• WPF Notify changes on object

  I have a gridview were I define some columns, like this... <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding MyProp}" /> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> I bind my gridview to a collection and implemts INotifyPropertyChanged in the property MyProp. This works well and any changes of MyProp are reflected to the gridview. If I add another column that is bound to the object itself I dont get any notifications/updates. My code... <GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding Converter={StaticResource myConverter}}"/> </DataTemplate> </GridViewColumn.CellTemplate> I think I need something like INotifyPropertyChanged for the object but I have no idea how to do this. Any suggestions?

• LIBPCAP and WIRESHARK Capture on PPP

  Hi, I have written a small bridge program using LIBPCAP API. I have installed Winpcap 3.1 Beta for support in order to capture from a PPP interface. What i do is, I capture from the PPP interface through my LIBPCAP program and send the traffic to another Ethernet interface in my computer. Then i connect this Ethernet Interface to another Ethernet Interface at another computer where i monitor it through Wireshark. So in short my PPP-Ethernet Bridge is on computer 1. And Another computer2 directly connected to computer1 on Ethernet monitors the incoming traffic from the bridge through wireshark. The problem i face is that when i capture PPP traffic through wireshark in computer1, i see reasonable delay between the packets. But when i use my LIBPCAP program to capture and relay traffic and check the traffic on computer 2 using Wireshark it gives jumps of 0.5seconds delay after some packets. This is quite unexplainable to me. I dont understand how wireshark PPP direct capture on computer 1 does not give delay and LIBPCAP program is giving delay. I have checked my bridge for Ethernet to Ethernet relaying and there is no delay like the one i am experiencing in case of PPP-Ethernet. a higher delay between packets is acceptable but such a BIG delay after a couple of packets is unacceptable. • Problem with using malloc in link lists (urgent ! help please)

  I've been working on this program for five months now. Its a real time application of a sensor network. I create several link lists during the life of the program and Im using malloc for creating a new node in the link. What happens is that the program suddenly stops or goes crazy and restarts. Im using AVR and the microcontroller is ATMEGA 1281. After a lot of debugging I figured out that that the malloc is causing the problem. I do not free the memory after exiting the function that creates a new link so Im guessing that this is eventually causing the heap memory to overflow or something like that. Now if I use the free() function to deallocate the memory at the end of the function using malloc, the program just gets stuck when the control reaches free(). Is this because the memory becomes too clustered after calling free() ? I also create reference tables for example if 'head' is a new link list and I create another list called current and make it equal to head. table *head; table *current = head; After the end of the function if I use free free(current); current = NULL: Then the program gets stuck here. I dont know what to do. What am I doing wrong? Is there a way to increase the size of the heap memory Please help...

  Hi :) I'm working in Unity3D, but my issue is with 3D meshes. I'm hoping someone here can help or point me in the right direction. I have 2 version of code, http://www.pasteit4me.com/695002 (old) and http://www.pasteit4me.com/690003 (new). The old code, makes a single mesh sphere and creates a terrain on it. The new code makes an 8 mesh sphere and creates a terrain on it. On the new version the edges of the meshes are obviously seen and I'm not sure why. It looks like the edges are adjusted no much, almost 2-3 times more than they should have been. GenerateB() in the old code and Generate() in the new code creates the sphere. MakeTerrain() in both create the terrain. If I dont run the MakeTerrain() function the new sphere looks like a solid mesh. I'm not sure where to start looking in the MakeTerrain() function in the new code to solve the issue :-/ Any ideas? • generating images with php based on css3 gradient settings?

  Hi, Does anyone know if there is a php library, or if there isnt, have any input on how one would go about generating an image via php, from basic HTML element input settings, and CSS 3 gradient parameters. To give an example on why this would be useful, I have found as of a couple days ago, that laying out the wireframe for a webpage using basic Css3 gradient styling speeds up my design and development time by, well, alot. I cant design from photoshop, Ill spend hours tweaking stupid little things that only lead to me tweaking more stupid little things to compensate for stupid little changes. -- So, I had an epiphany to stop using photoshop until the end, and just focus on the main styling of elements, text-shadow, and borders for highlights, and I feel I am able to make super clean, more focused layout by being more restricted to the basics of graphic design with just css. Anyways, so Im planning on after I have the layouts done, to then recreate the graphics in photoshop, so that every browser is able to render the images. This wont take long, but as far as repeating it goes, if I could just do it with PHP, that would be incredible. For instance, take this style for example, which renders a clean looking ipad/pod ish menu/button gradient. • How to reuse results with a schema for end of day stock-data

