• Problem Installing Application on iPhone: Resource has been modified

  Hi, I am working on a simple iPhone application and when I run my app on my machine it installs on the device, but when I try it on a Windows machine using an ad-hoc distribution profile, it shows an error: "Application couldn't be installed because a resource has been modified." I have 2 iPhones and have tested the same app; on iPhone 2G it works fine, but on the 3G it shows the error I have written above. I tried to change the certificate and provisioning profiles, but no luck. Please let me know where I am mistaken. Thanks. Steve

• Server taking too long to respond error

  This is my first post on serverFault and my first entry in to web server configuration. The hardware and software. CPU: GenuineIntel, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz OS: Linux 2.6.18-128.el5 Memory: 2Gb Background. I am running a small database (MySQL), around 1000 records with each record containing 44 fields. At the start of each day “00:01” the tables are cleared and populated with fresh data. The are 10 remote PCs all running Winodws XP and Firefox internet browser. All remote PC’s are connected to the internet using a min 4Gb broadband connection. Each remote PC runs a URL which displays a dynamic page of data which is refreshed every 20 seconds. This is a continual process 24 hours a day. I problem I am having is on odd occasions throughout the day the PC browser error with “Server taking too long to respond error”. What I am trying to find our is if I have the correct setting in the httpd.conf file on the server. Any help or advice anyone can provide would be very helpful. • DELETING doubled users (MySQL)

  Hi I have two tables. There are users informations from two sites: p_users p_users2 There are 3726 users in first and 13717 in second. Some users in p_users2 are in p_users. I want merge this two tables to the one big table - but rows with same usernames can't be doubled. How can I do this? I tried something like this: DELETE FROM p_users2 WHERE user_id IN ( select p.user_id from p_users p join p_users2 p2 on p.username=p2.username ) After that I should receive a table with unique usernames, which I want to export and import to the first one. But when I execute my query I got error: SQL Error (1093): You can't specify target table 'p_users2' for update in FROM clause. (MYSQL)

• Windows Remote Desktop (RDP/MSTSC) fails with Error Code: 5

  I have 2 Windows XP boxen: A (running XP SP3) and B (running XP SP2). I'm using Remote Desktop to connect from A to B. When I connect, I get the login screen (which is slow to respond to keyboard/mouse input), and after logging in, I get the following: Fatal Error (Error Code: 5) Your Remote Desktop session is about to end. This computer might be low on virtual memory. Close your other programs, and then try connecting to the remote computer again. If the problem continues, contact your network administrator or technical support. I've seen one way to (sometimes) get in by opening a second RDP session to the same box [1], and if I wait long enough sometimes it will go ahead and log in anyway. Is there something broken/missing on the PC I'm trying to remote in to? Edited in reply to djangofan: There's nobody listed under "Lock pages in memory". When the double login trick works, a glance at Task Manager shows plenty of free memory, 800MB available out of 1.5 GB. (Performance tab, Physical memory) For what it's worth, this happens consistently after a reboot. What sort of exact info would be useful? • Locating binding errors

  I'm dealing with a large WPF application that is outputting a large number of binding errors. A typical error looks like this: System.Windows.Data Error: 4 : Cannot find source for binding with reference 'RelativeSource FindAncestor, AncestorType='System.Windows.Controls.ItemsControl', AncestorLevel='1''. BindingExpression:Path=HorizontalContentAlignment; DataItem=null; target element is 'MenuItem' (Name=''); target property is 'HorizontalContentAlignment' (type 'HorizontalAlignment') Problem is I don't know where in the app this is coming from. Searching the entire solution for AncestorType={x:Type ItemsControl} doesn't necessary help since I still don't know which result is the culprit. I've tried setting PresentationTraceSources.DataBindingSource.Switch.Level = SourceLevels.All; but the extra information doesn't help locate the problematic bindings. File names and line numbers is really what I need. Is there anyway to get this information?

