• Windows XP: GNU find.exe moved my files and now they're lost

  I used a series of GNU find.exe commands to move media files to the current folder. Explorer show that the folders and files still exist in their original location but properties show zero size and files. I performed a chkdisk and that didnt help. Any ideas how to recover these files? • iPhone vertical toggle switch

  I'm trying to create a vertical toggle switch control for the iPhone (along the lines of UISwitch but vertical sliding). I was wondering whether an existing control already existed or if there are any good tutorials that explain the basics of creating custom controls for the iPhone. Currently I've tried using affine transforms to create the vertical switch from a basic UIswitch, and it works except that the slider is too small compared to the slider track, thus I'm looking for information on writing custom controls. Any direction is much appreciated.

• WPF Global Resources in App.xaml

  I have created a custom Treeview control and am trying to access the HierarchicalDataTemplate resource of this control from another window in the same project. I have placed <ResourceDictionary Source="/Controls/TreeView/Themes/Generic.xaml"/> into my App.xaml file. Everytime I run, I get an error saying that it can not find the resource key "scene" - the name of the HierarchicalDataTemplate from my custom control. How can I access this template? Thanks

• How can I get VirtualBox Guest Additions installed in an Ubuntu 9.10 server?

  I have a freshly installed Ubuntu 9.10 server installed within a VirtualBox VM instance. From the VirtualBox menu bar, I selected Devices: Install Guest Additions... Then performed the following commands: > sudo apt-get install -y build-essential linux-headers-$(uname -r) > sudo mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/ > sudo /mnt/VBoxLinuxAdditions-amd64.run After some successful looking results, the following error is displayed: Installing the Window System drivers ...fail! (Could not find the X.Org or XFree86 Window System.) After restarting, I was looking forward to some UI integration with my host desktop (resize window, not needing to press right-Ctrl to escape the client window, and having copy and paste functionality. Is it possible to install the Guest Additions without the X Window overhead (I plan to only use for shell commands)? If additional packages are required, which ones?

• Font Anti-Aliasing on iPad SDK

  I'm using a custom pixel font on the iPad SDK, and I'm trying to find a way to disable font anti-aliasing for UIFont. Pixel fonts usually work best when they don't have Anti-aliasing. I disable it easily in Photoshop when I create static resources, but this time I need a dynamic output with the custom font. Any ideas? Thanks.

  Possible Duplicate: Ubuntu OpenLDAP and Mac OS X Roaming Profiles I've installed slapd on Ubuntu 12 after a long long day of trial and error. I've added the apple.ldif schema, and the samba.ldif schema, plus a test user. Last week, I had installed slapd on Ubuntu 11, and was able to authenticate against it from OS X Lion after finding the following blog post: Fixing OpenLDAP Authentication on OS X Lion This suggests running the following commands to fix the authentication problem /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "add ':module options:ldap:Denied SASL Methods:' string CRAM-MD5" /Library/Preferences/OpenDirectory/Configurations/LDAPv3/yourldapserver.plist /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "add ':module options:ldap:Denied SASL Methods:' string NTLM" /Library/Preferences/OpenDirectory/Configurations/LDAPv3/yourldapserver.plist /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "add ':module options:ldap:Denied SASL Methods:' string GSSAPI" /Library/Preferences/OpenDirectory/Configurations/LDAPv3/yourldapserver.plist However, I ran these commands on OS X Mountain Lion, and I am still unable to authenticate. I can't even use the Directory Editor app to examine the AD. I am however able to bind to the server via python-ldap's ldap.simple_bind_s('cn=admin,dc=foo,dc=net,'secret'). The error I am getting when trying to use Director Editor is Error Code (5000)

• Fedora12, XP and connection sharing via iptables

  Just a quick question ( I Hope ) To find out if what I'm trying is even possible. I am trying to share internet connection with Fedora12 as default gateway and XP machine hooked up via NIC using iptables commands as shown in Mark Sobell's book 'A Practical Guide To Fedora And Red Hat Enterprise Linux' These are the commands as placed in /etc/rc.local iptables -A FORWARD -i eth1 -o eth0 -m state --state ESTABLISHED,RELATED -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -i eth0 -o eth1 -j ACCEPT iptables -A FORWARD -j LOG iptables -t NAT -A POSTROUTING -o eth1 -j MASQUERADE I did flip the in and out parameters to match my NIC configuration ( as opposed to example from book ) but other than that followed example. One thing to note is that Sobell did not mention whether this should work with mix of Linux and XP. One other note ( maybe meaningless ) is that I do have samba working between the two machines.   New to django and trying to setup django-registration 0.8 with recaptcha-client. I followed the advice posted in the answer to this question. I used the custom form and custom backend from that post and the widget and field from this tutorial. My form is displaying properly with the recaptcha widget but when I submit it throws the error about the missing IP. What's the best way to pass the IP using django-registration?