  I am creating a database schema to be used for technical analysis like top-volume gainers, top-price gainers etc.I have checked answers to questions here, like the design question. Having taken the hint from boe100 's answer there I have a schema modeled pretty much on it, thusly: Symbol - char 6 //primary Date - date //primary Open - decimal 18, 4 High - decimal 18, 4 Low - decimal 18, 4 Close - decimal 18, 4 Volume - int Right now this table containing End Of Day( EOD) data will be about 3 million rows for 3 years. Later when I get/need more data it could be 20 million rows. The front end will be asking requests like "give me the top price gainers on date X over Y days". That request is one of the simpler ones, and as such is not too costly, time wise, I assume. But a request like " give me top volume gainers for the last 10 days, with the previous 100 days acting as baseline", could prove 10-100 times costlier. The result of such a request would be a float which signifies how many times the volume as grown etc. One option I have is adding a column for each such result. And if the user asks for volume gain in 10 days over 20 days, that would require another table. The total such tables could easily cross 100, specially if I start using other results as tables, like MACD-10, MACD-100. each of which will require its own column. Is this a feasible solution? Another option being that I keep the result in cached html files and present them to the user. I dont have much experience in web-development, so to me it looks messy; but I could be wrong ( ofc!) . Is that a option too? Let me add that I am/will be using mod_perl to present the response to the user. With much of the work on mysql database being done using perl. I would like to have a response time of 1-2 seconds.

• Is there anyway to carry a value in php forward to a second page?

  I have created a php site, and previously it was listing only products with defined values. I have now changed it to include an array of products for example all products WHERE id = "spotlights" and this works great so it means I can add new products just to the database, but I still have to add the second page manually. e.g going from the product div on the main page, through to www.example.com/spotlight_1.php Is there anyway in PHP to carry the data from my index.php e.g. the ID through to the next page? so that I can have a template product.php page, and I can use a database pull to echo the product information required. So on index.php i click on the product with ID="1" and on the product.php page, it loads the relevant data for product 1. I can write the php SQL/mySQL calls myself, its just the way to carry accross a value from the previous page which I dont understand Regards Henry p.s. all the IDs and things are stored in the database already as 1 to 3digit values e.g. 3 or or 93 or 254 Any advice as always is greatly appreciated Regards Henry

  I have created a PHP script and I am lacking to extract the primary key, I have given flow below, please help me in how can i modify to get primary key I am using MySQL DB, working for Joomla, My requirement is tracking the activity like insert/update/delete on any table and store it in another audit table using triggers, i.e. I am doing Auditing. DB's table structure: Few tables dont have any PK nor auto increment key Flow of my script is : I fetch out all table from DB. I check whether the table have any trigger or not. If yes then it moves to check nfor next table and so on. If it does'nt find any trigger then it creates the triggers for the table, such that, -it first checks if the table has any primary key or not(for inserting in Tracking audit table for every change made) if it has the primary key then it uses it further in creation of trigger. if it doesnt find any PK then it proceeds further in creating the trigger without inserting any id in audit table Now here, My problem is I need the PK every time so that I can record the id of any particular table in which the insert/update/delete is performed, so that further i can use this audit track table to replicate in production DB.. Now as I haave mentioned earlier that I am not available with PK/auto-incremented in some table, then what should I do get the particular id in which change is done? please guide me...GEEKS!!!

  Hi I have been trying to understand DDD for few weeks now. Its very confusing. I dont understand how I organise my projects. I have lot of questions on UnitOfWork, Repository, Associations and the list goes on... Lets take a simple example. Album and Tracks. Album: AlbumId, Name, ListOf Tracks Tracks: TrackId, Name Question1: Should i expose Tracks as a IList/IEnumerabe property on Album ? If that how do i add an album ? OR should i expose a ReadOnlyCollection of Tracks and expose a AddTrack method? Question2: How do i load Tracks for Album [assuming lazy loading]? should the getter check for null and then use a repository to load the tracks if need be? Question3: How do we organise the assemblies. Like what does each assembly have? Model.dll - does it only have the domain entities? Where do the repositories go? Interfaces and implementations both. Can i define IAlbumRepository in Model.dll? Infrastructure.dll : what shold this have? Question4: Where is unit of work defined? How do repository and unit of work communicate? [ or should they ] for example. if i need to add multiple tracks to album, again should this be defined as AddTrack on Album OR should there a method in the repository? Regardless of where the method is, how do I implement unit of work here? Question5: Should the UI use Infrastructure..dll or should there be ServiceLayer? Do my quesitons make sense? Regards

