• DataSet XML export is empty

  I've got in-memory dataset with couple of tables that is populated in code. Data-bound grids on the gui show table contents without a problem. Then I try to export the dataset into XML: ds.WriteXml(fdSave.FileName, XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema); and get empty XML (with couple of lines regarding dataset names but without any tables) If I export table directly I've got all the data but dataset name is obviously wrong: ds.Fields.WriteXml(fdSave.FileName, XmlWriteMode.WriteSchema); What am I missing? Is there any reasonable way to write the whole dataset into file?

• Tabbar App with Paging between tabs.

  Hi everyone, I've been struggling for about four days now trying to figure out how to implement the functionality I need. Basically I want to make a tabbar app that you can swipe back and forth between the tabs. Say I have 4 tabs. Would it make any sense just to create a scrollview that's 4 times as wide as the device, and load up 4 individual views side by side? Then I could use the tabbar delegate to simple tell which page to make visible? I could also use itemSelected to update the tab itself if a user swipes to a new page. does this make sense / is it a good idea? I just need a quick yes or no answer before I spend another whole day pursuing something doomed to failure. Thank you very much for your help...

• Compiler: Translation to assembly

  I've written an interpreter for my experimental language and know I want to move on and write a small compiler for it. It will probably take the source, go through the same steps as the interpreter (tokenizer, parser) and then translate the source to assembly. Now my questions: Can I expect that every command in my language can be 1:1 translated to a bunch of assembly instructions? What I mean is if I will have to completely throw over the whole input program or if it is just translated to assembly per line. Which assembler should I use as output format?

• Including full LaTeX documents within others.

  I'm currently finishing off my dissertation, and would like to be able to include some documents within my LaTeX document. The files I'd like to include are weekly reports done in LaTeX to my supervisor. Obviously all documents are page numbered seperately. I would like them to be included in the final document. I could concatenate all the final PDFs using GhostScript or some other tool, but I would like to have consistent numbering throughout the document. I have tried including the LaTeX from each document in the main document, but the preamble etc causes problems and the small title I have in each report takes a whole page... In summary, I'm looking for a way of including a number of 1 or 2 page self-complete LaTeX files in a large report, keeping their original layouts, but changing the page numbering.

  Hi, in VC++ environment Im using (string) getline function to read separate lines in opened file. Problem is that getline takes character 1Ah as end of file and if it is present on the line, whole reading ends prematurely. Is there any solution for this? • How to make a section header with an non-rectangular shape without ugly underflow?

  I made an custom UITableView. Then I made a custom header for sections. It has round corners. But unfortunately, the rows of the section are visible in those round corners when the header floats over them. I could just make a background color so the corners are not transparent. But that is not a solution since my whole table has a background image and the section header can move. Is there any way to get the clipping region for the rows a little bit more downwards? I mean: They should not appear under that section header.

  I have a wpf data grid,where there are two data template columns One of which ahs check box as the data template adn teh other has combo box as the data template. Now my requirement is,i need to disable few of the options in the combo boxes depending on the check box checked or unchecked for each individual rows... With the cod etaht i ahve tried,i am able to change teh values of teh combo boxes,but it changes for the whole column and not fro individual rows.. Please let me kneo how to determine the combo boxes for the corresponding check boxes in a particular row.

  I have task to prepare two windows with swing. One contains grid of squares, with random numbers in them. In second I need to load pieces of tiled image and then show them in the correct order, forming tiled image. I've used swing only few times to draw some 2d polylines, so basically I just theoretically now what to do. Ok, so window number 1: I start with creating Jframe for the window. Then I do for loop and in it create 16 JLabels with random numbers in them ? How to set margins between each tile and the whole window ? Window number 2 : So I start the same, but instead of loading numbers I add images ? Now, how can I load image from file and then set it as background ?

• Struggling to "clear" a CGLayer -- can it even be done?

