• Why is Evince not displaying application fonts/text for me?

  Any time I use Evince, it just shows boxes where all the text should be. Instead, it uses the box symbol which I know stands for not being able to find a character. This problem occurs on every menu, and makes it impossible to tell what's going on in any part of the application. I've tried Googling for this problem, but my -fu is weak or it's hard to search for. I'm pretty tech-literate, and I'm running a fairly stock 10.10 install with GNOME.

• How do I locate the CGRect for a substring of text in a UILabel?

  For a given NSRange, I'd like to find a CGRect in a UILabel that corresponds to the glyphs of that NSRange. For example, I'd like to find the CGRect that contains the word "dog" in the sentence "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog." The trick is, the UILabel has multiple lines, and the text is really attributedText, so it's a bit tough to find the exact position of the string. The method that I'd like to write on my UILabel subclass would look something like this: - (CGRect)rectForSubstringWithRange:(NSRange)range; Details, for those who are interested: My goal with this is to be able to create a new UILabel with the exact appearance and position of the UILabel, that I can then animate. I've got the rest figured out, but it's this step in particular that's holding me back at the moment. What I've done to try and solve the issue so far: I'd hoped that with iOS 7, there'd be a bit of Text Kit that would solve this problem, but most every example I've seen with Text Kit focuses on UITextView and UITextField, rather than UILabel. I've seen another question on Stack Overflow here that promises to solve the problem, but the accepted answer is over two years old, and the code doesn't perform well with attributed text. I'd bet that the right answer to this involves one of the following: Using a standard Text Kit method to solve this problem in a single line of code. I'd bet it would involve NSLayoutManager and textContainerForGlyphAtIndex:effectiveRange Writing a complex method that breaks the UILabel into lines, and finds the rect of a glyph within a line, likely using Core Text methods. My current best bet is to take apart @mattt's excellent TTTAttributedLabel, which has a method that finds a glyph at a point - if I invert that, and find the point for a glyph, that might work. • jquery XML .html() instead of .text() is not displaying?

  I can't seem to figure out this problem. I am trying to get xml to render html tags. The problem I am having using .text() will display but not recognize any html tags. If I use .html() or just call var long2 = $(this).find('long'); nothing will show up in Safari or IE. I have xml paragraph I have text in here that needs bold tags or tags which is why i need html tags in the xml to be recognized. • SharePoint 2010 Center and Fixed Width of all content on page including the ribbon

  All, I am trying to make the width of the sharepoint 2010 web site to be within a fixed width and centered across the screen. I would like for it to be 800px and centered. When i do this, it seems like it starts to work until the ribbion bar renters. • How can I parse/ transform text log data before it gets captured in SCOM 2007 R2?

  I'm pretty much a noob with System Center Operations Manager 2007, and I'm probably missing something pretty basic, but I'm stumped anyway. We're setting up monitoring on some of our servers, and we'd like to capture data from some plain text log files (e.g. DNS debug logs, DHCP logs). It looks to me like I can set up a generic text file monitoring rule and get events captured into the main Ops Manager database, but my understanding is that the whole line of text from the plain text log gets captured as one field. In an ideal world, we'd be able to parse or transform that log file data to make it easier to query later. Is this possible? Is it easy? Do I have to buy expensive 3rd-party software to do it? One more thing: it would be even better if there was a way to stuff this data into the Audit Collection Services (ACS) database instead of the main one, but I'll take what I can get. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  I was messing around with grep and put this in my .zshenv: export GREP_OPTIONS="--color=auto" export GREP_COLORS='mt=1;34' I was bonking my head on the keyboard and changing GREP_COLORS around for a minute trying to figure out why the folder colors were working, but the matching text wasn't. I was doing this: $ grep -R -n -i -e "functionFoo\(" --include=*.cs --exclude-dir=Logs * The line number and file names were set with the default colors, but the matching text wasn't. After spending way too much time, I thought to do this: $ grep -R -n -e "functionFoo\(" --include=*.cs --exclude-dir=Logs * (I removed the -i option.) That's all it took to get the matching text to correctly show up in bold blue. This is a Cygwin on Vista setup, with rxvt running zsh. Any idea why grep colors would break on specifying a case-insensitive match? Update: Under cygwin 1.7, it's a little bit better - case insensitive search works correctly, but it only highlights the word that matches the expression exactly. In other words, "FunctionFoo" highlights "FunctionFoo" but not "functionFoo" and vice versa. Probably a grep issue so I'll be submitting it to that list.

• How to auto-generate early bound properties for Entity specific (ie Local) Option Set text values?

