• Subversion Deployment tools: specify branch/tag, revision and target machine

  What are some non commercial deployment tools that allows a developer to speficy: a branch/tag, a revision and a target machine to deploy code to? I was wondering if there's a ccnet plugin of some sort that would allow the above to be specified. I know this could be done with a NAnt deploy script. However considering we're mostly using gui tools for feedback, plus the tortoise svn repository browser, it be cool to lear if there's an GUI simple GUI tool/plugin cheers.

Are there any IDEs (mainstream or not) or IDE plugins that use a non-linear widget, such as a tree? (e.g., pick category first, then the actual recommendation)? I'm working on an IDE feature and want to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel or infringing some patent.

I'm developing a website that will be targeted at a somewhat less geeky audience (but not quite Mom and Pops either) so I have to wonder if OpenID is going to be "too hard" for some audiences.   Just wondering if its possible to set a default tablespace in postgres to keep indexes. Would like the databases to live on the default tablespace for postgres, however, would like to get the indexes on a different set of disks just to keep the i/o traffic separated. It does not appear to me that it can be done without going in and doing an ALTER index TABLESPACE command, and then the index is moved and will stay there, but the databases and indexes are part of a django app, so non-django intervention can cause some problems.

• Null pointer exception on .iterator() call

  I'm getting a strange NullPointerException, evidently thrown by the following line of code: Iterator<Note> it = notes.iterator(); I've checked, and at the time the java.util.TreeSet notes is always non-null (with 15 elements). The TreeSet API says nothing about iterator() throwing NullPointerExceptions. What else could be going here?

  In the document, it mentions that we can have a dispatch interval such that page view will be automatically dispatched after x seconds. I have the code like the following tracker.startNewSession("UA-YOUR-ACCOUNT-HERE", 20, this); I sure trackPageView() is called as I can see those pageview are stored into "google_analytics.db" which is the database that google analyitcs used to store non-dispatching pageview. However, it doesn't send to Google Analytics after 20 seconds In log, it keeps reporting scheduling next dispatch when I call trackPageView().

  I often use Excel with pivot tables based on .cub files for OLAP-type analysis. This is great except when you want to move the xls and you realise internally it's got a non-relative reference to the location of the .cub file. How can we cope with this - ie make it convenient to move around xls files that depend on .cub files? The best answer I could come up with is writing a macro that updates the pivot tables' reference to the .cub file location....so I'll pop that in an answer.

However, it doesn't appear to let me do this. It seems like it will allow me to define players if I make it a non-static member variable however.   I'm looking at the possibility of using Android as a secure corporate mobile platform. One of the pre-requisites for this will be a way of managing multiple devices, security policies, software deployment, that sort of thing - essentially the things the BlackBerry Enterprise Server handles for BlackBerry or MDM (or something 3rd party like SOTI) handles for Windows Mobile. Does such a thing exist for Android? It's a platform we're interested in but without this right now (and we're not in a position to build it ourselves) it's a non-starter.

  Hi stackies, I'm programmatically putting various TextViews into a LinearLayout with a horizontal orientation. After 2h of research I couldn't find out how to tell Android not to squeeze all the TextViews in one line but instead to "float" non-fitting TextViews into the next line. I know there isn't something like actual "lines" in a LinearLayout, but how can I tell the TextViews to actually behave like floating DIVs from the HTML world? Thanks alot! Be well S.