  So I'm doing this repetitively - making a CGLayer, doing some processing, and then releasing it. This happens a lot in real time -- so surely there is a lot of overhead in making a whole new CGLayer each time? Surely it would be better to just keep lair around, and start fresh each time? However, I do not know any way, at all, to "erase" or "start from blank" a CGLayer?? Can anyone help on this? There is a function CGContextBeginPath(cc) but it's confusing: it seems to only clear out "that" path, it does not erase all of the CGLayer back to a blank canvas. how to return a CGLayer to a blank canvas????? Does anyone know?   I'm reading some docs about MDM. According to "Moile device management protocol" document, server can set config for managed devices by installing profile files onto devices. Things that can config in that file are described in https://developer.apple.com/library/ios/featuredarticles/iphoneconfigurationprofileref/Introduction/Introduction.html. My Questions are: if server install 2 profiles that have different config for the same thing, what will happen? "Moile device management protocol" documents also mention about "Managed App Configuration and Feedback". So what is different between the previous config file with this function of server. Is "Managed App Configuration and Feedback" just for specific app, not for the whole device as profile files. which fields can be config via "Managed App Configuration and Feedback" of MDM? • How do you get the File:// protocol to work in IE8?

  I am running a website on my local machine ("http://localhost/asdf") and trying to get some file:// protocol links to work. In reality I'm trying to open a folder, not a specific file, but I can't get either to work. I've put localhost in my "trusted zone", I've tried every combo of "file" ,":", some number of "/" and then a whole bunch of different paths, but encoded and not encoded. Nothing I do causes anything to open when I click on the link. If I copy the link destination, and paste that in the browser address window, then it works as expected. Anyone know the secret?

• visual studio 2005 problem with windows flying open

  I'm going through the problem of setting up a new computer and I'm having a problem with VS 2005. Whenever I start debugging all the windows (properties, watch, errorlist, stack, ...) pop up all over the place undocked. At this point I've tried docking them and closing them. When I stop debugging more windows pop up all undocked. This keeps happening over and over and over... I've tried closing and docking them but they keep popping out. Wasn't sure how to google this and my patience has grown thin with this whole process of moving to a new comp. Sincerely, Frustrated

• Dynamically creating/inserting into an associative array in PHP

  I'm trying to build an associative array in PHP dynamically, and not quite getting my strategy right. Basically, I want to insert a value at a certain depth in the array structure, for instance: $array['first']['second']['third'] = $val; Now, the thing is, I'm not sure if that depth is available, and if it isn't, I want to create the keys (and arrays) for each level, and finally insert the value at the correct level. Since I'm doing this quite a lot in my code, I grew tired of doing a whole bunch of "array_key_exists", so I wanted to do a function that builds the array for me, given a list of the level keys. Any help on a good strategy for this is appreciated. I'm sure there is a pretty simple way, I'm just not getting it...

• update portlet without refreshing portal page

  I'm trying to create a simple agena portlet. Now I've developed a basic one using spring-portlet-mvc, it allows you to navigate to the next and previous month with thusly named links that invoke a previousMonth or nextMonth function in my controller. Now the problem I'm having is that this navigation causes my whole page to refresh. Now I was wondering what the best way to fix this was. I've been looking around a bit and it looks like jquery/ajax will do the trick, but since I don't have any experience yet with that technology I was wondering if anyone had any pointers/better ideas to solve my problem.

• Why is this loop over mysql resultset slow? (1.4ms per cycle)

  The $res contains around 488k rows the whole loop takes 61s! that's over 1.25ms per cycle!   I am trying to port a python program to c#. Here is the line that's supposed to be a walkthrough but is currently tormenting me: hash = hashlib.md5(inputstring).digest() After generating a similar MD5 hash in c# It is absolutely vital that I create a similar hash string as the original python program or my whole application will fail. My confusion lies in which encoding to use when converting to string in c# i.e ?Encoding enc = new ?Encoding(); string Hash =enc.GetString(HashBytes); //HashBytes is my generated hash Because I am unable to create two similar hashes when using Encoding.Default i.e string Hash = Encoding.Default.GetString(HashBytes); So I'm thinking knowing the deafult hash.digest() encoding for python would help

• Lucene.Net - How to treat a space-seperated phrase as a single token?

