• Adding a method to a function object at runtime

  I read a question earlier asking if there was a times method in Python, that would allow a function to be called n times in a row. Everyone suggested for _ in range(n): foo() but I wanted to try and code a different solution using a function decorator. Here's what I have: def times(self, n, *args, **kwargs): for _ in range(n): self.__call__(*args, **kwargs) import new def repeatable(func): func.times = new.instancemethod(times, func, func.__class__) @repeatable def threeArgs(one, two, three): print one, two, three threeArgs.times(7, "one", two="rawr", three="foo") When I run the program, I get the following exception: Traceback (most recent call last): File "", line 244, in run_nodebug File "C:\py\repeatable.py", line 24, in threeArgs.times(7, "one", two="rawr", three="foo") AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'times' So I suppose the decorator didn't work? How can I fix this?

  I am using using ubuntu 11.10. Everything was working perfectly this morning. At a moment "Ubuntu software center" application was unable to get started. So I restarted by system and when I logged in it started under GNOME. Again when I try to start in ubuntu session then it was not showing in menu list but Ubuntu 2D is coming. I don't come to know why this is happening. please let me know any fix for this issue. Thanks!

• Add time to a Date object in javascript

  I am trying to add time to a Date object in javascript but am not getting the results that I am expecting. I am trying to pull a timer off of the page and add it to the current time to get the unix timestamp value of when the timer will hit zero. The time on the page is displayed as " HH:MM:SS ". This is what I have: time=getTimerText.split(":"); seconds=(time[0]*3600+time[1]*60+time[2])*1000; to convert the time into milliseconds. fDate=new Date(); fDate.setTime(fDate.getTime()+seconds); add the milliseconds to the javascript timestamp alert(Math.round(fDate.getTime() / 1000)); convert the javascript timestamp to a unix timestamp Since the timer is counting down I should get the same result every time i run the script, but I don't. Can anyone see what I might be doing wrong here?

  i have installed apache2, actual php version, mysql server and vsftp on my new ubuntu server. I also installed wordpress and gave the user www-data all rights for /var/www/* and put it to 755. I hooked the Domain to the server with * and @ a-record. Now, everytime when i open a Page, it says 404 file not found on server. i dont know how to fix this. can you help me? Edit: I think its because mod_rewrite. i installed mod_rewrite with: sudo a2enmod rewrite sudo service apache2 restart but it still doesnt work.

  Hello, I'm developing a "script generator" to automatize some processes at work. It has a Rails application running on a server that stores all data needed to make the script and generates the script itself at the end of the process. The problem I am having is how to export the data from the ActiveRecord format to Plain Old Ruby Objects (POROs) so I can deal with them in my script with no database support and a pure-ruby implementation. I tought about YAML, CSV or something like this to export the data but it would be a painful process to update these structures if the process changes. Is there a simpler way? Ty!

  Is there a framework which can be used in your application, to make it expose internal objects on some port for inspection. for.e.g. after i start my application in this case a GUI Application, and then say launch http://localhost:9100 then it should show me the statistics of the app. I played a bit with HttpListener accepting connections and then outputting raw HTML, it works fine for simple tasks, but there is too much worked involved if i have make a proper object browser. • Secondary display showing Ubuntu logo, but is not detected

  I recently installed Ubuntu using WUBI, and it worked perfectly. However, my laptop is showing the main desktop screen, and my secondary display is only showing the Ubuntu logo with its loading bar underneath, nothing more. When I go to 'displays' it is only detecting my laptop screen, and not my Asus monitor (connected with a vga). Things I've done so far: Unplug and replug vga cable. Reboot computer. Re-install Ubuntu. Checked to see if any drivers needed to be installed. None were needed. I have a Thinkpad W520, with a Nvidia Quadro 1000M Thanks for the help!

  im trying to understand the factory design pattern. i dont understand why it's good to have a middleman between the client and the product (object that the client wants). example with no factory: $mac = new Mac(); example with a factory: $appleStore = new AppleStore(); $mac = $appleStore->getProduct('mac'); how does the factory pattern decouple the client from the product? could someone give an example of a future code change that will impact on example 1 negative, but positive in example 2 so i understand the importance of decoupling? thanks

