• Fresh install of nginx causes browser to download index.html instead of opening it

  When I view this in Chrome, http://localhost:90 the file is downloaded instead of displayed in Chrome. This question has been asked a lot of times on SO, but about index.php files. My problem is a plain jane HTML file, not a PHP file. That hasn't been asked yet. I was hoping the solution would be similar, but I haven't been able to figure it out. Here's my example.com.conf: server { server_name localhost; listen 90; root /var/www/example.com/html index index.html location / { try_file $uri $uri/ =404; } } My index.html file contains only two words, no markup Hello World I think it's the mime.types. The mime.types file has the entry for html in it. This is a fresh nginx install. nginx -t reports "test is successful"

  Hi I don't know if here is the right place to ask this question or not but its vital for me to solve it. I run open suse 10.2 on a vmware and my operating system is vista. yesterday I run my vmware and another program but both couldn't run and I end both tasks to solve it but now I can open vmware without any problem and run another os but not my open suse. the error is: Cannot open the disk 'C:\Users\hamide\Documents\Virtual Machines\SUSE Linux 2\SUSE Linux 2-000003.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. Reason: Failed to lock the file. please help me I don't have any recent back up and It takes too long to do all my project again.:( Bests

• Importer or converter for ClarisWorks cwk format?

  I have several ClarisWorks documents (*.CWK) that I'd like to import into a more modern format like Microsoft Word or Open Office. It seems Star Office can apparently open cwk files, but the product is discontinued and cannot be downloaded any more. There has been a feature request to add a cwk importer to OpenOffice since 2002, so I doubt that OpenOffice will support cwk files any time soon. Are there any utilities that can open a cwk file besides ClarisWorks itself?

• Google Chrome not using local cache

  Hi. I've been using Google Chrome as a substitute for Firefox not being able to handle having lots of tabs open at the same time. Unfortunately, it looks like Chrome is having the same problem. Freakin useless. I had to end Chrome as my whole system had slowed to a crawl. When I restarted it, I opted to restore the tabs that were last open. At this stage, every one of the 20+ tabs srated downloading the pages they had previously had open. My question is: why can't they open a locally stored/saved copy of the web page from cache? Does Google Chrome store pages in a cache? Also: after most of the pages had completed their downloading, I clicked on each tab to view the page. Half of them only display a white page, and I have to reload the page manually. What is causing this? Thanks for your help.

  Why does an ampersand in URL cause failure of the following command? I want to open a web page by running Safari in Terminal, placing the URL as an argument. This works as expected: open -a safari "http://endic.naver.com/search.nhn?sLn=en&searchOption=all&query=good" But once the quotes being removed, it wouldn't work as expected: open -a safari http://endic.naver.com/search.nhn?sLn=en&searchOption=all&query=good Instead, it returns: [3] 5395 [4] 5396 [1] Done open -a safari http://endic.naver.com/search.nhn?sLn=en [2] Done searchOption=all Seems like ampersand in the URL was treated as "running previous command in the background", though there is no space following the ampersand in the URL.

• Is there a way to "lock" the viewport in vim?

  I recently started using Vim with NERDTree. The annoying thing is when I close the buffer, NERDTree expands to fill the rest of the screen, and I have to open another file and reopen NERDTree to get it back to the old layout. Is there a way to "lock" NERDTree in place? Ideally, closing a buffer would replace it with another buffer that's hidden, or open a new blank buffer if no other buffers are open. Thanks!

  I'd like for Nginx to do the following: If the uri matches the pattern: http://mysite.com/$string/ and $string is not 'KB', and not 'images', look for $string.html in a specific subfolder. If $string.html exists in the subfolder, return it. If it does not exist, move on to the next matching location. $string = {any letters, numbers, or dash} For example, if the user requests: http://mysite.com/test/ It should look for a file called: /webroot/www/myfolder/test.html I've tried variations of: location ~ /[a-zA-Z0-9\-]+/ { try_files /myfolder/$uri.html @Nowhere; } But: It doesn't seem to find the file even when it does exist, and If it fails (which is always right now), it wants to jump to the @nowhere location, rather than moving on and trying to find another location that matches. I'd like for it to consider the current location "not a match" if the file doesn't exist.

