• iPhone UITableViewCell selectionStyle when editing?

  Hello, I know I can change the selectionStyle of a UITableViewCell to make it highlight blue or grey when selected, but how can I change this when in editing mode. I dont want the cell to normally by selectable, only when in editing mode, like the Alarm part of the Clock application. Thanks

• PHP SASL(PECL) sasl_server_init(app) works with CLI but not with ApacheModule

  I have written a simple auth script so that Webusers can type in their username and password and my PHP script verifies them by SASL. The SASL Library is initialized by php function sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). So phpfoo.conf in /etc/sasl2/ is used. phpfoo.conf: pwcheck_method: saslauthd mech_list: PLAIN LOGIN log_level: 9 So the SASL library now tries to connect to saslauthd process by socket. saslauthd command line looks like this: /usr/sbin/saslauthd -r -V -a pam -n 5 So saslauthd uses PAM to authenticate. In the php script I have created sasl connection by sasl_server_new("php", null, "myRealm"); The first argument is the servicename. So PAM uses the file /etc/pam.d/php to see for further authentication information. /etc/pam.d/php: auth required pam_mysql.so try_first_pass=0 config_file=/etc/pam.d/mysqlconf.nss account required pam_permit.so session required pam_permit.so mysqlconf.nss has all information that is needed for a useful MySQL Query to user table. All of this works perfectly when I run the script by command line. php ssasl.php But when I call the same script via webbrowser(php apache module) I get an -20 return code (SASL_NOUSER). In /var/log/messages there is May 18 15:27:12 hostname httpd2-prefork: unable to open Berkeley db /etc/sasldb2: No such file or directory I do not have anything with a Berkeley db for authentication with SASL. I think authentication using /etc/sasldb2 is the default setting. In my opinion it does not read my phpfoo.conf file. For some reason the php-apache-module ignores the parameter in sasl_server_init("phpfoo"). My first thought was that there is a permission issue. So back in shell: su -s /bin/bash wwwrun php ssasl.php "Authentication successful". - No file-permission issue. In the source of the sasl-php-extension we can find: PHP_FUNCTION(sasl_server_init) { char *name; int name_len; if (zend_parse_parameters(1 TSRMLS_CC, "s", &name, &name_len) == FAILURE) { return; } if (sasl_server_init(NULL, name) != SASL_OK) { RETURN_FALSE; } RETURN_TRUE; } This is a simple pass through of the string. Anyway, there are some interesting log entries when I run PHP in CLI mode: May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: SQL engine 'mysql' not supported May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sqlite May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: sql_select option missing May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: auxpropfunc error no mechanism available May 18 15:44:48 hostname php: _sasl_plugin_load failed on sasl_auxprop_plug_init for plugin: sql Those lines are followed by lines of saslauthd and PAM which results in authentication success.(I do not get any of them in ApacheModule mode) Looks like that he is trying auxprop pwcheck before saslauthd. I have no other .conf file in /etc/sasl2. When I change the parameter of sasl_server_init to something other then I get the same error in CLI mode as in ApacheModule mode.

• how to dynamically replace css?

  I've got an image on the page (class='image') within the div (class='galleria_wrapper') and want to place a caption (class='caption') at the lower right corner under that image. The image could be vertical or horizontal, and making a fixed padding-right value let's say .caption<{float:right;padding-top:5px;padding-right:90px;} is not working for one or another. I need to switch on the fly padding-right value depending on horizontal or vertical image is currently on the page. I can theoretically access image's width through document.getElementByName('image').width although don't understand where to put that code. So, I probably need something like that: document.getElementByClass('caption').padding-right = (document.getElementByName('galleria_wrapper').width - document.getElementByName('image').width)/2 Where do I put this code? I do have that in my css file: .caption{float:right;padding-top:5px;} which places the caption below the image, but to far to the right (div 'galleria_wrapper' is wider than most of the images supposed to be displayed within that area). I have an img tag in the html: <img src=image title='this is caption' /></li> ...and some JavaScript which makes title displayed styled by the "caption" css definition. How do I assign variable value for the padding-right without in-advance knowledge of particular image's width?

