• can't register a soft phone to asterisk11

  I have a VM (on oracle vbox) running Fedora17. I've installed asterisk 11 on it from sources. I've followed the wiki for installation (https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/Creating+SIP+Accounts) to the letter. The ip on the VM machine running fedora is 192.168.1.7 and I can ping it from the host machine (Ubuntu 12.04), which is at 192.168.1.2 I've tried registering with ekiga with the following settings: user: [email protected]. Password: verysecretpassword registar: 192.168.1.7 but I'm getting an error "transport fail". Also, while trying to register I'm logged in to the asterisk CLI with verbose level 3 and debug level 4 and nothing appears. some more relevant data: I've added the following code to the end of my sip.conf.sample file: [demo-alice] type=friend host=dynamic secret=verysecretpassword context=users deny=0.0.0.0/0 permit=192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 [demo-bob] type=friend host=dynamic secret=othersecretpassword context=users deny=0.0.0.0/0 permit=192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0 After I changed the sip.conf.sample file, I've created a copy of it and named it sip.conf. then I logged in to the asterisk CLI and typed sip reload. Then I'm trying to register and ekiga client from my host machine at 192.168.1.2 but it doesn't work and nothing appears on the asterisk CLI while in verbose mode level 3. • Could someone give me their two cents on this optimization strategy

  Background: I am writing a matching script in python that will match records of a transaction in one database to names of customers in another database. The complexity is that names are not unique and can be represented multiple different ways from transaction to transaction. Rather than doing multiple queries on the database (which is pretty slow) would it be faster to get all of the records where the last name (which in this case we will say never changes) is "Smith" and then have all of those records loaded into memory as you go though each looking for matches for a specific "John Smith" using various data points. Would this be faster, is it feasible in python, and if so does anyone have any recommendations for how to do it?

  Hi, I'm studding a way of using Google Analytics to track Ad impressions/clicks. Looks like event tracking is the way to go. Tracking clicks it's easy to implement. My doubt resides on impressions: using event tracking on page load will cut down my bounce rate to 0 using a second profile doesn't look elegant (leave it for last resource) GOAL: John loads page A and leave. Count 1 for impressions and 1 for bounce rate as it should. Is there a way of doing it with Google Analytics?

  Hi there: I defined in my code two classes: a "Person" class with public "Age" and "Name" property, and a "People" class that inherits from Generic.List(of T). The code for People class is as followed: Public Class People Inherits Collections.Generic.List(Of Person) ... End Class What I want to achieve is to directly initialize the People class, and add individual Person to it in XAML, i.e.: <local:People x:Key="Familty"> <local:Person Age="11" Name="John" /> <local:Person Age="12" Name="John2" /> ... </local:People> But I keep getting an error in XAML saying: The type 'People' does not support direct content.   My site does some short ajax call in JSON format, using jQuery. At client-side i'd like to send object just passing it in ajax function, without being forced to wrap it in an object literal like this: {'person' : person}. For the same reasons, at server-side i'd like to manage objects without the binding of $_GET['person'] or $_POST['person']. For example: var person = { 'name' : 'John', 'lastName' : 'Doe', 'age' : 32, 'married' : true } sendAjaxRequest(person); in php, using: $person = json_decode(file_get_contents("php://input")); i can get easily the object, but only with POST format, not in GET. Any suggestions?

• Indexed key vs indexed separate columns, which one is faster ?

  In MYSQL, from a pure performance perspective, if I have a table with large amount of data with 10/1 read/write ratio. is it faster in read/write performance to have 4 search criteria in separate columns and all indexed or have them combined in to one single string acting as a key and store in one indexed column ? e.g. say this table with 5 columns, first name, last name, sex, country and file where the first four columns will ALWAYS be given as a part of search parameters in a search or have a table with two columns, key and file. where the value of key can be john-smith-male-australia ?? I don't quite get the pros and cons. the point I try to stress is the fact that all parameters will be given.in a search.

Is there a special function to do this in C#. The only way I know how to do this is thru Attributes/Annotation describing the length and start position of string. Any other suggestion?

• is it possible to use a python scrapper in a website?

