    I'm trying to define a function in Haskell that takes an integer argument c and returns the list of all points on the cartesian plane of the form (x/c,y/c) where x and y are integers. x/c is between -2 and 1 and y/r is between -1 and 1 This is what I've gotten so far which I'm almost sure is right but I'm getting a parse error on input = when I run it particularly at this line: cart xs ys c = [(y/c,x/c) | x <- xs, y <- ys] plane :: Int -> [a] plane c = cart [-1*c .. 1*c] [-2*c .. 1*c] c cart xs ys c = [(y/c,x/c) | x <- xs, y <- ys] A sample output would be: plane 1 would generate: [(-2.0, -1.0), (-1.0, -1.0), ( 0.0, -1.0), ( 1.0, -1.0), (-2.0, 0.0), (-1.0, 0.0), ( 0.0, 0.0), ( 1.0, 0.0), (-2.0, 1.0), (-1.0, 1.0), ( 0.0, 1.0), ( 1.0, 1.0)] Anyone have any idea how I can fix this!   • Saving information in the IO System

    Hi Kernel Gurus, I need to write a kernel module that simulate a "multicaster" Using the /proc file system. Basically it need to support the following scenarios: 1) allow one write access to the /proc file and many read accesses to the /proc file. 2) The module should have a buffer of the contents last successful write. Each write should be matched by a read from all reader. Consider scenario 2, a writer wrote something and there are two readers (A and B), A read the content of the buffer, and then A tried to read again, in this case it should go into a wait_queue and wait for the next message, it should not get the same buffer again. I need to keep a map of all the pid's that already read the current buffer, and in case they try to read again and the buffer was not changed, they should be blocked until there is a new buffer. I'm trying to figure it there is a way i can save that info without a map. I heard there are some redundant fields inside the I/O system the I can use to flag a process if it already read the current buffer. Can someone give me a tip where should i look for that field ? how can i save info on the current process without keeping a "map" of pid's and buffers ? Thanks!

    On Windows I/O completion ports, say I do this: void function() { WSASend("1111"); // A WSASend("2222"); // B WSASend("3333"); // C } If I got a "write-complete" that says 3 bytes of WSASend() A were sent, is it possible that right after that I'll get a "write-complete" that tells me that some or all of B & C were sent, or will TCP will hold them until I re-issue a WSASend() call with the rest of A's data? Or will TCP complete it automatically?

    How to simulating two client-controlled vehicles colliding (sensibly) in a typical client/server setup for a network game? I did read this eminent blog post on how to do distributed network physics in general (without traditional client prediction), but this question is specifically on how to handle collisions of owned objects. Example Say client A is 20 ms ahead of server, client B 300 ms ahead of server (counting both latency and maximum jitter). This means that when the two vehicles collide, both clients will see the other as 320 ms behind - in the opposite direction of the velocity of the other vehicle. Head-to-head on a Swedish highway means a difference of 16 meters/17.5 yards! What not to try It is virtually impossible to extrapolate the positions, since I also have very complex vehicles with joints and bodies all over, which in turn have linear and angular positions, velocities and accelerations, not to mention states from user input.

    The book of CLR via C# has this line at page 76. When you install the .NET Framework, tow copies of Microsoft's assembly files are actuall installed. One set is installed into the compiler/CLR directory, and another set is installed into GAC subdirectory I could find the GAC at C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly, but I couldn't find the compiler/CLR thing. What's the physical directory name of compiler/CLR? I mean, where is it? Why there are two GAC in assembly directory? I find GAC_32 and GAC_MSIL.

  • What are the best websites/web applications for specific languages?

    Browsing around Stackoverflow, I get overwhelmed with the number of "Why should I learn Python/Ruby/PHP/.Net/jQuery..." and the list goes on. Most answers, although good, are usually battles from language A programmer to language B programmer detailing why one piece sucks more than another. People can discuss the theoretical benefits of one over another but in the end, money/glitz talks and the rest walks. I am more interested in the potential opportunity that can come from one language or another over others. A little background, I am a project manager turned novice 'programmer' out of corporate necessity within the small company I currently work with so I have both relatively no set preference or experience, more out of curiosity. While I realize all are not created equal and for similar things, I think it would be interesting to start a list of the best websites / web applications built on specific languages/frameworks just to highlight the possibilities with each and give somebody like me motivation to say "How the heck was that done?     Where I am, I can't afford to get certification. I'm definitely not the best programmer, but I do know my junk. I've been writing software in C++ for over 8 years now and have a very good knowledge of the Win32 API. But when applying for jobs, I get rejected every time I send a resume. I've given my resume to recruitment firms and asked them what they think's wrong with it and they said the only thing they could think of is the fact that I don't have certifications to prove that I know my stuff. But in my resume, I explain my previous work and projects, and also note that upon request they can actually see what I've done. Is there anything that you would suggest that might help others to stop ignoring my resumes? Thank you

  • Having trouble getting GET variables from url.

    Hey everyone, I'm having trouble with this algorithm to extract the get variables from a url and print them each on a new line like: x=y z=hello etc. but instead it prints a seemingly random section of the url with no newlines to the file.