• IE History Tracking, IFRAMES, and Cross Domain error...

  So here's the deal. We have a Flash application that is running within an HTML file. For one page we call a legacy reporting system in ASP.NET that is within an IFRAME. This page then communicates back to the Flash application using cross-domain scripting (document.domain = "domain" is set in both pages. THIS ALL WORKS. Now the kicker. Flash has history tracking enabled. This loads the history.js file that created a div tag to store page changes so the back and forward buttons work in the browser. Which works for Firefox and Chrome as they create a div tag. HOWEVER In Internet Explorer, history.js creates another IFRAME (instead of a DIV) called ie_historyFrame. When the ScriptResource.axd code attempts to access this with: var frameDoc = this._historyFrame.contentWindow.document; we get an "Access is Denied" error message. ARGH! We've tried getting a handle to this IFRAME and inserting the document.domain code. FAIL. We've tried editing the historytemplate.html file that flex also uses to include document.domain... FAIL. I've tried to edit the underlying ASP.NET page to disable history tracking in the ScriptManager control. FAIL. At my wit's end on this one. We have users who need to use IE to access this site. They are big clients who we cannot tell to just use Firefox. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  I am trying dynamically to append an <svg> element within an existing SVG island on an XHTML page (Firefox 3.6.3). Done manually, this works as expected: <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"> <svg xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"> ... </svg> </svg> However, if you dynamically add this element using JavaScript, the browser crashes. • javascript: detect if XP or Classic windows theme is enabled

  Is there any way to detect which windows XP theme is in use? I suspect that there is no specific api call you can make, but you may be able to figure it out by checking something on some DOM element, ie feature detection.   I'm trying to do xpath queries over an xhtml document. The document looks like this: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html lang="en" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en"> <head> .... </head> <body> ... </body> </html> Because the document includes various char entities (&nbsp; and so on), I need to use the DTD, in order to load it with an XmlReader. So my code looks like this: var reader = XmlReader.Create(sr, new XmlReaderSettings { ProhibitDtd = false }); But when I run this, it returns An error has occurred while opening external DTD 'http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1-transitional.dtd': The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable. Now, I know why I am getting the 503 error. W3C explained it very clearly. But I still want to validate the document. How can I validate with the DTD, and get the entity definitions, without hitting the w3.org website? related: - java.io.IOException: Server returned HTTP response code: 503

• Garbled text in Screen [closed]

  The graphical Interface in my system is garbled with some text. At the beginning I thought it was due to java and tomcat that I installed. But after removing java and tomcat, it is still the same.   I have changed code around to basically load an add the bottom of the page in a hidden div and attached an onload event handler that called document.getElementById(xxx).appendChild() to take the hidden ad and move it into the right spot in my page. This works GREAT.. however when the ad is a text ad it AFTER i move the ad there is nothing in the rendered Iframe. I did tests to see what it looks like before i move it and sure enough the text links load in the IFRAME but the second i do the appendChild call to move the div that contains the ad i seem to loose the contents of the Iframe. Any ideas whats going on <div id="myad" style="display: none;"> GA_googleFillSlot("MyADSlotName"); </div> <script> window.onload = function() { // leader board document.getElementById('adplaceholder').appendChild(document.getElementById('myAd')); document.getElementById('myAd').style.display = ''; </script> UPDATE: I think what the problem here is that on text ads google writes to the iframe directly inserting the relevant text links where are on other ads it uses the iframe to just point to some src. seems like when i do the appendchild, if there is no "src" set for the iframe after the copy is done the iframe in the new location contains nothing... guess it does a reload on the src? Any way around this??

