How do you remind your Scrum Product Owner about his promises/actions?

** EDIT: Rephrased the question to re-focus ** Our Scrum team meets as seldomly as possible, but we meet with the product owner every chance we get. We track everyone's agreed action points (particularly theirs). We are 100% agile, but our product owner lives in traditional world, we remain off-site. We facilitate him in crossing over to our fast-paced world. There's not much wrong. The team and the PO are in good spirits. PO is present at every meeting and positively energized. Just imagine this person as a 70 year old, slow grandpa, who is forgetful, yet kind. In reality he isn't, but he is used to a working environment (public servants) that is much slooooower. Manyana-manyana etc. It is frustrating for my team to cooperate: PO lives in a non-prioritized environment, and everyone in it has learned the productivity-technique of NGTD (Not Getting Things Done). He WANTS to, it's just that he forgets or 'sinks' somewhere along the away. We have experimented with a text file, maintained by the Scrum master (low-tech), which he broadcasts by e-mail every day JIRA, our issue tracker. Turns out this is nice for programmers, but too steep for 'regular people' I Googled for Issue tracking webtools but came up empty handed: All tools are aimed at IT issue tracking, instead of meeting action point tracking/planning for mere mortals. I did find TODO-lists like RememberTheMilk, but they don't track comments, and - to be honest - I doubt we could get our product owner to use it (too complicated). We have three requirements: Register action points, assign to a team member and a deadline Offer anyone to 'comment' on progress of any action point Do not build our own tool from scratch We do not need: - impressive authorization models, - multi-project, - workflow, - crosslinking. Is there any trick/tool you use to assist your product owner 'fly' like the rest of the rest of the team? Communication before tools I agree with the general consensus that one should not try to apply technology to a communication problem, however in this case I am merely looking for a tool to save me time in setting up prioritized lists. I found www.thymer.com today, may be what I am looking for. The guys are cool. It is getting rather feature-bloated though.

Why I can't draw in a loop? (Using UIView in iPhone)

Why? and how to fix it? I can draw all the things in my First code, but after I take the loop outside, and use the loop in last code, it just only draw the last one. Plz help

Solution to combine two submit buttons.. doing two different things from the same input

I am trying to figure out how to combine two different forms, both require the same input but they do two different things. One form sends a request to the ecommerce platform to get the order status, and another form takes the same order number and returns a tracking code from USP or USPS. I am looking for some guidance on how I could combine these two actions.. one is currently using the POST method and the other GET. Here is an example .. so one is This one runs a validation script to confirm the order number is valid and then returns the order info if it is the second form is sending a get request to an asp file that is generating the proper tracking numbers. Can someone please point me to how I could begin to tackle this?

Table-per-type inheritance insert problem

I followed this article on making a table-per-type inheritance model for my entities, but I get the following error when I try to add an instance of a subclass to the database. Here is how I create the subtype: var cust = db.Users.CreateObject<Customer>(); // Customer inherits User db.Users.AddObject(cust); db.SaveChanges(); I get the following error when I make that last call: "A value shared across entities or associations is generated in more than one location. Check that mapping does not split an EntityKey to multiple store-generated columns." With the following inner exception: "An item with the same key has already been added." Any ideas on what I could be missing?

CouchDB Versioning / Auditing

I'm attempting to use CouchDB for a system that requires full auditing of all data operations. Because of its built in revision-tracking, couch seemed like an ideal choice. But then I read in the O'Reilly textbook that "CouchDB does not guarantee that older versions are kept around." I can't seem to find much more documentation on this point, or how couch deals with its revision-tracking internally. Is there any way to configure couch either on a per-database, or per-document level to keep all versions around forever? If so, how?

iPhone - Switch Tab from UIWebView

I have a webview and I want to manually switch to another tab during a specific event. The event is arbitray, but I can't figure out hwo to switch teh tab. On my other views, I have the following code: self.tabBarController.selectedViewController = [self.tabBarController.viewControllers objectAtIndex:2]; However, this does not work in my custom UIWebView class. Is there a simple solution to this? Thanks

When calling CRUD check if "parent" exists with read or join?

All my entities can not be deleted - only deactivated, so they don't appear in any read methods (SELECT ... WHERE active=TRUE). Now I have some 1:M tables on this entities on which all CRUD operations can be executed. What is more efficient or has better performance? My first solution: To add to all CRUD operations: UPDATE ... JOIN entity e ... WHERE e.active=TRUE My second solution: Before all CRUD operations check if entity is active: if (getEntity(someId) != null) { //do some CRUD } In getEntity there's just SELECT * FROM entity WHERE id=? AND active=TRUE. Or any other solution, recommendation,...?

