  Hello, We have run into an issue where we have an existing Alias, and we would like to add a rewrite rule to catch all variations of case-insensitive spellings, ie: URL: http://www.example.com/example Alias /example "/var/www/html/web/example" We need a rewrite rule to catch: /ExamPle /exampLE /eXAmple etc ...   I have this script that I am currently running that works great for all instances but one: #!/bin/sh pdfopt test.pdf test.opt.pdf &>/dev/null pdf2swf test.opt.pdf test.swf [ "$?" -ne 0 ] && exit 2 More lines to execute follow the above code ... How would I go about changing this script to run "pdf2swf test.pdf test.swf" if "pdf2swf test.opt.pdf test.swf" fails? If the second attempt fails, then I would "exit 2". Thanks

• Compiling SWC file from FDT

  Hi guys, I've made a library which I'd like to compile to an SWC file, I've tried to do this in FDT by choosing FDT AS3 Library as Run settings, but all I end up with is a 0kb .swc file. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? I can't find much when I google it either, if anybody has a quick walkthrough on how to do it saved in your bookmarks or something, that would be great! • Is there a tool out there that lets you print a colour chart / palette of colours used on a web page

  I want to print a table of the colours used in a web page that my graphic designer has produced - I have .png files at present and use Fireworks to view them. It would be great if there was a tool that lets you print a table with the colour and hex value so I can easily reference when programming. Anyone come across such a thing? Sounds to me like there should be a firefox extension or similar?

  Hi, Here's what I'm trying to do: joomla in 1 subdirectory, wordpress in another. mysite.com directs to the joomla directory mysite.com/blog gives wordpress. I would also like to use seo friendly permalinks for both. I am using Zeus Linux shared hosting with Joomla 1.5 and wordpress 2.9.2, and having a great deal of trouble finding a suitable rewrite script. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

• How can I get Rails to interpret a text field as a datetime

  My database has a datetime field, and I want to be able to create new entries. Obviously the Rails datetime_select helper isn't the most user friendly thing to have in your form. I'd rather have a text field for the datetime (or one for the date, and one for the time) and interpret the inputs like PHP strtotime can. I might just be searching the wrong keywords. Surely this has been discussed in great depth somewhere. Thanks :0)

• Can I use a single DateTime field on the Entity Framework model side when the value is stored in a set of Int fields in the actual database?

  The actual table in the database has separate integer fields for storing year, month, day, hour and minute values (all in UTC) (seconds and milliseconds are irrelevant for my task and considered equal to zero). Needless to say it would be of great convenience to have just one field of DateTime type on the application side and hide all the conversion under the cover of the Entity Framework model code. Any directions on how to do that? I am not very experienced with Entity Framework yet.

• ASP.NET UpdateProgress template does not disapper when panel in UpdatePanel has display set to none

  I am using very simple code where I have a update panel with some panels inside and a submit button. On submit, i hide one of the panels using this code: panel.Style.Add("display", "none"); I am also using a UpdateProgress which works great in all but this case. When i set the display to none using this code, the UpdateProgress template does not disappear! remove the line, all is well .... No idea why...

  Hey, My head is about to explode with this logic, can anyone help? Class A #imports Class B. Class A calls Method A in Class B. This works great Class B wants to send a response back to Class A from another method that is called from Method A. If you #import Class A from Class B, it is in effect an infinite loop and the whole thing crashes. Is there a way to do this properly, like a parent type thing? BTW, I'm developing for iPhone.

• Java - Console-like web applet.

  Hey, I've been developing an application in the windows console with Java, and want to put it online in all of its console-graphics-glory. Is there a simple web applet API I can use to port my app over? I'm just using basic System.out and System.in functionality, but I'm happy to rebuild my I/O wrappers. I think something along these lines would be a great asset to any beginning Java developers who want to put their work online.
