• Windows Explorer - How can an large file have a zero "Size on disk" value? What does it mean

  I would expect some discrepancy between "Size" and "Size on disk" in Windows Explorer due to file system allocations etc. Below is a screenshot of an example file on a Windows 2012 R2 file server that has a 81.4 MB "Size" but for the "Size on disk" it's 0 bytes. What gives? I have other files doing the same, but yet another set of files and folders behaving as expected showing the size on disk relatively close to the actual file size. The volume is a basic disk, formatted with NTFS and the default 4K allocation units. No compression is set for any file or folder on the volume. (For those more paranoid, I did a malware scan, and also confirmed there is not ADS streams associated with the file in question). The user account running Windows Explorer is the domain administrator, and the file owner is also the domain administrator. Thanks for reading!

  Let's say I have a simple ASP.NET MVC site with two views. The views use the following routes: /Foo and /Foo/Bar. Now let's say I want to use the URL to specify (just for the sake of example) the background color of the site. I want my routes to be, for instance, /Blue/Foo or /Green/Foo/Bar. Also, if I call Html.ActionLink from a view, I want the Blue or Green value to propagate. So, e.g., if I call Html.ActionLink("Bar", "Foo") from /Blue/Foo, I want /Blue/Foo/Bar to come back. How best can I do this? (Forgive me if I'm missing an existing post. This is hard for me to articulate concisely, so I'm not quite sure what to search for.)

  Hi, I am planning to write a generic python module for installing a package. This script should retrieve the module from a remote machine or locally and install it on a given host and user. However, there needs to be changes made to the package files based on the host, user and given environment. My approach is to use XML to describe changes to be made to package files based on environment. It will first extract the package to the user directory and then using an xml configuration file, it should replace the file values in the package directory. • Can Camel Jetty proxy URL share the webapplication context

  I am struggling with Camel Jetty Proxy Routes. At times, the routes exhibits inconsistent behavior. My Proxy app deployed with context root "Proxy", however, if give that as the context path for my proxy URL I get service not found error. If change the Proxy to an arbitrary context such as "Dummy" then the route works. Is that how camel jetty component works? From Path: jetty:http://0.0.0.0:6080/Proxy/PurchaseOrder/?matchOnUriPrefix=true&disableStreamCache=true&traceEnabled=true To Path: jetty:http://localhost:7001/Provider/PurchaseOrder/?bridgeEndpoint=true&throwExceptionOnFailure=false Another issue i noticed with jetty is If deploy both Proxy and Provider on the same app container(same listening port), then the route completely stops working saying "Provider/PurchaseOrder/" service not found. The only way the routes work is, both routes have to run different ports and the from route shouldn't share the webcontext path.   I have got a simple page with a HtmlInputHidden field. I use Javascript to update that value and, when posting back the page, I want to read the value of that HtmlInputHidden field. The Value property of that HtmlInputHidden field is on postback the default value (the value it had when the page was created, not the value reflected through the Javascript). I also tried to Register the HtmlInputHidden field with ScriptManager.RegisterHiddenField(Page, "MyHtmlImputHiddenField", "initialvalue") but it still only lets me read the 'initialvalue' even though I (through javascript) can inspect that the value has changed. I tried to hardcoded the rowid and, to my surprise, after postback gridview was exactly the same before the delete but the record was deleted from the database.   I was playing with progress bar customization in Silverlight application. What I want to reach is to have progress bar label to show current its state in the following format: "Value / Maximum". So, user will see what is the current value, and what is the maximum possible value. I was also trying to set DataContext as {RelativeSource Self}, but then it didn't displays error that DataContext attribute is not found. How to make the described progress bar label properly?

  How can I convert a length into a value in the range -1.0 to 1.0? Example: my stage is 440px in length and accepts mouse events. I would like to click in the middle of the stage, and rather than an output of X = 220, I'd like it to be X = 0. Similarly, I'd like the real X = 0 to become X = -1.0 and the real X = 440 to become X = 1.0. I don't have access to the stage, so i can't simply center-register it, which would make this process a lot easier. Also, it's not possible to dynamically change the actual size of my stage, so I'm looking for a formula that will translate the mouse's real X coordinate of the stage to evenly fit within a range from -1 to 1.

• Modifying value of "Rating" column within Explorer for arbitrary file types.

  Basically, I have a large body of assorted media (text, images, flash files, archives, folders, etc...) and I'm attempting to organize it. Windows Explorer has a rating column, but there seems to be no way to modify the rating of the files short of opening them in their type-specific software (e.g. Media player, or Photo viewer). However, this does not work when the file is of an unsupported type (.rar, .swf ...), or a directory. I'd be more than willing to consider a file-manager replacement (I've alreadly looked at quite a few, Directory Opus, Total Commander, etc...), or even a solution that stores the rating metadata in a hidden file in each folder, or a separate database. The one real critical requirement is the ability to sort by rating, and being filetype-agnostic. Basically, is there any way to categorize a large collection of assorted files by rating that will work with any file type, including directories? - Ideally, there would be an easy way to add arbitrary columns to windows explorer, and edit them directly. However, there seems to be no way to do this. The rating column is the next best thing.

  Why does this fail, it's supposed to be simple and work ? fisier.seekg(0, ios::end); long lungime = fisier.tellg(); This returns a larger value than that of the file resulting in a wrong char *continut = new char[lungime]; Any idea what the problem could be ? I also tried counting to the end of the file one char at a time, that rendered the same result, a higher number than expected. But upon using getline() to read one line at a time, it works, there are no extra spaces... Thank you

How could I get around this, because the first query violates the unique key rule and terminates? Or will I have to get rid of the unique key rule I have? Thanks!

  I have the following class structure for custom UITableViewCells: NumericEntryCell - Contains method for controlling max value that can be entered into a textbox. SliderCell - inherits from NEC and contains methods for handling slider-control of textbox value TextOnlyCell - just contains a textbox CellA - inherits from SliderCell and has a max value of 28 CellB - inherits from TextOnlyCell and has a max value of 150. I want NumericEntryCell to contain a definition for a property that contains the maxValue. I want to be able to set a value for this in the initialize method of a child class (CellA or CellB). Currently I have an int maxValue declared in the interface of NEC. I declare a property for this with @property int maxValue and @synthesize it within the .m file. However, attempting to modify this property's value from CellA or CellB's initialize method has no effect - when I hit a breakpoint in the NEC method that uses this value, its value is always zero. How can I get this to work?

  While trying to do something similar to what's in the ActiveState recipe titled Constants in Python by Alex Martelli, I ran into an unexpected side-effect that assigning a class instance to an entry in sys.modules apparently has in Python 2.7 -- namely that doing so apparent changes the value of __name__ to None as illustrated in the following code fragment: class _test(object): pass import sys print '__name__: %r' % __name__ # __name__: '__main__' sys.modules[__name__] = _test() print '__name__: %r' % __name__ # __name__: None if __name__ == '__main__': # never executes... import test print "done" I'd like to understand why this is happening. I don't believe it was that way in Python 2.6 and earlier versions since I have some older code where apparently the if __name__ == '__main__': conditional worked as expected following the assignment (but no longer does). FWIW, I also noticed that the name _class is getting rebound from a class object to None, too, after the assignment. Also seems odd to me that they're being rebound to 'None' rather than disappearing altogether... Update: I'd like to add that any workarounds for achieving the effect of if __name__ == '__main__':, given what happens would be greatly appreciated. TIA!