Objective-C retain counts in dealloc

I'm seeing something fairly strange here, I've got breakpoints set in various dealloc methods in my app, and on inspection, the retain counts of the object self varies from 1 to 0. When dealloc is called, will the retain count of the object be set to 0 already? I'm using print (int) [self retainCount] in the console to test this. The 0's seem to only appear in the dealloc of my NSOperation's that are being run in an NSOperationQueue. Any idea why this is?

If I try to call it like this, I receive an error: [self functionToBeCalled:]; But, if I try to call it like this (cheating a bit, I think), it works fine: [self functionToBeCalled:0]; What is the proper way to call it though?

Entity Framework: Setting EntityReference EntityKey causes exception on save

I have a table with a ModifiedUserID field that is a foreign key to a User table. In entity framework, I'm loading the first table, but not the users table. I have the user ID of the current user, and would like to set the ModifiedUserID to that value for all entities that have been modified prior to saving. Before calling SaveChanges(), I use the ObjectStateManager to get all modified entities. Since I do not have the user object, but I do have the user ID, I set the EntityReference.EntityKey property as follows: entity.UserReference.EntityKey = New EntityKey("MyContainer.User", "UserID", DatabaseUserID) This works fine, but when I execute SaveChanges(), I receive the following error: A relationship is being added or deleted from an AssociationSet 'FK_Table1_User'. With cardinality constraints, a corresponding 'Table1' must also be added or deleted. Now, I see that setting the EntityReference.EntityKey creates a new AssociationSet entry, but how to I prevent this error?

Does anyone have a recommendation for an open-source or paid (either packaged or SaaS) solution for integrating collaborative development features into your own website? Here's more details: We currently host an online plugin gallery for our product. Users can upload and download plugins. But users can't easily collaborate on a plugin's development, can't easily report and track bugs on a plugin, can't easily track a plugin's versions or roadmap, etc. Of course, contributors can host their plugin development on github, sourceforge, google code, codeplex, etc. But keeping users on our website has some advantages. Hidden divs for "lazy javascript" loading? Possible security/other issues?

I'm curious about people's opinion's and thoughts about this situation. The reason I'd like to lazy load javascript is because of performance. Loading javascript at the end of the body reduces the browser blocking and ends up with much faster page loads. But there is some automation I'm using to generate the html (django specifically). This automation has the convenience of allowing forms to be built with "Widgets" that output content it needs to render the entire widget (extra javascript, css, ...). The problem is that the widget wants to output javascript immediately into the middle of the document, but I want to ensure all javascript loads at the end of the body. How to read a column in a tab-delimited Excel file in C#?

I have some data of an excel file below. At first, I figured that reading from the file could be done using the Excel Library then using an OLEDB connection. I managed to get the DocumentNo column data with the OLEDB approach. However, when the excel file is closed, I am unable to do the operation because it gives an error that "External table is not in the expected format." Hi, I have a method used to save an image when the user clicks Save. I use performSelectorInBackground to save the image, the viewcontroller is popped and the previous viewcontroller is shown. I want the table (on the previousUIViewController) to reload its data when the imagesaving is done. How can I do this? How to expose an entity via alternate keys with spring data rest

Spring-data-rest does a great job exposing entities via their primary key for GET, PUT and DELETE etc. operations. /myentityies/123 It also exposes search operations. /myentities/search/byMyOtherKey?myOtherKey=123 In my case the entities have a number of alternate keys. The systems calling us, will know the objects by these IDs, rather than our internal primary key. Is it possible to expose the objects via another URL and have the GET, PUT and DELETE handled by the built-in spring-data-rest controllers? /myentities/myotherkey/456 We'd like to avoid forcing the calling systems to have to make two requests for each update. I've tried playing with @RestResource path value, but there doesn't seem to be a way to add additional paths.

Object leak using "retain"

I have a property defined with retain attribute which I am synthesizing: @property (nonatomic, retain) UISwitch *mySwitch; And inside my loadView I am doing this: self.mySwitch = [[UISwitch alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 40, 20)]; And finally inside my dealloc I am doing this: self.mySwitch = nil; Am I leaking this object (mySwitch) as I have used one alloc? Should I autorelease it while assigning it frame? Please suggest.
