  Im currently creating a tile-based game for android. Using java via dalvik JVM. im fretting over a decision to represent objects in a particular map. should i use an id based map (2 dimensional integer array) and place game logic in a separate function in the game engine, or create an object array (2 dimensional array of game objects) and store game logic within the class methods. i am thinking about the cost of object creation and garbage collection vs extensibility.

  Hi all, I try to send a request to my server via GET, but qooxdoo sends request as OPTIONS. Is any way to change this behaviour? I try to use qx.data.store.Json (url) and qx.io.remote.Request (url, "GET", type) but result is same in both cases. My version of qooxdoo is 1.0.1, browsers are FF 3.5.6 and Chromium 5.0.361.

  I am using PBE encryption to encrypt and decrypt some text on an Android application but I get the BadPaddingException: with the "pad block corrupted" message when I use the wrong private key to decrypt the text. My question, since I am not well versed with encryption in Java, is if this is the normal behavior of the encryption API, because I need to do some logic in the case when the wrong key is entered, but I do not know the private key, nor do I store it anywhere (storing just the encrypted and decrypted check text).   I have created a turing-complete programming language (already proven) so it must be possible to write a quine for it, right? But all quines I know store their source code in a string and then replace a special character in it using something like chr and ord. My language only has the following Basic arithmetics Int and string types Variables == operator Conditional gotos I have no idea how I could write a quine as I have no real string manipulation available, I can only output constant strings. Yet, it is 100% turing-complete.

  Should libraries that the application relies on be stored in source control? One part of me says it should and another part say's no. It feels wrong to add a 20mb library that dwarfs the entire app just because you rely on a couple of functions from it (albeit rather heavily). Should you just store the jar/dll or maybe even the distributed zip/tar of the project? What do other people do?

I assume it doesn't like that I'm storing a constant in a dictionary. Well, where can I store it then? Should I just place (void *) before every constant?

But most programs store their settings in the sub-folder "anwendungsdaten" (German, application data). Is there a way to get the direct path to this folder?   Hello, I am trying to make a program in Java that checks for three specific inputs. It has to be 1. At least 7 characters. 2. Contain both upper and lower case alphabetic characters. 3. Contain at least 1 digit. So far I have been able to make it check if there is 7 characters, but I am having trouble with the last two. What should I put in my loop as an if statement to check for digits and make it upper and lower case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Therefore i need to locate two files: td_26_[username].db preferences_[username].xml I found them on windows under the folder c:\Users[account]\AppData\Roaming\TweetDeckFast.[random string]\Local Store\ But i can't find them on my ubuntu installation.