• MySql too many connections

  I hate to bring up a question which is widely asked on the web, but I cant seem to solve it. I started a project a while back and after a month of testing, I hit a "Too many connections" error. I looked into it, and "Solved" it by increasing the max_connections. This then worked. Since then more and more people started to use it, and it hit again. When I am the only user on the site, i type "show processlist" and it comes up with about 50 connections which are still open (saying "Sleep" in the command). Now, I dont know enough to speculate why these are open, but in my code I tripple checked and every connection I open, I close. ie. public int getSiteIdFromName(String name, String company)throws DataAccessException,java.sql.SQLException{ Connection conn = this.getSession().connection(); Statement smt = conn.createStatement(); ResultSet rs=null; String query="SELECT id FROM site WHERE name='"+name+"' and company_id='"+company+"'"; rs=smt.executeQuery(query); rs.next(); int id=rs.getInt("id"); rs.close(); smt.close(); conn.close(); return id; } Every time I do something else on the site, another load of connections are opened and not closed. Is there something wrong with my code? and if not, what could be the problem?

• Php index page utitlizing an idea for a superswitch...

  I dont know if this is a great idea...or a crap one. But I was thinking I may use one page to display all my pages using includes. • question about MySQL database migration

  Hi there: If I have a MySQL database with several tables on a live server, now I would like to migrate this database to another server. Of course, the migration I mean here involves some database tables, for example: add some new columns to several tables, add some new tables etc.. Now, the only method I can think of is to use some php/python(two scripts I know) script, connect two databases, dump the data from the old database, and then write into the new database. However, this method is not efficient at all. For example: in old database, table A has 28 columns; in new database, table A has 29 columns, but the extra column will have default value 0 for all the old rows. My script still needs to dump the data row by row and insert each row into the new database. Is there any tools or a better method than writing a script yourself? Here, I dont need to worry about multithread writing problems etc.., I mean the old database will be down (not open to public usage etc.., only for upgrade ) for a while. Thanks!!

• How to communicate between frames?

  I'm maintaining an application that goes sort of like this: There is a Page A with a Frame that shows Page B. Now page B is part of a completely different product, so there's a frame in a that just calls B. Now, they want that when B an option in B is clicked, the WHOLE page is redirected to another page in A. The problem is that the url of A is something like "www.client.MyCompany/Order/Details/123" But B doesnt know nothing about A, or which order # it is or anything, but Page A who has the frame B does know it. For know my solution is to just redirect to all the order so something like client.MyCompany/Orders but since B doesn't know which client it is, I'll add it in the webconfig. (so each client has its own webconfig with a different value). I dont find this solution optimal but I can't think of anything else! I already tried putting the needed url in page A in a hidden Div (since A does know all the info) and then trying to read the whole DOM of the page from B to find it.... unfortunately I can only get access to Frame B's DOM... (I tried with jquery). I know frames are evil, but this is how it is written... any ideas? Thanks!

• Characters in usernames that cause trouble

  I am testing out security and reliability issues on my site. I have made \n and \r illegal. I created a user with null in the name which caused my PM system to not message the user. However \b worked and \t didnt allow copy/paste to work correctly. The browser (firefox which i am testing with) copied the tab as a single space causing the name not to be the same thus not recognizing the username. Since i cant copy paste easily i'll probably disallow it. \f works as well although i do see a symbol in the title but nowhere else because of the \f. What else should i try? It appears 0-31 127-159 (i dont understand this range) are illegal. What characters in legal range might i want to disallow? I heard there was a 0 width character space. That may be something i want to disallow? What else is there?