  After spending a year working with the Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk namespace, I just discovered yesterday the Entity.FormattedValues property contains the text value for Entity specific (ie Local) Option Set texts. The reason I didn't discover it before, is there is no early bound method of getting the value. i.e. entity.new_myOptionSet is of type OptionSetValue which only contains the int value. You have to call entity.FormattedValues["new_myoptionset"] to get the string text value of the OptionSetValue. Therefore, I'd like to get the crmsrvcutil to auto-generate a text property for local option sets. i.e. Along with Entity.new_myOptionSet being generated as it currently does, Entity.new_myOptionSetText would be generated as well. I've looked into the Microsoft.Crm.Services.Utility.ICodeGenerationService, but that looks like it is mostly for specifying what CodeGenerationType something should be... Is there a way supported way using CrmServiceUtil to add these properties, or am I better off writing a custom app that I can run that can generate these properties as a partial class to the auto-generated ones? Edit - Example of the code that I would like to be generated Currently, whenever I need to access the text value of a OptionSetValue, I use this code: var textValue = OptionSetCache.GetText(service, entity, e => e.New_MyOptionSet); The option set cache will use the entity.LogicalName, and the property expression to determine the name of the option set that I'm asking for. It will then query the SDK using the RetrieveAttriubteRequest, to get a list of the option set int and text values, which it then caches so it doesn't have to hit CRM again. It then looks up the int value of the New_MyOptionSet of the entity and cross references it with the cached list, to get the text value of the OptionSet. Instead of doing all of that, I can just do this (assuming that the entity has been retrieved from the server, and not just populated client side): var textValue = entity.FormattedValues["new_myoptionset"]; but the "new_myoptionset" is no longer early bound. I would like the early bound entity classes that gets generated to also generate an extra "Text" property for OptionSetValue properties that calls the above line, so my entity would have this added to it: public string New_MyOptionSetText { return this.GetFormattedAttributeValue("new_myoptionset"); // this is a protected method on the Entity class itself... }

• Is there a FAST way to export and install an app on my phone, while signing it with my own keystore?

  So, I've downloaded my own application from the market and installed it on my phone. Now, I am trying to install a temporary new version from Eclipse, but here is the message I get: Re-installation failed due to different application signatures. You must perform a full uninstall of the application. WARNING: This will remove the application data! Please execute 'adb uninstall com.applicationName' in a shell. Launch canceled! Now, I really really don't want to uninstall the application, because I will lose all my data. One solution I found is to Export my application, creating new .apk, and then install it via HTC Sync (probably a different program based on what phone you have). The problem is this takes a long time to do, since I need to enter the password for the keystore each time and then wait for HTC Sync. It's a pain in the ass! So the question is: Is there a way to make Eclipse automatically use my keystore to sign the application (quickly and automatically)? Or perhaps to replace debug keystore with my own? Or perhaps just tell it to remember the password, so I don't have to enter it every time...? Or some other way to solve this problem?

  I'm a bit confused here. When I use Excel 2003 to export a sheet to CSV, it actually uses semicolons ... Col1;Col2;Col3 shfdh;dfhdsfhd;fdhsdfh dgsgsd;hdfhd;hdsfhdfsh Now when I read the csv using Microsoft drivers, it expects comma's and sees the list as one big column ??? I suspect Excel is exporting with semicolons because I have a AZERTY keyboard. However, doesn't the CSV reader then also have to take in account the different delimiter ? • How do I set the encoding statement in the XML declaration when performing an XSL transformation usi

