    I'm trying to add a row to a table and have that row slide into view, however the slidedown function seems to be adding a display:block style to the table row which messes up the layout.   • SharePoint - Remote machine shows wrong design

    Hi.! I am creating a SharePoint public website on SharePoint Server 2007. I've added my custom Master-page for Publishing site. When I see, Home page, on my local machine, in the content area of my page it shows me IMAGE on the right as I want to see. But, When I see that page on my remote machine It shows my IMAGE on the left, instead of right side.   • hidden style affecting links in table?

    In a table of mine I have the table header, th which have two separate links in each cell. Each of them wrap to a new line which I don't want. If I remove all the style sheets it doesn't fix it. If i disable style sheets in the browser it fixes it but there are no inline styles that would cause the wrapping. If they are non-hyperlinked words they don't wrap. If i use the td tag it doesn't fix it either. There is too much code all over the shop to post but all I want is in a th cell a word with an image next to it with a different hyperlink. Hope that makes sense

  • Tiled Image for background of DIV is making IE sllllowww when scrolling

    Take a look at http://www.pmverge.com at the "We're in Bootstrap Mode" DIV on the right-hand side. Having that background tile image is causing the IE browser (all versions) to drag when scrolling. What can I do to keep that tiled style but not have it slow down IE. background-image: url(http://blog.pmverge.com/assets/images/background.gif) NOTES Yes this is the Stackoverflow.com engine as I'm licensing it. The background watermark image is not slowing the page down (though it has about 50k).

    What is Logically correct and W3C valid way to clear float? zoom:1 is not valid by W3C and IE8 don't have hash layout problem overflow:hidden and overflow:hidden were not made to do this,as the spec intended overflow to be used <div class="clear"/> is not semantically correct and i don't want to add extra markup. clearfix hack generates content that really hasn’t any semantic value. I've asked many questions and read many articles on this issue but haven't find best way.

    i am having a slight problem with the alignment of the footer div. i have a header at the top. div = maincontent { two divs for content, side by side. another 2 divs side by side below the content div. } //just to represent. i know this is not html ;) now i want the footer div to start after the maincontent div finishes. i can do that if i specify a fixed height for the maincontent div. but i dont want to specify a height for it. if i dont specify the height, the footer div starts at the middle of the page. what am i doing wrong?

X, Y, and Z are images (3 images total). Y can stretch along the X axis, and does so above, to fill the available space. (But doesn't cause "Some text here" to get squished and start breaking into multiple lines) I'd like to keep the "Some text here" part in one line. A line breaking here will not end happily. Is this possible, or should I simplify the layout around HTML?

  • Span with white-space style in IE (7) applied _past_ end of span

    We've got an application where users can enter "notes" into a rich edit control (Telerik's RedEditor, but that doesn't matter here). We had a user enter notes from w/in Safari that had a <span></span> in the middle of the note, and that span had a style on it specifying white-space:pre The HTML of the note was in the form of: <div> This is a note <span class="Apple-tab-span" style="white-space: pre; "> </span> and here's more of the note. </div> Simple enough, the style should apply to the span, and the span had 4 spaces in it. There should have been 4 spaces in the resulting output. Here's the problem. IE seems to apply that white-space: pre; style not only to the span, but to the enclosing div! Therefore, this long line that should have wrapped since it's not in the span, now pushed the document out until the line fits on the page. What am I missing. I know IE has problems, but this doesn't seem right, even for IE. So, the question(s): 1) Am I correct that the white-space attribute should only have applied to the span? 2) Can this be resolved somehow? Remember, I'm not in control of the content being entered. And it's entered from a mac w/Safari and being viewed in IE.   • Can I set a style for the content of an iframe from the main page?

    We have a page the embeds a Google Calendar in an iframe. Recently, a warning box div began appearing on the calendar that looks like this: <div id="warningBox" style="color:#aa0000;">Events from one or more calendars could not be shown here because you do not have the permission to view them.</div> Obviously the best solution here is to find the private events and remove them, but so far the search for those events has proved fruitless. This calendar is an aggregate of several calendars, including a few we don't control (ie weather). We're still looking, but in the meantime, I would like to try to hide that div. I know that iframes enforce the separation between the pages, such that the child page is pretty much a law unto itself. But surely there must be some way to set a style on an element inside the frame?

It works perfectly but the problem is I want one div to close when another one is opened. The div's open fine but it does not close the others. An example code is below. What am I doing wrong?