• iText PDFReader Extremely Slow To Open

  I have some code that combines a few pages of acro forms (with acrofields in tact) and then at the end writes some JS to the entire document. It is the PdfReader in the function adding the JS that is taking extremely long to instantiate (about 12 seconds for a 1MB file). Here is the code (pretty simple): public static byte[] AddJavascript(byte[] document, string js) { PdfReader reader = new PdfReader(new RandomAccessFileOrArray(document), null); MemoryStream msOutput = new MemoryStream(); PdfStamper stamper = new PdfStamper(reader, msOutput); PdfWriter writer = stamper.Writer; writer.AddJavaScript(js); stamper.Close(); reader.Close(); byte[] withJS = msOutput.GetBuffer(); return withJS; } I have benchmarked the above and the line that is slow is the first one. I have tried reading it from a file instead of memory and tried using a MemoryStream instead of the RandomAccessFileOrArray. Nothing makes it any faster. If I add JS to a single page document, it is very fast. So my thought is that the code that combines the pages is somehow making the PDF slow to read for the PdfReader. Here is the combine code: public static byte[] CombineFiles(List<byte[]> sourceFiles) { MemoryStream output = new MemoryStream(); PdfCopyFields copier = new PdfCopyFields(output); try { output.Position = 0; foreach (var fileBytes in sourceFiles) { PdfReader fileReader = new PdfReader(fileBytes); copier.AddDocument(fileReader); } } catch (Exception exception) { //throw } finally { copier.Close(); } byte[] concat = output.GetBuffer(); return concat; } I am using PdfCopyFields because I need to preserve the form fields and so cannot use the PdfCopy or PdfSmartCopy. This combine code is very fast (few ms) and produces working documents. The AddJS code above is called after it and the PdfReader open is the slow piece. Any ideas?

  My Query I want to extract only images from a PDF document, using Objective-C in an iPhone Application. My Efforts I have gone through the info on this link, which has details regarding different operators on PDF documents. I also studied this document from Apple about PDF parsing with Quartz. I also went through the entire PDF reference document from the Adobe site. According to that document, for each image there are the following operators: q Q BI EI I have created a table to get the image: myTable = CGPDFOperatorTableCreate(); CGPDFOperatorTableSetCallback(myTable, "q", arrayCallback2); CGPDFOperatorTableSetCallback(myTable, "TJ", arrayCallback); CGPDFOperatorTableSetCallback(myTable, "Tj", stringCallback); I use this method to get the image: void arrayCallback2(CGPDFScannerRef inScanner, void *userInfo) { // THIS DOESN'T WORK // CGPDFStreamRef stream; // represents a sequence of bytes // if (CGPDFDictionaryGetStream (d, "BI", &stream)){ // CGPDFDataFormat t=CGPDFDataFormatJPEG2000; // CFDataRef data = CGPDFStreamCopyData (stream, &t); // } } This method is called for the operator "q", but I don't know how to extract an image from it. • Setting System.Drawing.Color through .NET COM Interop

  I am trying to use Aspose.Words library through COM Interop. There is one critical problem: I cannot set color. It is supposed to work by assigning to DocumentBuilder.Font.Color, but when I try to do it I get OLE error 0x80131509. • Why do properties require explicit typing during compilation?

  Compilation using property syntax requires the type of the receiver to be known at compile time. I may not understand something, but this seems like a broken or incomplete compiler implementation considering that Objective-C is a dynamic language. The property "comment" is defined with: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *comment; and synthesized with: @synthesize comment; "document" is an instance of one of several classes which conform to: @protocol DocumentComment <NSObject> @property (nonatomic, retain) NSString *comment; @end and is simply declared as: id document; When using the following property syntax: stringObject = document.comment; the following error is generated by gcc: error: request for member 'comment' in something not a structure or union However, the following equivalent receiver-method syntax, compiles without warning or error and works fine, as expected, at run-time: stringObject = [document comment]; I don't understand why properties require the type of the receiver to be known at compile time. Is there something I am missing? I simply use the latter syntax to avoid the error in situations where the receiving object has a dynamic type. Properties seem half-baked.

