  • Lucene based database search engine

    Hi All, I am planing to add search feature in my web application. Now the items that will be searched are strored in a Relational database. In order to achieve a full text search engine I have following doubts : For database based search engine should I use just lucene or some other utility based on Luncene like Solr, luSql, Compass etc. In case of Solr, can it be embeded in to the web applcation rather than deploying it as a seaparate WAR.   • it takes 2 seconds to compile a hello world C++ project in netbeans (windows)

    I used code:blocks as the C++ IDE on Windows. I switched to netbeans 6.8 (with C/C++ plugin, MinGW, MSYS) recently, because netbeas have the nice feature of "checking syntax errors when typing" (same as working on Java or PHP projects). But the painful thing is that, it takes 2 seconds to compile a simple hello world project in netbeans. Any trick to make it as fast as code:blocks, or at least make the compiling time no more than 0.5 second?

I know how to use it by simply hijacking an existing language and add the wordbreaker to the registry for the hijacked language. However I'm not completely satisfied with that solution.   • AJAX: Problems returning multiple variables

    First off sorry if I'm missing something simple just started working with AJAX today. I have an issue where I'm trying to get information from my database, but different records have different amounts of values. For instance, each record has a "features" column. In the features column I store a string. (ex: Feature1~Feature2~Feature3~Feature4... ) When I'm building the object I take apart the string and store all the features into an array. Some objects can have 1 feature others can have up to whatever. So... how do I return this values back to my ajax function from my php page?     After reading several questions regarding problems with compilation (particularly C++) and noticing that in many cases the problem is a missing header #include. I couldn't help to wonder in my ignorance and ask myself (and now to you): Why are missing headers not automatically checked and added or requested to the programmer? Such feature is available for Java in Netbeans for example.

  • Solution for ora-1017 error for odp.net 2.111.7.0 ?

    Hi, As you are aware Oracle 11g has new facility of case sensitive password. We want to make use of it. When my C# application connects to oracle databse using ODP.Net 2.111.7.0 I am getting ora-1017 error. When we switch off this case sensitive feature it works without any change to the connection string. Any idea what is missing? is there any escape sequence we can use to specify lowercase characters in password? Thanks

    I'm using Tycho 0.16.0 and still getting the following Error: Error - 7 icon(s) not replaced in C:\Users\weich01\AppData\Local\Temp\p2.brandingIron8219115442087687624\launcher.exe using C:\Development\Workspaces\Workspace RCP SR2\de.mycompany.myproduct.product\target\products\MyProduct\de.mycompany.myproduct.feature\logo_pms_2011.ico This error should be fixed in v0.16, shouldn't it? With eclipse export everything works fine, so product definition is correct. The icon file contains bmp in all sizes. Thanks for your help

    Is it possible to make GNU Emacs 24 dim unfocused windows a bit? For example, I can set my rxvt-unicode clients to become darker when their windows don't have focus with this string in ~/.Xdefaults: URxvt*fading: 50 It greatly reduces discomfort when you have a lot of terminal windows on 2+ monitors.     From PDB (Pdb) help l l(ist) [first [,last]] List source code for the current file. Without arguments, list 11 lines around the current line or continue the previous listing. With one argument, list 11 lines starting at that line. With two arguments, list the given range; if the second argument is less than the first, it is a count. The "continue the previous listing" feature is really nice, but how do you turn it off?

    In dojo, one cannot call a overidden superclass method outside of the same method in the derived class (for which there is this.inherited(), other than that one can call using class_name.function_name.apply). This feature is no longer there because of some refactoring and dojo guys are not going to put it back because they are not convinced about a good enough case for this. Please read this mail thread for details. Isn't there a good enough case for this functionality? Why or why not?

  • How to stop DataGridView from polluting my Designer file with column controlls?

    I'm sure you know the problem, as soon as a BindingSource is connected to a DataGridView the DataGridView generates columns for each Property found in the Type of the BindingSource's DataSource and adds that crap to the Form.Designer.cs file. We only use run time generated columns, the clutter in the designer file is just waste of code, so how can we stop this "feature" of the DataGridView in WinForms?

    I am doing some input/output between a c++ and a python program (only floating point values) python has a nice feature of converting floating point values to hex-numbers and back as you can see in this link: http://docs.python.org/library/stdtypes.html#additional-methods-on-float Is there an easy way in C++ to to something similar? and convert the python output back to C++ double/float? This way I would not have the problem of rounding errors when exchanging data between the two processes... thx for the answers!

    Hi I try to realize simple code on perl which should just get/send messages from/to gtalk accounts. I use Net::XMPP::* modules. All works just fine for users, who are my friends (in my "buddy" list). But i can't send message to unknown user. I know, that for this case i must send an invitation first, but Net::XMPP::* don't provide this possibility. There is only one way to invite person - construct my own xml according to "XEP-0155 Stanza Session Negotiation" protocol. But this doesn't work correct. When i send xml to server, it returns error "service-unavailable".
