• Forwarding keypresses in GTK

  I'm writing a bit of code for a Gedit plugin. I'm using Python and the interface (obviously) is GTK. So, the issue I'm having is quite simple: I have a search box (a gtk.Entry) and right below I have a results box (a gtk.TreeView). Right after you type something in the search box you are presented a bunch of results, and I would like the user to be able to press the Up/Down keys to select one, Enter to choose it, and be done. Thing is, I can't seem to find a way to forward the Up/Down keypress to the TreeView. Currently I have this piece of code: def __onSearchKeyPress(self, widget, event): """ Forward up and down keys to the tree. • jquery events on input submit fields

  I have a problem with jquery submit button onclick and default event. What I want to do is replace an click event on submit button if it has one, and get an dialog box to show up, on clicking yes the dialog should start that default onclick event if submit button has one defined, if it hasn't than the default event should happen (button submits form), .submit() function does not work for me in any case cause I need to send this button also through a form and if button wasn't clicked .submit() sends form data without submit data.   Hi everyone, I am currently working with Hibernate Envers. My problem is the following : How to delete entries in the audit table related to the entity I want to delete? My entity has no relation with other entities.   i have 1 dedicated server with Nginx proxy for Apache. Memcache, mysql, 4G Ram. These day, my visitor on my site wasn't increased, but my server get overload always in some specified time. (9AM - 15PM) Ram in use is increased second by second to full. that's moment, my server will get overload. i have to kill all apache , mysql service and reboot it to get free memory. and it'll full again. that's the terrible circle. here is my ram in use at the moment 160(nginx) 220(apache) 512(memcache) 924(mysql) here's process number 4(nginx) 14(apache) 5(memcache) 20(mysql) and here's my my.cnf config. someone can help me to optimize it?   I've been looking for a tutorial and answer to this for a while but can't find what I'm looking for. I am loading html text into a dynamic textfield, and I have a scrollbar controlling the scroll using the code below. What I want to do is also add scroll up/down buttons and have the scroll bar move in relation to the text scroll. I was just going to use "tracklistingtext.scrollV -- " for the scroll buttons, but right now the scroll bar doesn't recognize the text movement.   I have a Model Campaign. A Campaign has many Events. Each Event has an attribute :days. A Campaign also has_many Contacts. Each Contact as a :date_entered attribute. The from_today(contact,event) method returns a number, which is the number of days from the contact's :date_entered till today minus the event's :days. In other words, a positive number shows the number of days from today till the :days of the event is elapsed. If it is negative, if means that the number of days that has elapsed since the :date_entered is greater than the :days attribute of an event. In other words, the event is overdue. What I would like to be able to do is do campaign.overdue and this would result in a total number of contacts that have an overdue event. It shouldn't count multiple events for a single contact, just one contact. How do I do that? It seems like I would need to cycle through all the events for every contact and keep a counter but I'm assuming that there is a better way.

  I've noticed an problem when trying to catch keyboard shortcut: CTRL+an arrow. I've handled keydown event. Now when I hold CTRL key then keydown event is fired once. If I hold an arrow (so that now I'm holding CTRL+an arrow) it doesn't fire another event. Is it forbidden from any reason? I guess I've already encountered this problem in Opera a few years ago and there was an option for it in browser. My results: holding CTRL, press an arrow -- fires event for CTRL and doesn't fire an event for an arrow press CTRL + an arrow at once -- fires one event but only with keycode of CTRL. holding CTRL, press a letter (eg. S) -- works as expected press CTRL + letter (eg. S) -- works as expected (Results are identical in Chrome and Firefox. Is the behaviour described above a standard?)   I can't seem to figure out the syntax for finding structs in containers. I have a multiset of Event structs. I'm trying to find one of these structs by searching on its key. • Issue changing innodb_log_file_size

  I haven't done much tweaking in the past so this might be relatively easy however I am running into issues. This is what I do: Stop MySQL Edit my.cnf (changing innodb_log_file_size) Remove ib_logfile0/1 Start MySQL Starts fine however all InnoDB tables have the .frm file is invalid error, the status shows InnoDB engine is disabled so I obviously go back, remove the change and everything works again. I was able to change every other variable I've tried but I can't seem to find out why InnoDB fails to start even after removing the log files. Am I missing something? Thanks. • Dynamic content in a Gridview

  I have a gridview with couple of columns,I want to achieve the following: If user is NOT authorized display normal columns. If user IS authorized: set mouseover event for first column text and display some buttons (that are not available for NOT authorized users) in a second column when user hover over(using javascript) the first column. I am have 2 difficulties: The first one where and when should I create the buttons? I have 2 options, I can create those button on design time, in gridviews template and just set Visible value to false and then in codebehind set it to true if user is authorized. The second option would be creating this buttons dynamically in gridview_RowCreated event (or any other event) if user is authorized. The Second difficulty is setting the javascript event to show the buttons, the event should be added only if user is authorized! Note that event and buttons should have some kind of id match for Javascript function to know what should it hide/unhide when event is triggered. What should I do, what is the best practice? I know this is a long question, but please try to help :)

The program, works, it draws the circles upon user input but the update problem is the only issue i need to solve. Is there any possible way to have all elements in the list of objects being updated by the while loop? i have tried for many days and i have not been able to find a good solution. any ideas are appreciated. • How to ensure nginx serves a request from an external IP?

