• How do you do dynamic script evaluation in C#?

  What is the state of dynamic code evaluation in C#? For a very advanced feature of an app I'm working on, I'd like the users to be able to enter a line of C# code that should evaluate to a boolean. Something like: DateTime.Now.Hours > 12 && DateTime.Now.Hours < 14 I want to dynamically eval this string and capture the result as a boolean. I tried Microsoft.JScript.Eval.JScriptEvaluate, and this worked, but it's technically deprecated and it only works with Javascript (not ideal, but workable). Additionally, I'd like to be able to push objects into the script engine so that they can be used in the evaluation. Some resources I find mentioned dynamically compiling assemblies, but this is more overhead than I think I want to deal with. So, what is the state of dynamic script evaluation in C#? Is it possible, or am I out of luck?

  Hello, I've a php script that's started each minute from cron. It almost always runs without any problem, except for about 10 times within 24h. The times it fails I get a segmentation fault like: bin/sh: line 1: 21815 Segmentation fault /usr/bin/myscript The number after "line 1:" is always different. I'm running: PHP 5.2.6-1+lenny8 with Suhosin-Patch 0.9.6.2 (cli) (built: Mar 14 2010 08:14:04) Is this a problem with my version of PHP? Is there a way to debug this? I have the feeling it crashes when the server load is high, but there's absolutely no prove for this. Any feedback is welcome!

  Hello, I have a grep expression using cygwin grep on Win. grep -a "\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u" all_fbs.txt > rockon_fbs.txt Once I identify the emoticon class, however, I want to strip them out of the data. However, the same regexp above within a sed results in a syntax error (yes, I realize I could use /d instead of //g, but this doesn't make a difference, I still get the error.) sed "s/\(\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u\)*//g" The full line is: grep -a "\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u" all_fbs.txt | sed "s/\(\\,,/\|\\m/\|\\m/\\>\.</\\m/\|:u\)*//g" | sed "s/^/ROCKON\t/" > rockon_fbs.txt The result is: sed: -e expression #1, char 14: unknown option to `s' I know it's coming from the sed regexp I'm asking about it b/c if I remove that portion of the full line, then I get no error (but, of course, the emoticons are not filtered out).   I have two tables, "name" and "address". I would like to list the last_name and joined address.street_address of all last_name in table "name" that occur more than once in table "name". The two tables are joined on the column "name_id". The desired output would appear like so: 213 | smith | 123 bluebird | 14 | smith | 456 first ave | 718 | smith | 12 san antonia st. | 244 | jones | 78 third ave # 45 | 98 | jones | 18177 toronto place | Note that if the last_name "abernathy" appears only once in table "name", then "abernathy" should not be included in the result. This is what I came up with so far: SELECT name.name_id, name.last_name, address.street_address, count(*) FROM `name` JOIN `address` ON name.name_id = address.name_id GROUP BY `last_name` HAVING count(*) > 1 However, this produces only one row per last name. I'd like all the last names listed. I know I am missing something simple. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

  I'm adding repeating events to a Cocoa app I'm working on. I have repeat every day and week fine because I can define these mathematically (3600*24*7 = 1 week). I use the following code to modify the date: [NSDate dateWithTimeIntervalSinceNow:(3600*24*7*(weeks))] I know how many months have passed since the event was repeated but I can't figure out how to make an NSDate object that represents 1 month/3 months/6 months/9 months into the future. Ideally I want the user to say repeat monthly starting Oct. 14 and it will repeat the 14th of every month.

  I followed the Maven tutorial to the letter but I still can't get Maven installed. When I run the following in command prompt: E:\Documents and Settings\zach>mvn --version I get: 'mvn' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. I navigated to the maven install folder and ran mvn --version and got: E:\java resources\apache-maven-2.2.0\bin>mvn --version ERROR: JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory. JAVA_HOME = "E:\Sun\SDK\jdk\bin" Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the location of your Java installation but when I run java -version I get: java version "1.6.0_14" Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_14-b08) Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode) So I do have Java installed. Anyone know what the problem is?

  I am trying to build PyGTK on CentOS for a non-standard Python (2.6, vs the out-of-the-box 2.4). It requires that I first build pygobject. pygobject-2.18.0 fails at the configure step. The error messages is as follows: checking for GLIB - version >= 2.14.0... no *** Could not run GLIB test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GLIB is incorrectly installed. configure: error: maybe you want the pygobject-2-4 branch? I have downloaded, built and successfully installed glib. • BULK INSERT with inconsitant number of columns

  I am trying to load a large amount data in SQL server from a flat file using BULK INSERT. However, my file has varying number of column, for instance the first row contains 14 and the second contains 4. That is OK, I just want to make a table with the max number of columns and load the file into it with nulls for the missing columns. I can play with it from that point. But it seems that SQL Server when reaching the end of the line and having more columns to fill for that same row in the destination table, just moves on to the next line and attempts to put the data on that line to the wrong column of the table. Is there a way to get the behavior that I am looking for? Is there a table hint that I can use the specify this? Has anyone run into this before?   How can I make simple format-type customizations to ALL OOTB workflow related emails? I have found that many pre-Sharepoint 2010 posts indicated that OOTB workflow emails are in fact 'alerts', and therefore OOTB workflow emails could be customized using the same technique which is: making a customized version of alerttemplates.xml and even using IAlertNotifyHandler to intercept all alert emails. However, it seems that OOTB workflow and workflow task emails are not affected by changes to my customalerttemplates.xml file (which I do follow with stsadm updatealerttemplates, iisreset, and timer service restart).   I have SSRS 2008 setup on the database server. The server is part of the domain. Reporting Services is running under NetworkService. When I try to add a domain user using the web interface (Site Settings -- Security -- New Role Assignment), the page posts back but the user is not in the list.