  I wrote a simple package installer in WinBatch that needs to update an XML file with information about the package contents. My first stab at it involved loading the file with Msxml2.DOMDocument, adding nodes and data as required, then saving the data back to disk. This worked well enough, except that it would not create tab and CR/LF whitespace in the new data. The solution I came up with was writing an XSL stylesheet that would recreate the XML file with whitespace added back in. I'm doing this by: loading the XSL file into an Msxml2.FreeThreadedDOMDocument object setting that object as the stylesheet property of an Msxml2.XSLTemplate object creating an XSL processor via Msxml2.XSLTemplate.createProcessor() setting my original Msxml2.DOMDocument as the input property of the XSL processor Calling transform() method of the XSL processor, and saving the output to a file. This works as for as reformatting the XML file with tabs and carriage returns, but my XML declaration comes out either as <?xml version="1.0"?> or <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?> depending on whether I used Msxml2.*.6.0 or Msxml2.* objects (a fall back if the system doesn't have 6.0). If the encoding is set to UTF-16, Msxml12.DOMDocument complains about trying to convert UTF-16 to 1-byte encoding the next time I run my package installer. I've tried creating and adding an XML declaration using both createProcessingInstruction() to both the XML and XSL DOM objects, but neither one seems to affect the output of the XSLTemplate processor. I've also set encoding to UTF-8 in the <xsl:output/> tag in my XSL file. To ensure the development environment accurately reflects production, in the eyes of the Optimizer, the statistics used in the development environment must be the same as the statistics used in production. This can be achieved by exporting the statistics from production and import them into the development environment. Even though the underlying objects are a fraction of the size of production, the Optimizer will see them as the same size and treat them the same way as it would in production. Below are the necessary steps to achieve this in their environment. I am using the SH sample schema as the application schema who's statistics we want to move from production to development. Step 1. Create a staging table, in the production environment, where the statistics can be stored Step 2. Export the statistics for the application schema, from the data dictionary in production, into the staging table Step 3. Create an Oracle directory on the production system where the export of the staging table will reside and grant the SH user the necessary privileges on it. Step 4. Export the staging table from production using data pump export Step 5. Copy the dump file containing the stating table from production to development Step 6. Create an Oracle directory on the development system where the export of the staging table resides and grant the SH user the necessary privileges on it.  Step 7. Import the staging table into the development environment using data pump import Step 8. Import the statistics from the staging table into the dictionary in the development environment. Read on to see how we can use them to make a universal Windows 8 install disc. Things You Will Need A x86 Version of Windows 8 A x64 Version of Windows 8 A x86 Version of Windows 8 Enterprise A x64 Version of Windows 8 Enterprise A Windows 8 PC Note: While we will use all the images above you don’t really need the Enterprise Edition. You could always leave out parts of the tutorial if you know what you are doing, if you are not comfortable with that and still want to follow through you could always grab the Enterprise evaluation images that are available for free to the public, on MSDN. Getting Started To get started you will need to Download the Windows 8 ADK from Microsoft. Once downloaded go ahead and install it, you will only need the Deployment tools so be sure to uncheck the rest of the options. Lastly you will also need to create the following folder structure on the root of your C:\ drive to make things a bit easier.   I am working on an export tool from Blender to Libgdx, exports like custom attributes and other information (Almost completed), this is a very cool tool that will speed up a lot your works, after I completed I will send to public to contribute forum, Export format is uses python's Standard Json module and readable text, it of course works fine, but I wanna also have a Binary Json export for faster load, so users can Export Straight to Libgdx, but after I search I found that UBJson with draft9.py (simpleubjson 0.6.1) encode is seems matches with one FBXConverter's UBJsonWriter( Xoppa wrote), but when I export, I am not able to read the file, and send this errors (Java heap space) seems this is a different between byte sizes in UBJson(python) and UBJsonReader. how can I write a correct one in python that matches with Libgdx's UBJsonReader, and would be cross-platform?   For demos, testing and prototyping, I wanted a single domain which contained three servers:OSB - Oracle Service BusOSR - Oracle Service RegistryOER - Oracle Enterprise Repository These three can work together to help with service governance in an enterprise.  When building out the domain, I found errors in the OSR server due to some conflicting classes from the OSB.  This wouldn't be an issue if each server was given a unique classpath setting with the node manager, but I was having the node manager use the standard startup scripts. It double-underlines some keywords on every page. On mouse hover I get an ad overlay from http[colon][slash][slash]intext.nav-links.com[slash] Upon right-clicking one of the text-enhanced keywords and going to 'inspect element', i see that the text has been wrapped around with a CSS classname called adtext. It even shows the .adtext CSS descriptions on the right. How do i determine from WHICH particular extension is this CSS classname being injected into my pages?

So far I have been under the impression that by just turning the Google Sync on that it will overwrite the info on my phone. I don't currently have all the info on my phone in Google contacts so this would not be desired. • MEB Support to NetBackup MMS

  In MySQL Enterprise Backup 3.6, new option was introduced to support backup to tapes via SBT interface. SBT stands for System Backup to Tape, an Oracle API that helps to perform backup and restore jobs via media management software such as Oracle's Secure Backup (OSB). There are other storage managers like IBM's Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) and Symantec's Netbackup (NB) which are also supported by MEB but we don't guarantee that it will function as expected for every release. MEB supports SBT API version 2.0 In this blog, I am primarily going to focus the interface of MEB and Symantec's NB. If we are using tapes for backup, ensure that tape library and tape drives are compatible. Test Setup 1. Install NB 7.5 master and media servers in Linux OS. ( NB 7.1 can also be used but for testing purpose I used NB 7.5)2. Install MEB 3.8 also in Linux OS.3. Install NB admin console in your windows desktop and configure the NB master server from there. Note: Ensure that you have root user permission to install NetBackup. Configuration Steps for MEB and NB Once MEB and NB are installed, Ensure that NB is linked to MEB by specifying the library /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/libobk.so64 in the mysqlbackup command line using --sbt-lib-path. Configure the NB master server from windows console. That is configure the storage units by specifying the Storage unit name, Disk type, Media Server name etc.  Create NetBackup policies that are user selectable. But please make sure that policy type is "Oracle".  Define the clients where MEB will be executed. Some times this will be different host where MEB is run or some times in same Media server where NB and tapes are attached. Now once the installation and configuration steps are performed for MEB and NB, the next part is the actual execution.MEB should be run as single file backup using --backup-image option with prefix sbt:(it is a tag which tells MEB that it should stream the backup image through the SBT interface) which is sent to NB client via SBT interface . The resulting backup image is stored where NB stores the images that it backs up. The following diagram shows how MEB interacts with MMS through SBT interface. Backup The following parameters should also be ready for the execution,    --sbt-lib-path : Path to SBT library specific to NetBackup MMS. SBT lib for NetBackup  is in /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/libobk.so64    --sbt-environment: Environment variables must be defined specific to NetBackup.