  I have a strange situation, where my nginx setup stopped handling external requests. I'm pretty stuck. If I hit the domain without a subdomain, I properly get redirected, however, if I request the full url, that fails and doesn't log anything, anywhere. I am able to curl localhost on the server itself, however when I attempt to curl from an external machine, it fails with: curl: (7) couldn't connect to host I've also noticed that bots can get through, I've seen Google hit the log every now and then.   I will use (again) the following class hierarchy: Event and all the following classes inherit from Event: SportEventType1 SportEventType2 SportEventType3 SportEventType4 I have originally designed the Event class like this: public abstract class Event { public abstract EventType EventType { get; } public DateTime Time { get; protected set; } protected Event(DateTime time) { Time = time; } } with EventType being defined as: public enum EventType { Sport1, Sport2, Sport3, Sport4 } The original idea would be that each SportEventTypeX class would set its correct EventType. Now that I think of it, I think this approach is totally incorrect for two reasons: If I want to later add a new SportEventType class I will have to modify the enum If I later decide to remove one SportEventType that I feel I won't use I'm also in big trouble with the enum. I have a class variable in the Event class that makes, afterall, assumptions about the kind of classes that will inherit from it, which kinda defeats the purpose of inheritance. How would you solve this kind of situation? Define in the Event class an abstract "Description" property, having each child class implement it? Having an Attribute(Annotation in Java!) set its Description variable instead? What would be the pros/cons of having a class variable instead of attribute/annotation in this case? Is there any other more elegant solution out there? Thanks

Solved The simple solution to my complicated problem was that I had placed the config.ru in wrong place moved it to /etc/puppet/rack , it was in /etc/puppet/rack/public Well!!! :-/

• How to prevent Android bluetooth RFCOMM connection from dying immediately after .connect()?

  I'm trying to connect to a Zeemote (http://zeemote.com/) gaming controller from Moto Droid running 2.0.1 firmware. The test application below does connect to the device (LED flashes) but connection is dropped immediately after that. I can connect to the device perfectly fine using bluez tools (log attached as well). • How to fix flicker when using Webkit transforms & transitions

  I have a very simple demo working that uses Webkit transforms and transitions for smooth horizontal scrolling between 'panels' (divs). The reason I want to go this route as opposed to a Javascript driven system is that it's for the iPad and Javascript performance is quite poor, but the css transforms and transitions are smooth as silk. Sadly though, I'm getting a lot of flicker on the iPad with my Demo. You can see the demo here You'll need safari or and iPad to see it in action. I've never seen this happening in any of the demos for transforms and transitions so I'm hopeful that this is fixable. Anyway here's the code that powers the thing.... • Re-opening closed dialog puts it in the start position after moving it

  I'm using multiple instances of the JQuery-UI dialog along with draggable and resizable. Whenever I drag or resize one of the dialog boxes, the position and dimensions of the current box are saved to a database and then loaded the next time the page opens. This is working well. However, when I close a dialog box and re-open it using a button, jQuery sets the position of the box back to its original location in the center of the screen. Furthermore, I use a show effect to slide the box off to the left on closing and in from the left on re-opening. I found two ways to update its position when the slide in animation is done, however, it still slides into the center of the screen, and I have yet to find a way to get it to slide in towards the location it is supposed to have. It took me days to make it this far, but this is one obstacle I have yet to overcome. Maybe there's a different way I can re-open the box? Thanks! EDIT: Forgot - this issue ONLY happens when I use my UpdatePos function to set the location of a box (i.e. on page load). When I drag a box with my mouse, close it, and re-open it, everything works. So I'm guessing there's one more storage location for the box' position that I'm missing here... The position() results for $box.position() or $box.dialog().position() do not change during this debugging section. Maybe this will help someone here - I'm still out of ideas here... ... and I just discovered that when I drag the item around myself, then close and re-open it, it is very unpredictable. Sometimes, it will end up in the correct location horizontally, but not vertically. Sometimes, it will end up back in the center of the screen...

• Strange permission errors in new PostgreSQL installation

  A freshly installed PostgreSQL (with configuration overwritten) won't start: $ sudo service postgresql start * Starting PostgreSQL 9.1 database server * Error: could not read /etc/postgresql/9.1/main/postgresql.conf: Permission denied Looks like it should be able to read it though: $ ls -l postgresql.conf -rw------- 1 postgres postgres 19450 2012-06-14 10:07 postgresql.conf But fine, I'll add chmod +r it to test if that works. $ sudo chmod +r postgresql.conf $ sudo service postgresql start * Starting PostgreSQL 9.1 database server * The PostgreSQL server failed to start. Please check the log output: Error: Could not open log file /var/log/postgresql/postgresql-9.1-main.log Huh? $ ls -l /var/log/postgresql/ total 4 -rw-r----- 1 postgres adm 827 2012-06-14 10:07 postgresql-9.1-main.log I don't get it. What can be wrong here? This used to work before. Can I maybe monitor what process attempts to open the file? It's Ubuntu 11.10 on EC2, using Chef.