• Ubuntu : apt-get command error

  I work with Ubuntu 10.04 everyday. Several days ago, when I release command sudo apt-get install .... it run very good, no error. I also able to open websites with my browser with no proxy. But, today, I got error. Every time I release the command, the connection redirected to an IP in my local network. I can see it in the terminal window. Several days ago I tried to connect to the internet throught the IP, by SSH tunneling. But I forget what I have done and there is no way home. This is the output in terminal : deo@deo-laptop:~$ sudo apt-get update [sudo] password for deo: Err http://cx.archive.ubuntu.com lucid Release.gpg [ Could not connect to 10.7.7.15:3128 (10.7.7.15). - connect (110: Connection timed out) Err http://cx.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Translation-en_US Unable to connect to 10.7.7.15:3128: 10.7.7.15 is an adress in my local network. Somebody please help me :)

• Windows 7 - system error 5 problem

  My wife has just had a new computer for Christmas (with an upgrade from VISTA to Windows 7), and has joined the home network. We are using a mix of WindowsXP and Ubuntu boxes linked via a switch. We are all in the same workgroup. (No domain). Internet access, DHCP, and DNS server is an SME server that thinks it is domain controller (although we are not using a domain). I need to run a script to back up my wife's machine (venus). In the past the script creates a share on a machine with lots of space (leda), and then executes the line. PSEXEC \\venus -u admin -p adminpassword -c -f d:\Progs\snapshot.exe C: \\leda\Venus\C-drive.SNA With the wife's old XP machine, this would run the sysinternals utility, copy shapshot,exe to her machine and run it, which would then back up her C: drive to the share on leda. I cannot get this to work with Windows 7, nor can I link through to the C$ share on her machine. This gives me a permissions error (system error 5). The admin account is a full admin account. And yes - I do know the password. The ordinary shares on her machine work fine! I guess I'm missing something that Microsoft have built into Windows 7 - but what? The machine is running Windows 7 business, with windows firewall, AVG anti virus, and all the crap-ware you get with a new PC removed. Thanks

• Perl equivalent to Java's "throws" clausule.

  Is there a way in Perl to declare that a method can throw an error (or die)? I always loved how in Java, a method could handle an Exception and/or throw it. The method signature allows to put "throws MyException", so a good IDE/compiler would know that if you use said method somewhere in your code, you'd have to check for the Exception or declare your function to "throws" the Exception further. I'm unable to find something alike in Perl. A collegue of mine wrote a method which "dies" on incorrect input, but I forget to eval-if($@) it... offcourse the error was only discovered while a user was running the application. (offcourse I doubt if there is any existing IDE that could find these kind of things for Perl, but atleast perl -cw should be able to, no?)

• WT-NMP - PHP-CGI randomly stops running with no error log

  We have recently installed WT-NMP and are currently running Php-Cgi with php 5.4.24. We are running fairly simple php scripts and when testing everything is running fine. Over the weekend we wanted to keep the server running test it over a longer period of time. The server and scripts ran fine all day on Friday, but sometime late on Saturday, the php-cgi stopped running. There are no errors in the error log (C:\WT-NMP\log). In the configuration (php.ini) I have the following options set: error_reporting = E_ALL display_errors = On display_startup_errors = On log_errors = On html_errors = On error_log = "c:/wt-nmp/log/php_error.log" We also have the standard nginx.conf error logs: access_log "c:/wt-nmp/log/nginx_access.log"; error_log "c:/wt-nmp/log/nginx_error.log" warn; So, since the log directory is empty, I am assuming that the running php scripts and general nginx operations are not causing the php-cgi to stop. So my questions are: What else could cause the php-cgi to stop running? Are there any other options for logging that we could turn on that could help us track this down? Are there other log locations that we should be looking at? Thanks!

• Apache debugging: where to find error logs?