  I've implemented a search facility using Lucene.Net. The index includes UK academic qualifications, including "A Level". I'd like the users to be able to search using the phrase "A Level", but using the Standrad Analyser the "A" is stripped out as a stop-word and therefore only "Level" is indexed/searched. What's my best option to work around this? I'm guessing I need to somehow tokenise "A Level" to "A-Level" or similar by creating a custom analyser. Is this the best approach? Note that I want don't want the whole search to be a phrase query. i.e. in my search box I want the user to be able to enter <"A Level" AND English Maths Physics and this would return any with "A Level" and either of English MAths or Physics. • indexing for faster search of lists in a file??

  i have a file having around 1 lakh lists and have a another file with again a list of around an average of 50.. I want to compare 2nd item of list in second file with the 2nd element of 1st file and repeat this for each of the 50 lists in 2nd file and get the result of all the matching element. I have written the code for all this,but this is taking a lot of time as it need to check the whole the 1lakh list some 50 times..i want to improve the speed... please tell me how can i do this.... i cant not post my code as it is part of big code and will be difficult to infer anything from that... please tell what can be done to improve the speed?? thank u,

• Issue with css float -- Hindering IE6 from putting div in next line

  Hi, I've got an issue with floating divs in IE6. There's one navigation div on the left and one content div for the rest of the page. They've got the following css values: #navigation { float: left; width: 185px; padding-left: 5px; overflow: auto; height: 100%; } #content { overflow: auto; height: 100%; } In Firefox, IE8, Chrome and Opera, I get scrollbars for the content div when I resize the page to a size where both divs can't fit in as a whole. The navigation div stays in its place. And that is the desired behaviour. But in IE6, there are no scrollbars for the content div. Instead, when the page is getting too small, IE6 simply puts the content div under the navigation div. Do you know any way to hinder IE6 from this behaviour?

• git merge, git rebase none seems to work, should I delete my github fork and refork from the upstream master?

  I have to confess my github sins. 4 month ago, I forked a upstream repo, without knowing much of git and pull request, i did some work on master branch locally, later on I realized the mistake, created a new branch, and squashed the changes to one and successfully send a PR later from that branch. the PR is accepted, and I moved on. Now I need to submit another PR. But my master branch is so messed up, when I do merge, or rebase, there are so many mistakes. I probably committed a few more sins this morning. I have been battling this for the whole morning now. so it comes to the point that I want a clean start. Can I delete the github fork and refork from the upstream master? What are the correct steps?

• How do I reload servlet classes without restarting my web application?

  I want to reload just my web layer classes without reloading my service layer classes (which take longer to initialize and change less frequently). There are no references from my service layer into the web layer and I can create a whole new instance of the web layer without problems. I can conceive of a solution involving complicated class-loader tricks to isolate the web layer in its own class-loader and I think this is probably the only way to do this so what I'm asking is, is there a library out there which does this? I know about JavaRebel - I don't need that much power and I'm really looking for a more lightweight free solution.

  Hi, I'm using java servlets and jsp in my application and I need to read the remote XML file and properly render it into HTML and display on a web page...What is the technology used for reading process?Should I use HTTPURLConnection class to read the contents of the xml file or there is some other way? And also,if I use servlet as a controller and JSP as a view,what would be the responsibility of servlet and jsp in this process?Should servlet just read the whole XML file and then just pass the read output to JSP which will just print it and render properly using XSL for example? • Using stored procedures to generate RDLC report in C#

  I'm making an application that generates reports for my client. I'm using his database that contains stored procedures which return the data needed for the reports. The problem is that I don't know how to execute them from the application (more specific the TableAdapter in my dataset). When I use the visual aid to create the TableAdapter, it shows the error "Invalid object named #table1". This is weird because there is a temporary table called #table1 in the stored procedure. When I try to do the whole job programmatically, I get the exception Incorrect syntax near '.'. An object or column name is missing or empty. For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name. I created a DataTable that has identical structure as the result of the stored procedure, but I still get the same exception
