I have a Google Map API v3 map object on a page that uses MarkerClusterer. I have a function that need to run when we click on the map to it is registered as:
google.maps.event.addListener(map, 'click', function (event) {
CallMe(event.latLng);
});
So my problem is as follows: When I click on a cluster of MarkerClusterer instead of behaving like a marker and not raise the click event on the map but only the one from the marker it calls the click from the map.
To test this I have generated an alert from the markerclusterer click:
google.maps.event.addListener(markerClusterer, "clusterclick", function (cluster) {
alert('MarkerClusterer click event');
});
So the clusterclick rises after the click event of map object. I then can't remove the listener of map object as a solution. Is there any way to test if there was a clusterer click in the click event of the map? Or a way to replicate the marker behaviour and do not raise the click event of map when clustererclick is called? Google and documentation didn’t help me.
Thx

I am writing sql reports to an oracle database, spooling them to a file and emailing them with mailx. I use the syntax below. The reports do not format properly, unless I use the Courier New font. How do I set this with mailx?
mailx -s "MY REPORT, date +'%D %r " -r "REPORTING SYSTEM" [email protected]< /mydir/mysql.log /dev/null
When I insert new text (insert textbox) or when I type in a presenter note, the default font size is 18. Can I change the default to 24? (I know about master slides but since text boxes and presenter notes are not place holders...)
My parents' domain is registered with Google Apps (standard edition). Currently, the only service they are using is email (which they access via IMAP in Outlook). I'd like to register this same domain with a hosted Exchange service so that they can sync their Exchange calendar, tasks, and contacts with Outlook as well. I'd like to keep their email on Google for a couple of reasons. Is this possible?
I am in the process of designing an extension for Google Chrome that helps to organize tabs (I know, there are many that already exist; that doesn't matter). I wish to open a popup window that will display tabs as objects (i.e., in the same way that it is displayed in the tab bar at the top of the browser). One way of doing this would be to pull various details (ID, Title, URL, etc.) from each tab, create a class and make instantiations of it upon the opening of each tab using these data, but this seems rather convoluted considering that what I want is sitting right there in the tab bar. Is there any simpler way to achieve this?
In addition, I have seen several apps that utilize page previews. Is there something in the API that allows direct access to these?
If there's a better place to ask this, please let me know.
Every time I build a new website/blog/shopping-cart/etc., I keep trying to do the following:
Extract out common functionality into reusable code (Rubygems and jQuery plugins mostly)
If possible, convert that gem into a small service so I never have to deal with a database for the objects involved (by service, I mean something lean and mean, usually built with the Sinatra Web Framework with a few core models).
My assumption is, if I can remove dependencies on local databases, that will make it easier and more scalable in the long run (scalable in terms of reusability and manageability, not necessarily database/performance). I'm not sure if that's a good or bad assumption yet. What do you think?
I've made this assumption because of the following reason:
Most serious database/model functionality has been built on the internet somewhere.
Just to name a few:
Social Network API: Facebook
Messaging API: Twitter
Mailing API: Google
Event API: Eventbrite
Shopping API: Shopify
Comment API: Disqus
Form API: Wufoo
Image API: Picasa
Video API: Youtube
...
Each of those things are fairly complicated to build from scratch and to make as optimized, simple, and easy to use as those companies have made them.
So if I build an app that shows pictures (picasa) on an Event page (eventbrite), and you can see who joined the event (facebook events), and send them emails (google apps api), and have them fill out monthly surveys (wufoo), and watch a video when they're done (youtube), all integrated into a custom, easy to use website, and I can do that without ever creating a local database, is that a good thing?
I ask because there's two things missing from the puzzle that keep forcing me to create that local database:
Post API
RESTful/Pretty Url API
While there's plenty of Blogging systems and APIs for them, there is no one place where you can just write content and have it part of some massive thing. For every app, I have to use code for creating pretty/restful urls, and that saves posts. But it seems like that should be a service!
Question is, is that what the website is? ...That place to integrate the worlds services for my specific cause... and, sigh, to store posts that only my site has access to. Will everyone always need "their own blog"? Why not just have a profile and write lots of content on an established platform like StackOverflow or Facebook?
... That way I can write apps entirely without a database and know that I'm doing it right.
Note: Of course at some point you'd need a database, if you were doing something unique or new. But for the case where you're just rewiring information or creating things like videos, events, and products, is it really necessary anymore??

Hi guys, I recently launched my web application and set up google analytics to monitor it. For some weird reason google analytics shows a 49.7 percent bounce rate - I'm quite suprised as to why and how is this possible.
My web application works well - I've never been bounced off even once whenever I visit it from any browser. What's going on I have no idea what to look out for here?
Does anyone know how to either:
Make ffmpeg set subtitle font size in the output video file
Make mencoder produce an iPhone-compatible video file (with subtitles)
I finally found out how to get Closed Captions video on iPhone, with mkv and srt files as source material. The secret was using the mov_text subtitle codec in ffmpeg (and turning on Closed Captions in the iPhone settings of course):
ffmpeg -y -i in.mkv -i in.srt -map 0:0 -map 0:1 -map 1:0 -vcodec copy -acodec aac -ab 256k -scodec mov_text -strict -2 -metadata title="Title" -metadata:s:s:0 language=eng out.mp4
However, the font size appears very small on the iPhone, and I can't find out how to set it with ffmpeg (the iPhone has no option for this).
I found out that mencoder has a -subfont-text-scale option, but I don't have a lot of experience with this program. The following, my best attempt so far, produces an output file which is not playable on the iPhone.
sudo port install mplayer +mencoder_extras +osd
mencoder in.mkv -sub in.srt -o out.mp4 -ovc copy -oac faac -faacopts br=256:mpeg=4:object=2 -channels 2 -srate 48000 -subfont-text-scale 10 -of lavf -lavfopts format=mp4
PS! As requested, here is the output from mencoder:

I recognize -absf aac_adtstoasc as an ffmpeg option (does mencoder spawn ffmpeg?), but I don't know how to pass this option on (my hunch is this is not even the origin of the problem).
Hi, I'm wondering is there an addon that lets you search (using default search bar preferably) the website in the current tab in Google with the "site:" keyword? This way I don't have to write the keyword and the URL every time I want to search a website in Google.
Thanks.
I have an open source Android app which I am planning on adding Flurry tracking to. Flurry creates a unique API key for your app's tracking.
Do I need to try and hide this API key in my source code (i.e. not include it and I would add it every time I build for release) or just not worry about it?
i want o pass several parameters to this url and generate the map from it and show it in my java application. i know the code to download the image and show it in the java application. i want to know how to pass parameters to this address
"http://maps.google.com/maps/api/staticmap?center=Nugegoda&zoom=14&size=1000x312&maptype=roadmap&markers=color:blue|label:S|size=tiny|Mirihana\&markers=size:mid|color:0xFFFF00|label:C|Udahamulla&sensor=false "
in this link Nugegoda and Mirihana and Udahamulla is the one that i should pass from the application. and then it will generate a image and i do need to show it. even if u check this link. its a image.

Dear all,
Does any one know if there is an API for listing all the twitters within a location.
Cause in Twitter Search API, it functions to list all the twits of specific locations, but not the twitters.
Thanks,
Lingchen
what's the best program for viewing font files? I need to see the glyphs and their corresponding unicode. Windows Character Map does a horrible job at displaying certain fonts.
I know how to setup multiple start pages in google chrome but I want one of those pages to be its default new tab page which shows the thumbnails for 9 most visited pages. Can this be done in google chrome?
Thanks for any replies in advance.
I'm looking for an image hosting website that'll allow me to upload images onto their servers from my own website using an API. I like Imgur.com's API but I'm looking for alternatives.
I am loading GoogleAPI using google.load() and I need to process some of what is built by it, but I need to run the JavaScript after it has already completely loaded, is there a way to ensure that happens?
Here is how I build the list of images, I need to add an attribute to each img tag though, can't do that until after it is built right?
google.load("feeds", "1");
function initialize() {
var feed = new google.feeds.Feed("myfeed.rss");
feed.load(function(result) {
if (!result.error) {
var container = document.getElementById("feed");
for (var i = 0; i < result.feed.entries.length; i++) {
var entry = result.feed.entries[i];
var entryTitle = entry.title;
var entryContent = entry.content;
imgContent = entryContent + "<p>"+entryTitle+"</p>";
var div = document.createElement("div");
div.className = "image";
div.innerHTML = imgContent;
container.appendChild(div);
}
}
});
}
google.setOnLoadCallback(initialize);
Using the Basecamp API, is it possible to create a new project? It seems like a simple task, so either I'm missing something or this functionality is not available via the API.
How would one go about creating a heat map (say, of the US) based on location data from Google Analytics? I'd like to somehow create such a map with the visitor data from several websites that use Google Analytics. I'm not really looking for a step-by-step tutorial, just some suggestions on how to start. Assume little to no programming experience, but a willingness to learn and hack together stuff to make it work.
Hello,
this works great in FF but not in IE, Chrome or Safari.
$('#countryDropDown option').click(function() {
var countryID = $(this).val();
dostuff();
});
// countryDropDown = id of select
So, as you can see I want to attach a click event to each option.
I alos tried
var allOpts = $('#countryDropDown option'),
l = allOpts.length,
i = 0;
for (i = 0; i < l; i += 1) {
$(allOpts[i]).click(function() {
var countryID = $(this).val();
doStuff();
});
}
It still does not want to work in any other browser but FF. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
I want to know how or what are the keywords by which a page can be searches on Google.
Is there any tool on web by which I can get keywords for the page I want to search.
Eg. If we search test on Google we will find this .
Now what do i have to search(keywords) to find a particular page lets say abc.com/test.php
Is there any tool by which i can get those keywords?
Sorry if I am not clear with the question?
Recently, Google updated their search results page. Unfortunately, this broke pretty much every Greasemonkey script used on the results page, including the very useful filter scripts. I use these scripts at work when I encounter a coding problem that (for some reason) hasn't been answered at StackOverflow, and don't want to see sites like experts-exchange. Has anyone found a new script or updated their own to work with Google's new results page?
Is it possible to make requests to a Web API with ASP classic?
For example just something as simple as the Flickr API, or was this sort of thing not supported way back when?
