• New NCover 3.4.2 makes all my MSTest unit tests fail

  Yesterday, I decided to install the newest NCover version (3.4.2). However, when I ran it on my existing .ncover configuration file, the NCover output suddenly reported that all my MSTest tests failed. Of course those tests succeed when ran within Visual Studio. Because of this, NCover isn't able to determine any coverage. Somehow the old configuration doesn't seem to work with the new version. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be or how to solve it? Btw. Here is my ncover configuration. • Hadoop in a RESTful Java Web Application - Conflicting URI templates

  I have a small Java Web Application in which I am using Jersey 1.12 and the Hadoop 1.0.0 JAR file (hadoop-core-1.0.0.jar). When I deploy my application to my JBoss 5.0 server, the log file records the following error: SEVERE: Conflicting URI templates. The URI template / for root resource class org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.server.namenode.web.resources.NamenodeWebHdfsMethods and the URI template / transform to the same regular expression (/.*)? To make sure my code is not the problem, I have created a fresh web application that contains nothing but the Jersey and Hadoop JAR files along with a small stub. Any suggestions or tips in solving this problem would be greatly appreciated.

• Why is my Extension Method not showing up in my test class?

  I created an extension method called HasContentPermission on the System.Security.Principal.IIdentity interface: namespace System.Security.Principal { public static bool HasContentPermission (this IIdentity itentity, int contentID) { // I do stuff here return result; } } And I call it like this: bool hasPermission = User.Identity.HasPermission(contentID); Works like a charm. Now I want to unit test it. To do that, all I really need to do is call the extension method directly, so: using System.Security.Principal; namespace MyUnitTests { [TestMethod] public void HasContentPermission_PermissionRecordExists_ReturnsTrue() { IIdentity identity; bool result = identity.HasContentPermission(... But HasContentPermission won't intellisense. I tried creating a stub class that inherits from IIdentity, but that didn't work either. Why? Or am I going about this the wrong way?

All he has shared with me is a WSDL file and a document about the description of the the different operations. Question:- 1: What do I need to do consume these web services in my java project? I have been advised to use axis2, eclipse with tomcat6. 2: Do I need to ask for some other files/information from WS vendor OR wsdl file is enough to consume these web services? 3: Do I need to write a java WS client (using axis2 plugin) or another webservice which will talk to vendor web service? Please suggest the best possible way. I am sorry if the question sounds like a naive..

Sorry for such a simple question. I also cannot do not see CXF as a Project Facet as per http://help.eclipse.org/helios/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.jst.ws.jaxws.doc.user/gettingstarted/requirements.html I know this is something to do with getting Eclipse aware of CXF libraries, but cant find the tutorial for this.

• Possible Performance Considerations using Linq to SQL Repositories

  I have an ASP.NET MVC application that uses Linq to SQL repositories for all interactions with the database. To deal with data security, I do trimming to filter data to only those items to which the user has access. This occurs in several places: Data in list views Links in a menu bar A treeview on the left hand side containing links to content Role-based security A special security attribute, inheriting from AuthorizeAttribute, that implements content-based authorization on every controller method. Each of these places instantiates a repository, which opens a Linq to Sql DataContext and accesses the database. So, by my count, each request for a page access opens at least six separate Linq to SQL DataContexts. Should I be concerned about this from a performance perspective, and if so, what can be done to mitigate it?

• web service filling gridview awfully slow, as is paging/sorting

• AS3 Camera denied if loaded in a parent SWF

  Hi, I have a child SWF file that has the Camera functionality. It works fine if I run the child SWF by itself. However, when I load the child SWF into a parent SWF, the Camera functionality does not work. Doing some tracing it says that Camera access is denied. That happens without me even clicking on the deny button and in fact the usual security popup does not even show up. I have added import flash.system.Security; flash.system.Security.allowDomain("*"); to both parent and child SWF. What am I missing? It's Flash 10 player. Thank you, Tee

• Optimizing MySQL statement with lot of count(row) an sum(row+row2)...

  I need to use InnoDB storage engine on a table with about 1mil or so records in it at any given time. It has records being inserted to it at a very fast rate, which are then dropped within a few days, maybe a week. The ping table has about a million rows, whereas the website table only about 10,000. My statement is this: select url from website ws, ping pi where ws.idproxy = pi.idproxy and pi.entrytime > curdate() - 3 and contentping+tcpping is not null group by url having sum(contentping+tcpping)/(count(*)-count(errortype)) < 500 and count(*) > 3 and count(errortype)/count(*) < .15 order by sum(contentping+tcpping)/(count(*)-count(errortype)) asc; I added an index on entrytime, yet no dice. Can anyone throw me a bone as to what I should consider to look into for basic optimization of this query. The result set is only like 200 rows, so I'm not getting killed there.

  I've got a problem when using Shoes. I'm basically trying to open an excel document and pass the names of the worksheets to a list_box. The following method is called on a button press after selecting a file. • Haskell: Pattern Matching with Lists

  I'm trying to make a function that takes in a list, and if one of the elements is negative, then any elements in that list that are equal to its positive counterpart should be changed to 0. Eg, if there is a -2 in a list, then all 2's in that list should be changed to 0. Any ideas why it only works for some cases and not others?   Hello, I am trying to set up security within a web.config file for a WCF service hosted in IIS but keep getting the error message: Security settings for this service require 'Anonymous' Authentication but it is not enabled for the IIS application that hosts this service. I have read Nicholas Allen’s blog (link text) and it appears that this is the route that I need to take. However, I am using “binaryMessageEncoding” in a customBinding for my Silverlight service, and as such, I’m not sure how to apply this type of security to such an element. • How to specify schema location in an xsd file?