  I'm new to Apache and web serving generally, so apologies if this is a very stupid question. I want to configure a new sub-domain on a working site and install a forum there. I'm using a Debian server that already has Apache, mod_wsgi and a bunch of virtual hosts successfully running on it. I first installed my forum app (Django's OSQA). Following the OSQA instructions, I then created an Apache config file that specified ServerName as the new sub-domain. I also created a .wsgi file for the app, and pointed WSGIScriptAlias at it. I then restarted Apache. However, when I go to the new sub-domain, I get a 404 error message. Two questions: Is there a step missing above? Or is simply creating a new Apache config file in sites-available enough to 'tell' Apache about a new sub-domain? If there's something else going wrong, how can I debug it? The ErrorLog and CustomLog specified in the config file are both blank. apache2.conf, which I guess is Apache-wide configuration, specifies ErrorLog /var/log/apache2/error.log, but this is yet another blank file.

• Trying to include a library, but keep getting 'undefined reference to' messages

  I am attempting to use the libtommath library. I'm using the NetBeans IDE for my project on Ubuntu linux. I have downloaded and built the library, I have done a 'make install' to put the resulting .a file into /usr/lib/ and the .h files into /usr/include It appears to be finding the files appropriately (since I no longer get those errors, which I did before installing into the /usr directories). However, when I create a simple main making a call to mp_init (which is in the library), I get the following error when I attempt to make my project: mkdir -p build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86 rm -f build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/main.o.d gcc -c -g -MMD -MP -MF build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/main.o.d -o build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/main.o main.c mkdir -p dist/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86 gcc -o dist/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/cproj1 build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/main.o build/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/main.o: In function 'main': /home/[[myusername]]/NetBeansProjects/CProj1/main.c:18: undefined reference to `mp_init' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[2]: *** [dist/Debug/GNU-Linux-x86/cproj1] Error 1 So, it looks like the linker can't find the function within the library, however it IS there, so I just don't know what could be causing this. Any help would be appreciated. I get the same error if I type the gcc command directly and skip the makefile, I also made sure the static library got compiled with gcc as well. If the library isn't being found how on earth do I get it to find the library? It's in /usr/lib, I've tried it with the .a file in the current directory, etc. Is there an environment variable I need to set? If so, how, etc. Thanks so much for the help. I've tried a completely different library (GMP) and had the EXACT same problem. This has got to be some kind of Ubuntu environment issue? Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

• Error when connecting to shared Windows Printers

  I'm replacing our Windows 2003 print server with one running on Windows 2008 R2. I have connected and configured all of our printers and can successfully print to them from the server itself. All of the printers are shared and user's have permission to print on all of them. Whenever one of our clients attempts to connect through the shares they receive the following error message: Operation could not be completed (error 0x0000709). Double check the printer name and make sure that the printer is connected to the network. No messages are generated on the client Event Log nor is anything generated on the server. I have reinstalled the drivers as suggested by a few forum posts I came across and it didn't solve the issue. There are twelve different printer drivers and they are all experiencing this issue so I believe it is unrelated to the driver. I have disabled UAC on both the client and server since that has caused so many headaches before, but it too did not solve this problem. Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

  I've deployed an ASP.NET 3.5 app to a 64bit Windows 2003 R2 server. In the web.config I have the following <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="/404/"> <error statusCode="404" redirect="/404/"/> <error statusCode="500" redirect="/500/"/> </customErrors> In the website properties in IIS Manager I have set the 404 and 500 errors to Type = "URL" and the same URLs as in the web.config. I have a wildcard application map to the .NET 2.0 aspnet_isapi.dll with "Verify file exists" turned off. If I try to hit a fake .aspx file I successfully get sent to the 404 page. I belive this is because there is an explicit mapping for .aspx to the .NET DLL. If I try to access a fake directory I simply recieve a plain text response saying: The system cannot find the file specified. It would appear that these requests for directories are not being routed through the .NET pipeline, which is what I would expect (and need) to happen becuase of the wildcard application mapping. Any ideas?