• Send chrome tab from w7 laptop to w7 HTPC? (Like with iPad to AppleTV)

  For the last couple days I've been trying to figure out how to get open tabs syncing between chrome installs on different computers to no avail. (if it's supposed to work the way I think it should, that is.) I have a laptop that I do all my web browsing on. Once in a while I'll come across some video that's worthy of the big-screen and the surround sound and want to open that tab (or media) on the HTPC. It'd be nice if I could just 'Right click Send to HTPC' and it opens up there with no further hassle. But even opening chrome on the HTPC and finding all my current tabs waiting would be fine. Alas, open tabs syncing doesn't seem to actually open tabs on other devices for me. Has anyone come up with a way to accomplish anything similar? Thanks all!

• How Do I Get To Preferences In FireFox

  I'm currently trying to get to preferences in FireFox in Linux Ubuntu. Because I don't have 10 reputation, I can't post an image (otherwise I would). All I see in the browser is the Address Bar, Downloads and Home. If I right-click (or left click) on any of these, I don't have further options (other than Home, but it only allows me to add items to the toolbar, none of which are Preferences/Options/Etc). I tried vising a website to see if more options would open; nothing. I tried right clicking on the main page and each toolbar item (listed) to see if there was another options like "Preferences" or "Options"; nothing. I tried entering "Preferences" in the address bar, thinking maybe it would open automatically; nothing. I tried right clicking on FireFox on the Linux Menu to see if I could open options without opening the program (and tried this even when the program was open); nothing.

The locked folder should be displayed to user as password protected folder, when user try to open the folder, it should ask password. • SharePoint 2010 - Access denied during ApplyWebConfigModifications()

  I have SharePoint 2010 installed on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine which is also hosting SQL Sever 2008 R2. I am attempting to deploy a solution that includes web parts in the 2010 environment that is working fine in MOSS 2007. The Web Part feature has a feature receiver that updates the web.config. When I try to activate the feature through the Site Collection Feature GUI, I receive an access denied message. I am logged on to the server and in SharePoint with the APP Pool account which is also a member of the domain administrator group, local administrator group and SharePoint Farm Admin group. This account is also dbo on SQL Server. This same feature activates fine using the stsadm command. I have dug into this issue at length and here is what I have found: Looking at the Microsoft assemblies in reflector, my error is coming from the SPWebApplication.ApplyWebConfigModifications() method. I can see the trace statements from SPWebConfigFileChanges.RemoveModificationsWebConfigXMLDocument and SPWebConfigFileChanges.ApplyModificationsWebConfigXMLDocument. The next line is a Save(str).   So my problem is kinda weird, it only occurs when I test the application offline (on my PC with WampServer), the same code works 100% correctly online. What the hell? I'm using the latest version of WampServer (WampServer 2.0i [11/07/09]). Everything else works.   I would like to write some test/emulation code that emulates a serial port connection. The real code looks like this: DUT <- UART - testtool.exe My plan is to use create a test application (CodeUnderTest.out) on linux that forks to launch testool.out with two (read & write) named pipes as arguments. But I cannot figure out how to make all the pipe IO non-blocking! The setup would look like this:. CodeUnderTest.out <- named pipes - testTool.out (lauched from CodeUnderTest.out) I have tried opening the pipes as following: open(wpipe,O_WRONLY|O_NONBLOCK); open(rpipe,O_RDONLY|O_NONBLOCK); But the write blocks until the reader opens the wpipe. My second idea was to let flowplayer play a file, pass the key as query string and if the filename and key don't match then reject the connection but i can't seem to find out which file it's currently playing. The only remaining idea i have is: create a list of all files the user is allowed to open and set allowReadAccess or however it was called to allow those files, but that would be clumsy due to the current infrastructure. Now if I specify a dd images as the input it writes the image perfectly, but when I try to use a disk as the input it only writes 0x00.   I create a project that check the sub domain and redirect to the exist subdomain ( username ) but I can't find out why when the username is in database it can't show it . on local system it works finely .. but when I upload it on server it not works .. of course I change the commented place to uncomment for test .. but it's not working .. it shows this error : Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