  I am using javascript map to store keys and values.Later on I check if specified key is present in map or not, but it sometimes gives correct result but sometimes it dont.I tried to print the map using console.log(mapname), it shows all keys, but i i try to check if some specified key is presnt sometimes it gives wrong answer. • Google Analytics is not tracking all of our pages

  Our website is insynchq.com. In the All Pages report under Content - Site Content we can only see data for some our pages, like /, /getstarted, and /download. Others, like /gmail, /about, and /mobile are not shown, even if we are sure that there have been visits to them. We use a template for our pages so the scripts that are loaded for / (for example) should also be loaded for /gmail, so it doesn't seem to be a problem with the installation of the tracking code. Can anyone help? Thanks.

• Dual monitor not working after an update

  I did a package manager update yesterday and it turns out that my dual monitor setup has stopped working. I have poor vision so I really need to connect to a much bigger screen, but since yesterday, when I connect the screen to my laptop, the screen does not automatically reset itself to the laptop display. Even after lots of trial and error with the display settings, I am getting different dispalys on the laptop and external screen and right now only the big screen is active while the laptop has blanked out. • Newly updated ubuntu not loading in moniter.

  I just recently upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 to Ubuntu 12.10. I installed the update and tried to boot from the newly installed version. As I booted in it would pop up the loading screen and then I would lose signal and it would say that there was no signal on my monitor. How do I fix this because I really want to use the new version but if it's not going to work I'll just forget about it. I can however boot into the old install and I works fine.

• Ubuntu 14.04 not booting before Windows 8.1

  I try too boot my computer into Ubuntu, but I end up having to manually select Ubuntu from the devices menu, even though it was supposed to boot first. Instead Windows 8 boots up like Ubuntu isn't even there! And GRUB works just fine when Ubuntu is selected in the boot device menu. (How else am I on?) I tried using EasyBCD but kept getting errors from the windows boot manager. And just in case it helps, during installation of Ubuntu it didn't recognize windows 8, and I had to resize and install manually. Anything I can do? Notes: EVERYONE!!! GRUB WORKS PERFECTLY!!! IT IS AN ERROR IN THE HP BOOT MENU AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY SAID!!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME ANSWERS FOR GRUB EDITS IN THE FUTURE!!! • Ubuntu 13.04 not detecting operating system Windows 8

  I have a Samsung NP740U3E with pre-installed Windows 8 (boots with UEFI). I installed Ubuntu 13.04 without problems. Later, Windows 8 did a BIOS update which messed up everything, nothing would boot. I recovered everything and went back to fabric settings. Now Windows 8 works fine, but when I try to install Ubuntu it does not detect any operating system, so I can`t install Ubuntu alongside Windows. I`ve googled as much as I can, ran a boot-repair, disabled fast- and secure-boot. I have a GPT disc, been looking into gdisk without luck. Here`s my boot-repair summary http://paste.ubuntu.com/5835719/ Is it necessary to convert the GPT disc to MBR? Is it possible to hard-reset the disc "even more" than fabric settings? • Dual Boot not recognizing new hard drive

  I am a complete Linux newb..which will become obvious shortly. The story: I wanted to dual boot with Ubuntu. I already had windows on 1 hard drive (320gb), and I wanted Ubuntu on a 2nd hard drive (2tb). I setup the partitions using the "Something else" option - I left the first hard drive alone, and put a swap and a ext4 partition on the 2nd hard drive. When it asked me where the bootable device was, I put the first hard drive. The problem: Now that Ubuntu is installed and grub lets me pick which os to boot to, I boot to ubuntu JUST FINE. BUT when I go to the home folder and look at devices, the only drive showing is the 320 gb/old hard drive that windows was installed on. I can not see the 2 TB hard drive anywhere. This is strange because I setup the Ubuntu partition to be the 2 TB hard drive and I thought I installed ubunto on that partition. Thank you for your time and patience :)
