  • AppEngine: Can I write a Dynamic property (db.Expando) with a name chosen at runtime?

    - by MarcoB
If I have an entity derived from db.Expando I can write Dynamic property by just assigning a value to a new property, e.g. "y" in this example: class MyEntity(db.Expando): x = db.IntegerProperty() my_entity = MyEntity(x=1) my_entity.y = 2 But suppose I have the name of the dynamic property in a variable... how can I (1) read and write to it, and (2) check if the Dynamic variable exists in the entity's instance? e.g. class MyEntity(db.Expando): x = db.IntegerProperty() my_entity = MyEntity(x=1) # choose a var name: var_name = "z" # assign a value to the Dynamic variable whose name is in var_name: my_entity.property_by_name[var_name] = 2 # also, check if such a property esists if my_entity.property_exists(var_name): # read the value of the Dynamic property whose name is in var_name print my_entity.property_by_name[var_name] Thanks...

  • Using App Engine to update a database in a app

    - by tyczj
I have been reading about app engine but I still dont know what I can and cant do with it in a android application. Basically what I want to do is be able to create/manage a database in the cloud that the app can pull down and update the local database if needed. Creation and managing would be done outside of the app by me. I dont know much about all of this as I am just getting started with it but I already have an application made, I just want to add this feature to it. I have never written any sort of Web Service calls or anything either but I have used them to get data and such Can this be done? Any tutorials out there to help me out?

  • Mail Server with Google Apps

    - by Daniel Fukuda
Hello, Is there any mail server that has a feature to download (POP3) emails from another mail server like Google Apps (Gmail for your own domain), store it and then allow to users to download (POP3/IMAP) emails to their own mail client like Outlook/Live Mail? So I want it to become like a "middle mail server". I hope you guys understand it. My main reason to do so is that Google Apps got limited space for each mailbox and I also want to have emails in one space so its easy to archive and backup.

  • How to set CSS style colors in GWT

    - by AmaltasCoder
I have a GWT + AppEngine application that lets users create online polls. I want to let the poll creator choose from a variety of themes for his poll. We will save the theme a poll creator chose on the server and whenever a poll respondent access the poll he will get the questions with the chosen theme. A theme for us means a set of 4-5 colors which we will use to style the poll page. Our client side application is a GWT application with styles set inline in UiBinder templates elements, for example: <ui:style> .header { background: color1; padding: 6px 6px; } .anothercssclass { background: color2; padding: 6px 6px; } </ui:style> Please suggest how we can set the color1 and color2 from the theme saved on server. Please note this is NOT a GWT module theme question.

  • Flex 4: use google APIs in RIA without server side code?

    - by grapkulec
Just to confirm what I think I understand from reading about use of google APIs in RIAs (FLEX 4 and ActionScript) there is no way to connect to blogger API for example, directly from RIA because of google's crossdomain.xml file, right? So if I want to use their APIs to get some data like content of my mailbox or list of posts on my blog I have to have some code running server side and RIA would just use that code as httpservice to collect data from google? Or maybe I got it completly wrong?

  • Is there a way to have a dynamic google map that opens links in _blank?

    - by danieltalsky
I came up with a good solution for a client showing a google map iFrame using the normal google maps embed. Only problem? They want the links inside the iFrame to open in a new window instead of there on the page. So, I used the static API to come up with a static image of a map and have that link to the google maps site with target="_blank". Great, but they don't get the pretty draggable map. Is there a way to do what I want using the google maps API? I'm reading the API documentation but without actually trying it I'm not sure if it can be done, and would love it if someone with some experience with the API can point me in the right direction or just tell me why it's WAY not worth the effort.

  • fullscreen map not displayed correctly

    - by user1747168
    I want the map to be opened on full-screen. I've tried this: <div class="b-firm-map-content" id="map"></div> <a href="#" onclick="test2();return false;" >full screen</a> function test2(){ var width = $(window).width()-3; var height = $(window).height(); $('#map').css({ 'width': width, 'height': height - 40 , 'position': 'absolute ', 'z-index' : '900' }); } but it result in: http://pixs.ru/showimage/Snimokpng_5811285_6065704.png http://pixs.ru/showimage/Snimok1png_4265065_6065745.png My map not completely displayed.

  • Is it possible to have a composite index with a list property and a sort order?

    - by npdoty
And if not, why not? The following index always fails for me, even though I had thought I could have a sort order with a list property as long as the index didn't sort or match against any other properties. - kind: Foo properties: - name: location_geocells - name: time direction: desc If such a composite index is allowed, are there any reasons that this might be failing for me? Do the existence of other indices on the same model increase the likelihood of this failure? Does the combination of a sort order with a list property require more than N entries, where N is the number of values in the list property? (If so, how many does it require?)

  • Tabs.url is undefined

    - by Notionwork
    I have no clue what I'm doing wrong here! This should be working I believe. I'm writing a chrome extension and this should get the current tab's url and set the html of #current-tab to the url (for testing purposes). The code successfully gets to the callback, but it says that tab.url is undefined when I put it in an alert box, and it does not put it's value in #current-tab. Here's the code I have: $('#get-tab').click(function(){ chrome.tabs.query({"active" : true}, function(tab){ for (var i = 0; i < tab.length; i++) { alert(tab.url); $('#current-tab').append(tab.url); }; }); });

  • how do I instrospect appengine's datastore models?

