  • Switching to tabs to the right or left of the current tab in Notepad++

    How can I switch to the document to the left or right of the current document in Notepad++? For example, if I have documents A, B, and C open, and I'm currently editing B, I would like a shortcut to be able to switch to A (Alt-LeftArrow or Ctrl-Pageup) or C (Alt-RightArrow or Ctrl-PageDown). Is this possible? All I've found is a way to switch to next or previous documents based on the "history" of when the document was last opened (Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab), which are useful, but not what I want.

    I want to be able to access the sign bit of a number in C++. My current code looks something like this: int sign bit = number >> 31; That appears to work, giving me 0 for positive numbers and -1 for negative numbers. However, I don't see how I get -1 for negative numbers: if 12 is 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 1100 then -12 is 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 1111 0011 and shifting it 31 bits would make 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 0001 which is 1, not -1, so why do I get -1 when I shift it?

It works fine when using Firefox, heres an example: guest@shell:/$ sudo make me sandwich sudo command not recognized. guest@shell:/$ clear *clears* guest@shell:/$ clear But under google chrome this happen: guest@shell:/$ sudo make me sandwich sudo command not recognized. guest@shell:/$ clear clear command not recognized. I believe that it has something to do with "commands.hasOwnProperty(command)" that is preventing it from working properly. I am using JQuery the javascript library to build the website, and I need to know how to solve this problem, or an alternative.

    As of last night, I decided to start learning about WPF and have been reading through a number of online tutorials and books. This is a huge shift. One feature that has fascinated me is the implicit property value inheritance. I know in the WinForms world, if a control is not visible then neither are any of the child controls. Same seems to be true in the WPF world, as expected. I wondered if explicitly setting the child control's Visibility property would allow for an invisible parent and visible child and it did not. Is this something that would be possible in WPF? Can you have a container control that is hidden with visible children? This is more an exercise of curiosity than anything. I'm still trying to wrap my head around a lot of what I've been reading.

  • Approximate Number of CPU Cycles for Various Operations

    I am trying to find a reference for approximately how many CPU cycles various operations require. I don't need exact numbers (as this is going to vary between CPUs) but I'd like something relatively credible that gives ballpark figures that I could cite in discussion with friends. As an example, we all know that floating point division takes more CPU cycles than say doing a bitshift. I'd guess that the difference is that the division is around 100 cycles, where as a shift is 1 but I'm looking for something to cite to back that up. Can anyone recommend such a resource?

  • asp.net and Visual studio root directory question

    I am seeing something very odd and thought I would ask the Stackoverflow community if they knew the answer. I have an asp.net project that runs fine in one environment, but couldn't figure out what happened to the styles in another environment. In the first environment (Windows 2008 Server), the following link worked fine: <link href="/Styles/09/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> but in the other environment (it's a Windows 7), I had to change it to work: <link href="../Styles/09/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> Notice that the directories seemed to shift ahead one directory in the Win7, what's going on? It's like the "running" directory seems now be the \bin directory instead of the home! Which environment is configured correctly? How do I determine execution directory level? My concern going forward is pushing to a prod environment and guessing which configuration is correct. Any insight would be appreciated!

The only thing I store are in the form partial.. The problem I'm running into is that when a validation error gets thrown, the page renders the new action (expected) but none of the non-column attributes within the Account Detail form will show? Any ideas as to how I can change this code around a bit to make this work me?? This same solution may be the help I need for the edit form, I have a getter for the data which it asks the API for, but without place a :value = "asdf" within each text box, it doesn't populate the fields either..

    I have a mailing list application that sends emails through several dedicated SMTP servers (running Linux Debian 5 and Postfix) in the same network of a hosting company. However, the application is using the servers' external IP addresses in order to connect to them over SMTP, and I was wondering what kind of improvement would be obtained if the application used the internal IP addresses of the servers instead?     Hi, Since Ajax requests are limited for security reasons, there's not much to it, just follow the rules eh .. but I've crossed with this : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Same_origin_policy_for_JavaScript It's written that you can "bypass" those rules, in case you're working with subdomains of the same domain, with the following javascript line : document.domain = "company.com"; I haven't tried it yet, since I don't know if this only works (perfectly works) with any other browser, or at least the major ones.     I'm reading [Programming Perl][1], and I found this code snippet: sub new { my $invocant = shift; my $class = ref($invocant) || $invocant; my $self = { color => "bay", legs => 4, owner => undef, @_, # Override previous attributes }; return bless $self, $class; } With constructors like this one, what's the benefit of calling new on an object instance? I assume that it's what it's for, right? My guess is that if anyone would want to write such a constructor, he would have to add some more code that copies the attributes of the first object to the one about to be created.

  • How do you mentally handle going from writing managed to non-managed code?

    ~80% of the code I write is in C#. The other ~20% is in C++. Whenever I have to switch from C# to C++, it takes me quite a while to mentally "shift gears" to thinking in C++. I make simple mistakes using pointers and memory allocation that I would not have made when I was in university. Is this normal? Does anyone else experience something similar and if so, what do you do to cut down on the time this wastes?

The scripts almost works, except for not waiting long enough to receive an IP (it cycles to next step in the until loop too quick).