  I have an xsd file Foo.xsd. I tried following ways to refer it in a WSDL file but it doesnt work. 1) placed the xsd file in local file system and imported it as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="file:///D:/wsdl/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> 2) Placed the xsd file in web root folder and imported as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="http://localhost:8080/Xfire/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> When I run the client I get null for the fields of response object. But this works when I embed the type definition inside the WSDL itself. How do we specify the path to external xsds? I am using xFire 1.2.6 for generating webservices. Client is generated using xFire WSGen ant task.

• I can't change a value, for a web service using an axiom client!

  Hi.I just started learning about web serices. I succesfuly installed Tomcat, and deployed axis2 on it. I followed the tutorial from here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html . I made the StockQuoteService web service, moved the .aar file in the WEB-INF/services folder and tested it - it worked all fine. Then I made a client for the servce. I took the source code of the file AXIOMClient.java from the dir described here http://ws.apache.org/axis2/1_1_1/quickstartguide.html#clientaxiom , imported the classes in Eclipse Java IDE and runned it. I tested and the update method works from the browser when calling http://localhost:8080/axis2/services/StockQuoteService/update?symbol=WSO&price=144 But from my java client update method is not working at all, when calling getPrice I always receive 42.00. What am I doing wrong? or, how can I trace what is happening?

When I request a page, a Security Exception will be happen with this error messages: "LinkDemand The type of the first permission that failed was: System.Security.Permissions.SecurityPermission The Zone of the assembly that failed was: MyComputer ". My question is, why will a get a LinkDemand security exception during collecting the source listeners. What can maybe be wrong in here?

• Using both RolesAllowed and Transactional in beans

  I have some beans which contain methods which are annotated with both @RolesAllowed and @Transactional. I have one Spring config file which utilizes a BeanNameAutoProxyCreator for Security related beans and another Spring config file which utilizes a BeanNameAutoProxyCreator for Transactional related beans. The problem is that some beans contain both security as well as transactional-related beans. So Spring creates proxies for one set of beans. It then tries to create proxies for the other set of beans. When it does, it tries to create proxies of the proxies and bombs out. Has anyone tried to configure both security and transactionality in the same beans via Spring? What's the trick? Thanks.

• Help with understanding why UAC dialog pops up on Win7 for our application

  We have a C++ unmanaged application that appears to cause a UAC prompt. It seems to happen on Win7 and NOT on Vista Unfortunately the UAC dlg is system modal so I can't attach a debugger to check in the code where it is, and running under msdev (we're using 2008) runs in elevated mode. We put a message box at the start of our program/winmain but it doesn't even get that far, so apparently this is in the startup code. What can cause a UAC notification so early and what other things can I do to track down the cause? EDIT Apparently the manifest is an important issue here, but it seems not to be helping me - or perhaps I am not configuring the manifest file correctly. Can someone provide a sample manifest? Also, does the linker/UAC magic figure out that the program "might" write to the registry and set its UAC requirements based on that? There are code paths that might trigger UAC, but we are not even at that point when the UAC dlg comes up. An additional oddity is that this does not seem to happen on Vista with UAC turned on.   Hi! I have following problem - i`m running Java WS application. The server side (Axis2 WS Modules on Apache Tomcat) is running at Ubuntu server. The problem is when i get some information from client side in cyrilic and store in database it goes like "?????". If i add data in db directly(From Remote MYSQL Console - there is NO problem). Before move to ubuntu server side was at Windows XP and there was no problem? Sorry for bad explanation, but i have no idea where to start! Thanks in advance!

  I have the following structure in a Java Web Application: TheProject -- [Web Pages] -- -- [WEB-INF] -- -- -- abc.txt -- -- index.jsp -- [Source Packages] -- -- [wservices] -- -- -- WS.java In WS.java, I am using the following code in a Web Method: InputStream fstream = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("abc.txt"); But it is always returning a null. I need to read from that file, and I read that if you put the files in WEB-INF, you can access them with getResourceAsStream, yet the method is always returning a null. Any ideas of what I may be doing wrong? Btw, the strange thing is that this was working, but after I performed a Clean and Build on the Project, it suddenly stopped working :/

• How can i allow people in my local network to access the web service in my machine?

  I have coded a web service using the Axis 2 framework and I can successfully invoke it using a test client (SoapUI) on the local machine after publishing the application in JBoss 5. I can post to the WS endpoint from the local machine and get the expected response. Now i want to allow other machines to access the web service. i changed the "localhost" to "my own fixed IP" adress at the end point location, and turned firewall off, but impossible to access the WS. Note : windows Xp SP3. Any idea ? Thanks in advance !!

• Expose jar resources over web

  I have a web-service (with Spring-WS). I have a jar with several schemas (schema1.xsd, schema2.xsd and schema3.xsd) which I include in my web service. Is there a way to expose the schemas from the jar through a servlet somehow in my web-service wep app? My Spring MessageDispatcherServlet is mapped to /ws/ I would like my schemas to be exposed to /schemas/schema1.xsd /schemas/schema2.xsd and so on. I have an idea how to do it with a servlet, but it's too verbose and there has to be a nicer way. The way I am thinking is have a servlet filter and everything that hits /schemas/ check if it is in my list of allowed resources and display it. This has to be a server agnostic solution. (For instance http://tuckey.org/urlrewrite/ will not work). Thanks.

  Can any one please help me by giving a query or an idea which helps me? I am looking for a query which returns the users and logins in a sql server 2008 r2 instance. If some one has added/updated a user/permissions in next day- if we run a script it should revert all the changes to the previous day status. Let me give you an example On Wednesday the database security is fine On Thursday someone goes into the SQL instance and changes several database user security settings. This creates lots of problems. On Wednesday if we run a script on the SQL instance and it should reset the database user security back to what it was on Wednesday. Someone please help me in this regard, Its very urgent..............Please..........
