• jquery cycle plugin using RSS feed images?

  This could well be a terribly ignorant question, if so please forgive me: I'm using jquery cycle plugin to create an image rotator of recently posted images. Im using drupal 6.x and created an RSS feed of the recent images using the views module. I have no idea how to connect the two. Any suggestions? I have a feeling an RSS feed might not be the best way to go about this, but it's all I could come up with. Thanks for the help.

  Hello all, I'm trying to use youtube's api to bring back a listing of a user's videos. The request url looks something like: http://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/api/users/username/uploads with 'username' being the correct username. This bring back the appropriate url in the browser. • JQuery - is at least one checkbox checked

  I am in the process of learning JQuery thanks mostly to the positive reference here on Stack Overflow. I need a function that checks all the checkboxes in an element which have the same CSS class. It should returns true if at least one of them is checked. There are also other boxes in the element that are irrelevant to the check. The CSS class is unnecessary and only in place to create a way to identify the checkboxes in the group. It feels like bad practice, so any recommendations about other ways to identify them are welcome.

  OK, for the life of me I can't uderstand why the follwing code is always returning false??   Hi all, I am sorry that I have asked two questions in a few minutes. In a html file, I got three child DIV tags in a parent DIV tag: <div id="container"> <div id="frag-123">123</div> <div id="frag-124">124</div> <div id="frag-125">125</div> </div> Now when I click either the three child DIV tags, I will see two alert boxes pop up instead of one: The first alert box will show something like this: frag-123, and the second alert box will show something like this: container I dont know why.   I have a set of checkboxes with multiple choice allowed. However, the Python script just bugs. If i change dataTrap.route_days value to a string instead of the JSON encoded object, everything works fine. My question is: how can i pass a checkbox set to the script using Ajax and still be able to iterate over it on the script?

• jQuery get value from checked element with a given name

  I've got an input like so: I'd like to use jQuery to grab that element, and add the function call foo() to the change event. Currently I can get it done, but there are two hacks involved. My (working) code: $(":input[name*=myfield]").change( function( $(":input[name*=myfield]") ) { foo(); }); )}; There are two hacks in there I'd like to eliminate. Keeping in mind that the input names are multidimensional arrays, how can I use the :input[name=somename], versus [name*=someone]? I'd imagine it's faster using an exact name rather than *=, but I can't get the escape sequence correct for the brackets on the multidimensional arrays. Can I chain the call together so that I don't have to select the element twice? Is the standard practice for that to select the HTML element into a var, then use that var? Or can I chain it together? Thanks for the help. Still working on getting my footing in JS/JQ.

  In php, I have used preg_match_all() to find keywords (using the format %keyword%) in a string, which works wonderfully and returns an array of all found keywords. What I would like to do, is do the same thing using jQuery or javascript. I have tried using the filter() function, and it kind of works. But I think I am missing something. How can I find ALL instances of the keyword in a string, using a regex?   Hi, I've got some HTML that looks like this. <li class="t-item t-first"> <div class="t-top"> <span class="t-icon t-plus"></span> <span class="t-in">Offshore</span> </div> <input type="hidden" value="41393" name="itemValue" class="t-input"> </li> The HTML is a single item from a treeview created by Telerik. The real data here is that "Offshore" has an id of "41393". From the Telerik code I get the span-element with class"t-in", but I'm unable to get the ID-value from it. How can I use jQuery to find the value of the hidden input type?

• Fade out text value inside of text field using jQuery

  I am not entirely sure if this is possible or not, I am pretty knowledgeable when it comes to jQuery and JavaScript in general, but this one has me stumped. I've created a simple plugin that clears a text input on focus and then displays the default value if nothing has been entered. Is it possible to fade out just the text itself inside of the text input, and not the whole field itself? All attempts seem to result in the text field itself fading out and eventually hiding the element from view. I did come up with a solution of using spans containing the default value and absolutely positioning them over the text input, hiding and showing them depending if a user has entered any text or not. I would much rather a much straightforward approach if one exists.

• IE7 not digesting JSON: "parse error"

  While trying to GET a JSON, my callback function is NOT firing. $.ajax({ type:"GET", dataType:'json', url: myLocalURL, data: myData, success: function(returned_data){alert('success');} }); The strangest part of this is that my JSON(s) validates on JSONlint this ONLY fails on IE7...it works in Safari, Chrome, and all versions of Firefox. If I use 'error', then it reports "parseError"...even though it validates! Is there anything that I'm missing? Does IE7 not process certain characters, data structures (my data doesn't have anything non-alphanumeric, but it DOES have nested JSONs)? I have used tons of other AJAX calls that all work (even in IE7), but with the exception of THIS call. An example data return here is: {"question":{ "question_id":"19", "question_text":"testing", "other_crap":"none" }, "timestamp":{ "response":"answer", "response_text":"the text here" } } I am completely at a loss. Hopefully someone has some insight into what's going on...thank you!