  I want to scrap a website and use that content in a website of my own. I am just wondering if that can be done with python 2.7, and if so how? If not, do I have to use JavaScript to scrap it? And do you have a good place to learn how to do that or good libraries for it. For those of you wondering, the website I am scrapping is legal, and they allow for this to be done. I have searched all over but apparently nobody tries to implement these scrappers that they write. I can write a web scrapper in python just fine. Say my scrapper scraps a name from a wikipedia page (John Doe for example), how can I use that name that I get in my website? Another update, I have found pjsrape and PhantomJS. I have only found one stack overflow post and the github examples with aren't very intuitive. If anybody has any experience or better ways to do it I would very much appreciate it

  i am retrieving different characters from a string by using thsi function and adding 5 to them to display the corresponding character for eg. I need to find every user (ideally the entire first line of the above) that has SYSPRV under "Default Permissions". This results in the record data prior to FindKey being issued being displayed in data aware components. • Subprocess with variables & Command from different class

As you can see below what i mean class Controller: def __init__(self): self.model = Model() self.view = View() def main(self): data = self.model.filename() self.view.tcpdump(data) class View: def tcpdump(self, command): subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) When i run my code i get this error: subprocess.call(command.split(), shell=False) AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'split' My guess means that its not picking up command (look at source for reference) or that its not getting command with variables. But i know the error when variables are not being picked up so i don't think it is that.   What is the best way to share a virtual server with friends? More precisely, I have the following assets: A virtual private server (Debian Lenny) with root access for myself, running... SSH apache2 mysql Some unused disk space Some friends in need of hosting The problem I would now like to do the following: Hosting one or several domains per friend My friends should have full access to their domains, including running PHP scripts, for example My friends should not be able to poke around in other directories The security of my server should not be compromised by faulty PHP scripts To clarify: I do trust my friends in the sense that they are not trying to do something evil with their access. I just do not trust the programs they are going to run. So, what are your recommendations for establishing such a scenario? Partial solution I already came up with the following plan: Add chrooted SSH users for my friends Add Apache vhosts per user (point the directories to subdirectories of the homedirectories, i.e. /home/alice/example.com, /home/bob/example.net, etc. But how can I enforce a chroot-like environment for the scripts they are running within these vhosts? Any pointers would be appreciated.

  This is a Canonical Question about File Permissions on a Linux web server. I have a Linux web server running Apache2 that hosts several websites. Each website has its own folder in /var/www/. /var/www/contoso.com/ /var/www/contoso.net/ /var/www/fabrikam.com/ The base directory /var/www/ is owned by root:root. Apache is running as www-data:www-data. The Fabrikam website is maintained by two developers, Alice and Bob. Both Contoso websites are maintained by one developer, Eve. All websites allow users to upload images. If a website is compromised, the impact should be as limited as possible. I want to know the best way to set up permissions so that Apache can serve the content, the website is secure from attacks, and the developers can still make changes. One of the websites is structured like this: /var/www/fabrikam.com /cache /modules /styles /uploads /index.php How should the permissions be set on these directories and files? I read somewhere that you should never use 777 permissions on a website, but I don't understand what problems that could cause. During busy periods, the website automatically caches some pages and stores the results in the cache folder. All of the content submitted by website visitors is saved to the uploads folder.

  Hey, folks. I'm looking for some regular expressions to help grab street addresses and phone numbers from free-form text (a la Gmail). Given some text: "John, I went to the store today, and it was awesome! Did you hear that they moved to 500 Green St.? ... Give me a call at +14252425424 when you get a chance." I'd like to be able to pull out: 500 Green St. (recognized as a street address) +14252425424 (recognized as a phone number) What makes this problem easier is that I don't care about parsing text that gets pulled out. That is, I don't care that Green is the name of the road or that 425 is the area code. I just want to grab strings that "look like" addresses or telephone numbers. Unfortunately, this needs to work internationally, as best as possible. Anyone have any leads? Thanks!

  hello I want to execute a .exe file on my Apache server using a php script. the procedure is as follow: 1- user comes, fills a html form 2- it goses to a php script 3- php script executes the name.exe file 4- php prints the output of the name.exe file on the page. I execute the name.exe normally from windows like this: run--> cmd--> D:\name [command] the name.exe needs to communicate with other files like libraries in the same directory. the complete comand in cmd at windows is like this: D:\name library.dll [input from user] then program executes and prints some results in cmd window. I actually want to run this program on my server form my clients. I dont know how, but I now there is a way to do this. another related questoin is that, is there any shell that i can install on Linux server and execute name.exe in it? thanks in advanced, John.