• Prevent Apache from logging 404 Errors, logging all other errors

  I would like to disable 404 errors from appearing in my Apache error logs. The reason for this is that I have a custom page that handles 404 errors, performing any necessary redirects. If no valid redirect is found in this 404 page, then a nice page appears and the url and other information are logged by the script. Because of this, I do not need 404 errors in my Apache error log. Is there any way to just disable 404s short of doing a custom pipe?

• jQuery tools modal overlay display problem in IE6-8

  I'm trying to enable the overlay to be modal. It works perfectly fine in FireFox, but the window object is behind the mask when it becomes modal. This prevents any interaction with it and the page is actually useless. I've tried debugging this for a while and can't figure it out. • Is there a way to launch a command within a proper zsh shell ?

  I'm not really clear with my question here, let me rephrase it : I've setup a launch_workspace.sh to launch directly tmux with 5 different commands loaded. Here is my current content : #!/bin/sh tmux new-session -d -s scube -n 'vim' "vim" tmux new-window -t scube:2 -n 'server' "$SHELL -c 'script/rails server'" tmux new-window -t scube:3 -n 'yard' "$SHELL -c 'bundle exec yard server --gems'" tmux new-window -t scube:4 -n 'spork' "$SHELL -c 'bundle exec guard'" tmux new-window -t scube:5 -n 'autotest' "$SHELL -c 'bundle exec autotest'" tmux new-window -t scube:5 -n 'shell' "$SHELL" tmux select-window -t scube:1 tmux -2 attach-session -t scube Problem is : my zsh ($SHELL beeing zsh) launches said commands, but when I Ctrl+C any of these, it closes the full zsh (hence my tmux window) and not just return to a proper zsh prompt. Is there a way to have said behavior, to launch zsh with a command and return to a zsh prompt when the command fails ? Cheers

• Cron stopped working, partially working.

  Our cron script stopped working in different dates in August. What can be the possible reasons? We did not change anything. Our hosting showed us a log where we can see that cron is executing our scripts. But, nothing is happening in our scripts. If we manually execute the scripts, we're getting correct results like before. I showed the commands to hosting and they showed me that the commands are working. What should I tell my hosting? what should I do? They are php scripts which are executed by CRON and they just post to facebook and twitter. They don't execute any hard or huge things. I even asked my hosting if we broke any rules.

  I want to write a shell script which will attach to a named tmux session, select a window (or pane) in that session and run a command in that selected window (or pane). How do I do this from a bash script? I know tmux new-window -n:mywindow 'exec something' allows you to send commands to a freshly created window. But I need something like tmux select-window -t:0 'my command' I suppose I could use send-keys but seems like their should be something that takes a command or list of commands that get run.

• Optimizing UITableView

When scrolling the table on my iPhone the tables scrolling motion is slightly jerky, its not as smooth as other tableviews! • How to forward UDP Wake-on-Lan port to broadcast IP with IPTABLES?

  I'm trying to setup Wake-on-Lan for some of the LAN computers at home and it seems that I need to open a UDP port (7 or 9 being the most common) and forward all requests to the broadcast IP, which in my case is 192.168.1.255. The problem is that my router does not allow me to forward anything to the broadcast IP. I can connect to my router through telnet and it seems this router uses IPTABLES, but I don't know much about it or how to is. Can someone help me out with the proper iptables commands to do what I want? Also, in case it doesn't work, the commands to put everything back would be nice too. One last thing, rebooting the router will keep those manually added iptables entries or I would need to run them every time?

  I have a custom timer that extends android.os.CountDownTimer. I have a test in the test project (standard Android/Eclipse project config) that tests the custom Timer. When I try to run this test, I get a java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: android/os/CountDownTimer at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:698) You get the idea. Can I not run code that references android code code in junit test?