    - by python for ever
in order to dynamically create a form, i have to find the property types of a model's properties at runtime. appengine docs says that Model.properties() will return a dictionary of properties name and their class type. when i use this method in my code, only the name is returned and the classtype value is always empty.

  • Create Marker Categories & Display Markers on Click Only

    - by MizAkita
I am trying to create marker categories and display markers on click... For example, "Eat", "Banks", "Places of Interest" and clicking on them would produce only the markers in those categories. You can see it live HERE Here is a code snippet: //<![CDATA[ //<![CDATA[ var map = null; var gmarkers = []; var gicons = []; var icon = []; function initialize() { var myOptions = { zoom: 13, center: new google.maps.LatLng(37.979183,-121.302381), mapTypeControl: true, mapTypeControlOptions: {style: google.maps.MapTypeControlStyle.DROPDOWN_MENU}, navigationControl: true, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP } map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); google.maps.event.addListener(map, 'click', function() { infowindow.close(); }); // Add markers to the map // Set up three markers with info windows ///////////////////////// EATS ////////////////////////////////////////////// var point = new google.maps.LatLng(37.988012,-121.311901); var image = 'icons/orangepointer.png'; var marker = createMarker(point,'<div style="width:205"><center><img src="icons/tigeryogurt.jpg" /></center><br><b>Tiger Yogurt</b><small><br>4343 Pacific Avenue<br>209.952.6042<br><br><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=&daddr=' + point.toUrlValue() + '" target ="_blank">Get Directions<\/a></small><\/div>', image); // this will be gmarkers[0] var point = new google.maps.LatLng(37.987054,-121.311655); var image = 'icons/orangepointer.png'; var marker = createMarker(point,'<div style="width:205"><center><img src="icons/mwbakery.jpg" /></center><br><b>M&W Bakery<br>Cakes & Sandwiches</b><small><br>4343 Pacific Avenue<br>209.473.3828<br><br>On the web visit:<br><a href="http://www.mandwdutchamericanbakery.com" target ="_blank">MandWDutchAmericanBakery.com<\/a><br><br><a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=&daddr=' + point.toUrlValue() + '" target ="_blank">Get Directions<\/a></small><\/div>', image); // this will be gmarkers[1] Currently, all markers display. • New Whitepaper: Upgrading EBS 11i Forms + OA Framework Personalizations to EBS 12

    - by Sara Woodhull
Personalizations are -- and have always been -- one of the safest and most upgradable ways to "customize" your Oracle E-Business Suite screens, both for Oracle Forms-based screens and for Oracle Application Framework-based pages. However, the upgrade from Release 11i to Release 12.1 spans many years of EBS evolution, during which time Oracle has actively been building many new features and modules. A lot has changed in Oracle E-Business Suite that may affect upgrading your personalizations from 11i to 12.1. We have published a new note on My Oracle Support that discusses ways to evaluate your existing personalizations:Upgrading Form Personalizations and OA Framework Personalizations from Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i to 12.1 (Note 1292611.1)Two distinct types of personalizations There are two distinct types of personalizations: Form Personalization OA Framework Personalization. Both types of personalization are completely metadata-based. The personalizations are stored as data in database tables. However, because the underlying technologies (Oracle Forms and OA Framework) are very different, Forms personalizations and OA Framework personalizations are not equivalent and cannot be converted or migrated from one to the other.

  • Identifying Data Model Changes Between EBS 12.1.3 and Prior EBS Releases

    - by Steven Chan
The EBS 12.1.3 Release Content Document (RCD, Note 561580.1) summarizes the latest functional and technology stack-related updates in a specific release.  The E-Business Suite Electronic Technical Reference Manual (eTRM) summarizes the database objects in a specific EBS release.  Those are useful references, but sometimes you need to find out which database objects have changed between one EBS release and another.  This kind of information about the differences or deltas between two releases is useful if you have customized or extended your EBS instance and plan to upgrade to EBS 12.1.3. Where can you find that information?Answering that question has just gotten a lot easier.  You can now use a new EBS Data Model Comparison Report tool:EBS Data Model Comparison Report Overview (Note 1290886.1)This new tool lists the database object definition changes between the following source and target EBS releases:EBS 11.5.10.2 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.0.4 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.1.1 and EBS 12.1.3EBS 12.1.2 and EBS 12.1.3For example, here's part of the report comparing Bill of Materials changes between 11.5.10.2 and 12.1.3:

  • SQL SERVER – T-SQL Script to Take Database Offline – Take Database Online

    - by pinaldave
Blog reader Joyesh Mitra recently left a comment to one of my very old posts about SQL SERVER – 2005 Take Off Line or Detach Database, which I have written focusing on taking the database offline. However, I did not include how to bring the offline database to online in that post. The reason I did not write it was that I was thinking it was a very simple script that almost everyone knows. However, it seems to me that there is something I found advanced in this procedure that is not simple for other people. We all have different expertise and we all try to learn new things, so I do not see any reason as to not write about the script to take the database online. -- Create Test DB CREATE DATABASE [myDB] GO -- Take the Database Offline ALTER DATABASE [myDB] SET OFFLINE WITH ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE GO -- Take the Database Online ALTER DATABASE [myDB] SET ONLINE GO -- Clean up DROP DATABASE [myDB] GO Joyesh let me know if this answers your question.
