    I was hoping to keep cross-browser compatibility and afaik this is the only issue so far. .setAttribute("onclick", "return showRapidText("+itemnum+");"); This works PERFECT but I'd like to make it IE compatible by putting it in this syntax .onclick = new Function("fnDisplay_Computers('" + alines[i] + "')"); so... I tried .onclick = new Function("showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and .onclick = new Function("return showRapidText('" + itemnum + "')"); and about 40 other ways but nothing works

  • C++ Win/Linux thread syncronization Event

    Hello I have some code that is cross-platform by unsing #ifdef OS, I have a Queue protected by a CriticalSection on Windows, and by a pthread_mutex_t on Linux. I would like to implement a Wait(timeout) call that would block a thread until something has been enqueued. I though about using WaitForSingleObject on windows but it don't seem to support CriticalSection. Which Win32 and which Linux functions should I use to Wait and Signal for a condition to happen.   • Waiting for a subset of threads in a Java ThreadPool

    Let's say I have a thread pool containing X items, and a given task employs Y of these items (where Y is much smaller than X). I want to wait for all of the threads of a given task (Y items) to finish, not the entire thread pool. If the thread pool's execute() method returned a reference to the employed thread I could simply join() to each of these Y threads, but it doesn't. Does anyone know of an elegant way to accomplish this? Thanks.

    I've been looking into JOIN, subqueries and other ways of doing this, but I can't work out the best way to do this is... I have a table (ps_category_product): id_product, id_category I want to perform a query on it like: SELECT id_product FROM ps_category_product WHERE id_category='$this_cat' BUT, I only want to perform this query where the ID's are returned by a query on another table (ps_product): id_product, active SELECT id_product FROM ps_product WHERE active='1' Can anyone help me with getting these two queries working together?

    Hi there, I would like to be advised on what would be better (in regards to performance) A) 1 DATABASE with 4 tables or B) 2 DATABASES (same server), each with 2 tables. The tables size and usage are more or less similar, so the 2 tables on Database 1 would be similar usage/size to the 2 tables on database 2 The tables could have +500,000 records and the 2 tables on each database are not related (no join queries etc between them) Thanks in advance for your comments

    Say I have a dataframe df with two or more columns, is there an easy way to use unique() or other R function to create a subset of unique combinations of two or more columns? I know I can use sqldf() and write an easy "SELECT DISTINCT var1, var2, ... varN" query, but I am looking for an R way of doing this. It occurred to me to try ftable coerced to a dataframe and use the field names, but I also get the cross tabulations of combinations that don't exist in the dataset: uniques <- as.data.frame(ftable(df$var1, df$var2))

  • Why can't I SELECT a parent field that doesn't have a child?

    (rest_branches) is the table of restaurants. (phone_numbers) is another table which contains the restaurants phone_numbers, and it has a field called (branch_id) which references the restaurant id. When I try: SELECT * FROM rest_branches NATURAL JOIN phone_numbers I only get the restaurants which have a phone_number. What should I do to get all restaurants even if they don't have a phone number?

Basically we are finding the files with most recent dates The file patterns are <FileNames><YYYYMMDD><FileExtension> e.g. test_20100506.xls indicates <FileNames> = test_ <YYYYMMDD> = 20100506 <FileExtension> = .xls Now in the source folder, the files are standardization_20100503.xls, standardization_20100504.xls, standardization_20100305.xls, replacement_20100505.xls As can be seen that, standardization_.xls are 3 in numbers but replacement_.xls is only 1. The output will be a list of file names whose content will be standardization_20100504.xls and replacement_20100505.xls Because among all the standardization_.xls is the most recent one and replacement_.xls is also the same. I have tried with my own logic but somehow failed.