The directive auth-user-pass-verify /etc/openvpn/auth.pl via-env points to a script which is executed to perform the authentication. A false authentication should result in a exit 1 while a true one should result with exit 0. • Apache2 random 403 error & info server busy logs on Ubuntu

  Hello, I have a strange situation with apache2. Meanless, random 403 errors. Any page (html, php etc.) normally working. but if i request repeatedly by pressing refresh button of browser. it interrupts & sends a 403 randomly. after a few seconds it works again. in the error log, i see client denied by server configuration. main error log of apache says [info] server seems busy, (you may need to increase StartServers, or Min/MaxSpareServers), spawning 8 children, there are 99 idle, and 137 total children my current values IfModule mpm_prefork_module StartServers 120 MinSpareServers 100 MaxSpareServers 200 MaxClients 256 MaxRequestsPerChild 500 /IfModule i've increased 10 by 10. from 20. but nothing solved. i've disabled KeepAlive. • cannot connect to vpn server (error 721)

  I got 2 internet connections in my computer. One is using 3.5G HSDPA modem (vodafone huawei e220) and the other using mobile phone (cdma zte c261). Both are using different ISP and i have both. at the moment, i can connect to my office vpn using the HSDPA modem one. But when i tried to use cdma modem (dial up - mobile phone modem), i am just able to get "verifying username and password" and then after a few minutes it display error : Error 721 The Remote Computer didn't respond. I tried to ping into my office ip address, it got good result but still cannot connect to the vpn. I tried to turn off all my firewall (i'm using commodo) and has no response as well. In my cdma mobile phone modem Network connections I tried to allow iNternet connection sharing as well ... and turn on all Internet Protocol TCP/IP, File & Printer Sharing & Client for microsoft networks. But all of my effort has no effect. How to fix this problem ? note: my office using windows vpn as well. thank you .

  I am having very often internet disconnection problem with Squid proxy service. My server config; OS: CentOS release 6.3 (Final) model name : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz cpu MHz : 1600.000 My Local systems IP range:192.168.2.x Server IP: 192.168.2.11 Also this server is configured with lamp for development,Samba SMB file service manager and No svn currently. So i see maximum possibility is this squid proxy since this is where it stops to connect and am sure when i restart the server net started working so something wrong with this squid service only. And this server is connected with local 14 other windows machines and basically serves as a central development node. I am able to resolve it by restarting the server fully some time or sometimes by restarting the squid proxy which is totally killing our development.   I have a server with CentOS 4.8 installed. The provided is rubbish, but there's only a few months left, and they're busy being sued by Chase bank, so I doubt I can get CentOS 5. I wiped the server clean using Virtuozzo, and found that the default image is VERY empty. I even had to install yum myself. I've reached the point where I want to install TomCat. I downloaded the Sun JRE as a .rpm.bin file, did chmod a+x and ran it. • .NET 3.5 installation comes up with Error 0x800F0906, then 0x800F0081F using dism

  I've recently tried installing .NET 3.5 for an application on Windows 8.1. I used the OS's popup thing to download/install .NET 3.5 and always get error code 0x800F0906. Upon further research, I found I would have to pop in my Windows 8 CD and install it with this command, where "E:\" is where my CD is mounted: Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:E:\sources\sxs /LimitAccess This and any derivative of it (e.g., removing /LimitAccess) has not worked for me and has either given me the same error code (0x800F0906) or a different one, 0x800F0081F. I've even copied the sxs folder to my hard drive, just in case something was going on with the CD Drive, only to have the same results. In that case, I used this command line: Dism /online /enable-feature /featurename:NetFx3 /All /Source:C:\dotnet35 /LimitAccess I find this surreal because in both cases, the files are indeed there but the program thinks it's not. Here's the CBS.log file. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help is very appreciated :) EDIT: I now have a proper dism.log file, I'm not sure what happened to the last one or why it did that. Here's the link to the new log file. It's interesting to note that it doesn't recognize some of the commands in the script such as "featurename" or "source".
