.html file to the Content folder of my project. Now I went to the Global.Asax file and edited the RegisterRoutes function so it looks like this: public static void RegisterRoutes(RouteCollection routes) { routes.RouteExistingFiles = true; //Look for routes before looking if a static file exists routes.MapRoute( "Default", // Route name "{controller}/{action}/{id}", // URL with parameters new {controller = "Home", action = "Index", id = UrlParameter.Optional} // Parameter defaults ); } Now it should give me an error when I'm requesting a localhost:XXXX/Content/HTMLPage.html since there's no "Content" controller and the request definitely hits the default pattern. But instead I'm seeing my HTMLPage. What am I doing wrong here? Update: I think I'll have to give up. Even if I'm adding a route like this one: routes.MapRoute("", "Content/{*anything}", new {controller = "Home", action = "Index"}); it still shows me the content of the HTMLPage. When I request a url like ~/Content/HTMLPage I'm getting the Index page as expected, but when I add a file extenstion like .html or .txt the content is shown (or a 404 error if the file does not exist). If anyone can check this in VS2012 please let me know what result you're getting. Thank you.

  I'm working on a S#arpArchitecture 1.5 project, which uses ASP.NET MVC 2. I've been trying to get areas to work properly but I ran into a problem: The ASP.NET MVC 2 routing engine matches the correct route to my area but then it generates an URL that belongs to the first registered area instead. Here's my request URL: /Framework/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fDefault.aspx I'm using the Route Tester from Phil Haack and it shows: Matched Route: Framework/{controller}/{action}/{id} Generated URL: /Data/Authentication/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2FDefault.aspx using the route "Data/{controller}/{action}/{id}" That's clearly wrong, the URL should point to the Framework area, not the Data area. • MVC controller is being called twice

  Hello, I have a controller that is being called twice from an ActionLink call. My home page has a link, that when clicked calls the Index method on the Play controller. An id of 100 is passed into the method. I think this is what is causing the issue. More on this below. If I leave the parameter in place, then the Index method is called with 100 as the id. After returning the View, the method is called a second time with a parameter of null. • How to require fullscreen mode in a jQTouch application?

  I'm using jQTouch to develop a version of a website optimized for safari on the iphone. The jQTouch demo helpfully shows how to show an "install this" message for users not using full screen mode and hide it for those who are. When in fullscreen mode, the body should have the class "fullscreen." So you can hide the "install this" message for people who have already added your app to their home page by adding this css rule to your stylesheet: body.fullscreen #home .info { display: none; } What I'd like to do is require users to use the app in fullscreen mode only. When viewed from the regular browser, they should only see a message asking them to install the app. That message should of course be hidden otherwise. This ought to be really, really easy, so I must just be missing something obvious. I thought one way to do this would be to simply test for the class "fullscreen" on the body: if it's not there, use goTo to get to another div, or hide the other divs, or something like that. Strangely, however, this doesn't work. As a test, I've still got the original "info" message, as in the jQTouch demo, and it doesn't show up when I launch in fullscreen mode. So the body must have the fullscreen class. And yet I can't find any other trace of it: when I put this alert to test things after the document has loaded, I get nothing when launching in fullscreen mode: alert($("body").attr("class")); I also thought I might test for fullscreen mode by checking for the value of the fullScreen boolean. But this doesn't seem to work either. What am I missing? What is the best way to do this?

• Connecting git to github on windows 7 without bash

  I'm setting up git on my new Windows 7 machine and I'm hitting a roadblock when it comes to getting github to acknowledge my ssh key. I am doing things a little different from the standard script in that I would rather not use cygwin and prefer to use my powershell prompt. The following is what I did: I installed msysgit (portable). I went to C:\program files\git\bin and used ssh-keygen to generate a public/private ssh keypair which I put in c:\Temp I then created a directory named .ssh\ in c:\Users\myusername\ (on windows 7) I moved both the files generated by the ssh-keygen (id_rsa and id_rsa.pub) into the .ssh directory I went to my account on github, created a new public key, copy-pasted the contents of id_rsa.pub into it and saved I now go to my powershell prompt, set-alias git 'C:\program files\git\bin\git.exe' I try to now do a clone [email protected]:togakangaroo/ps-profile.git which rejects my authentication: Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly Past experience says that this means git is not recognizing my key. What steps am I missing? I have a feeling that I need to somehow configure git so that it knows where my ssh keys are (though it would seem it should look there automatically) but I don't know how to do that. Another possible clue is that when I try to run git config --global user.name "George Mauer" I get an error fatal: $HOME not set I did however set up a HOME environment user variable with the value %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH%

  I am very confused the View and corresponding controller has to be set in MVC 1.0 project structure. Currently in a default application we have About.aspx page under Home folder and all the controller action is handled in HomeController. This controller mixes up Home action and About action. It makes things messy. I like to have clear separation of my controller. Like to have one About Controller and HomeCotroller separately. For it I have create another folder "About" under view folder and place Aboput.aspx in it , otherwise we will get the error below. How can I achieve it ?? I like to have exact folder structure as in View, same as in Cotroller. The view 'About' or its master could not be found. The following locations were searched: ~/Views/About/About.aspx ~/Views/About/About.ascx ~/Views/Shared/About.aspx ~/Views/Shared/About.ascx Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request.