• Server unable to find public folder in rails 3 production environment

  Hi, I'm using the latest rails 3 beta. The app works fine in development mode, but when I start the server in production mode via rails server -e production, it seems that the public folder can't be found. I get error messages like: ActionController::RoutingError (No route matches "/javascripts/jquery.js"): And similar messages for everything that should be in the public folder. I've tried this with both mongrel and webrick. I'd appreciate any help.

• Orientation change event in Browser on Palm webOS

  I'm working on a web application where I'm trying to capture when the user rotates the screen. Fundamentally, I want to know if the user is browsing in portrait mode or landscape mode. The iPhone/iPad and Android browsers send a resize event when the screen orientation changes. Unfortunately, the browser in webOS doesn't seem to send that notification. Any advice on how to detect in the browser any changes in orientation on Palm webOS? Thanks.

  I'm stuck with recursion, was wondering if anyone can help me out with it. I have <Receipts> and <Deposits> elements, that are not verbose, i.e. that a <Receipts> element doesn't have an attribute to show what <Deposit> it is towards. I need to figure out <Deposits> "still amount due" and when a last receipt towards it was paid if any. I'm trying to do it with the following code: The idea was to take 1st deposit and see if there are receipts. If the deposit isn't fully paid and there are more receipts - call that recorsive function with all the same params except now count in following receipt. If there aren't any more receipts or deposit is payed - process it correctly (add required attributes). Otherwise proceed with 2nd deposit. And so on. However, the XSLT crashes with error message that "a processor stack has overflowed - possible cause is infinite template recursion" I would really appreciate any help/teps... I'm not that great with recursion and can't understand why mine here doesn't work. • Create a screen like the iPhone home screen with Scrollview and Buttons

  Hi, I'm working on a project and need to create a screen similar to the iPhone home screen: A scrollview with multiple pages A bunch of icons When not in edit mode, swipe through different pages (even I started the touch on an icon) When not in edit mode, tap an icon to do something When in edit mode, drag the icon to swap places, and even swap to different pages When in edit mode, tap an icon to remove it Previously I read from several forums that I have to subclass UIScrollview in order to have touch input for the UIViews on top of it. So I subclassed it overriding the methods to handle touches: - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { //If not dragging, send event to next responder if (!self.dragging) [self.nextResponder touchesBegan:touches withEvent:event]; else [super touchesBegan:touches withEvent:event]; } In general I've override the touchesBegan:, touchesMoved: and touchesEnded: methods similarly. Then in the view controller, I added to following code: - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; UIView *hitView = (UIView *)touch.view; if ([hitView isKindOfClass:[UIView class]]) { [hitView doSomething]; NSLog(@"touchesBegan"); } } - (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { // Some codes to move the icons NSLog(@"touchesMoved"); } - (void)touchesEnded:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { NSLog(@"touchesEnded"); } When I run the app, I have the touchesBegan method detected correctly. However, when I tried to drag the icon, the icon just moved a tiny bit and then the page started to scroll. In console, it logged with 2 or 3 "touchesMoved" message only. However, I learned from another project that it should logged tonnes of "touchesMoved" message as long as I'm still dragging on the screen. (I'm suspecting I have the delaysContentTouches set to YES, so it delays a little bit when I tried to drag the icons. After that minor delay, it sends to signal back to the scrollview to scroll through the page. Please correct me if I'm wrong.) So if any help on the code to perform the above tasks would be greatly appreciated. I've stuck in this place for nearly a week with no hope. Thanks a lot.

  I'm using the RighAWS gem, and mocking at the http level so that the RightAWS code is being executed as part of my tests. When this happens I get the following output ....New RightAws::S3Interface using per_request-connection mode Opening new HTTP connection to s3.amazonaws.com:80 .New RightAws::S3Interface using per_request-connection mode . Even though all the tests pass, when I do have errors its harder to scan them because of this output. is there a nice way to silence it?

  I have been working on this code, and I can't seem to figure it out. Fancybox's callbacks don't seem to work at all. I have the keyboard bound to the pagination for this gallery. But I want to unbind the keyboard from the table when fancybox opens. When fancybox opens nothing changes....