AND time = ? as you can see I dont use bindParams instead I pass the right values in the right order ($array) directly into the execute($array) method.   Hi, I have had recently two telephone interviews where I've been asked about the differences between an Interface and an Abstract class. I have explained every aspect of them I could think of, but it seems they are waiting for me to mention something specific, and I dont know what it is. From my experience I think the following is true, if i am missing a major point please let me know: Interface: Every single Method declared in an Interface will have to be implemented in the subclass. Only Events, Delegates, Properties (C#) and Methods can exist in a Interface. A class can implement multiple Interfaces. Abstract Class Only Abstract methods have to be implemented by the subclass. An Abstract class can have normal methods with implementations. Abstract class can also have class variables beside Events, Delegates, Properties and Methods. A class can only implement one abstract class only due non-existence of Multi-inheritance in C#. 1) After all that the interviewer came up with the question What if you had an Abstract class with only abstract methods, how would that be different from an interface? I didnt know the answer but I think its the inheritance as mentioned above right? 2) An another interviewer asked me what if you had a Public variable inside the interface, how would that be different than in Abstract Class? I insisted you can't have a public variable inside an interface. I didn't know what he wanted to hear but he wasn't satisfied either.   Base Knowledge : I have a .crt file ( certification authoritie file ) and he is composed of many fields but in one line that resumes this question i have this : Certificate: ...(alot of stuff before)... Subject: C=US, ST=Maryland, L=Pasadena, O=Brent Baccala, OU=FreeSoft, CN=www.freesoft.org/[email protected] Subject Public Key Info: ...(alot of stuff after) and i need to parse the file to populate a .csv file and i have that done the problem that i need help is, i need to get the field: CN=www.fresoft.org but when i get this kind of CN=...(Value instead of the ...) with alot of slashes i get a error in the parsing like the raw string is: CN=foo/bar/the/hell/emailAddress=blablabla and i need only: foo/bar/the/hell and for a moment i got that in the correct column but when i dont have the emailAddress something just fail in my parsing and i then get in my CN .csv column the information wrong instead of |CN| foo/bar/the/hell i get: |CN| OU=FreeSoft, foo/bar/the/hell.   I need to calculate a rotation vector out of the data i get from Sensor.TYPE_ORIENTATION. The sensor data is defined like this: the values have to be recalculated to become a correct 3d position: values[0]: Azimuth, angle between the magnetic north direction and the Y axis, around the Z axis (0 to 359). 0=North, 90=East, 180=South, 270=West values[1]: Pitch, rotation around X axis (-180 to 180), with positive values when the z-axis moves toward the y-axis. values[2]: Roll, rotation around Y axis (-90 to 90), with positive values when the x-axis moves away from the z-axis I need all three values like the Z axis value (from 0 to 360 degree). I tried a lot but cant figure out how to do this :/ i also tried to use Sensor.TYPE_ACCELEROMETER and Sensor.TYPE_MAGNETIC_FIELD to calculate this 3d vector on my own. here is the code: final float[] inR = new float[16]; // load inR matrix from current sensor data: SensorManager.getRotationMatrix(inR, null, gravityValues, geomagneticValues); float[] orientation = new float[3]; SensorManager.getOrientation(inR, orientation); mapMagAndAcclDataToVector(orientation); //here i do some *360 stuff orientetionChanged(orientation); //then the correct values are passed (in theorie) But this didn't work and i think it is much to complicated. So i bet there is a simple solution how to recalc the values of ensor.TYPE_ORIENTATION to make them a 3d rotation vector, but i just dont know how to do it. If you know the answer please tell me.

• Background problem on UITableView

  Hi ! I have come to a problem, wich I have no idea how to solve. Can anyone think outside the box and point me to right directions? I would be very thankfull ! The problem. I have a UITableView containing a first row wich is always the same (a empty row with repeating background) Next rows are bounch of dynamic data rows. I have set the yellow background on my UITableView in IBuilder, My cells (except first row) have white background with code: UIView* backgroundView = [ [ [ UIView alloc ] initWithFrame:CGRectZero ] autorelease ]; backgroundView.backgroundColor = [UIColor colorWithRed: 0.96078431372549 green: 0.96078431372549 blue: 0.96078431372549 alpha: 1.0]; cell.backgroundView = backgroundView; for ( UIView* view in cell.contentView.subviews ) { view.backgroundColor = [ UIColor clearColor ]; } The example yellow background, I only want to be showed at the top. As u see img example below. The thing is I dont want to have yellow background under the last datarow, I want to contain same white color I have on the cells. This should be white as the cells. • div stacking/layout with css or javascript

  so i have 4 divs (i actually have many more but this will simplify the question). i want to display them in two columns. the 4 divs vary in height. the number of actual divs in the end will vary. so if i have this <div id="1" style="height: 200px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="2" style="height: 600px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="3" style="height: 300px" class="inline">some content here</div> <div id="4" style="height: 200px" class="inline">some content here</div> with styling thus .inline { display: inline-block; vertical-align: top; width: 48%;} so #1 would go left and then #2 would shove up beside it to the right, great, but the #3 will not slide up the 400px to fit nicely below #1. (of course)... it goes on the left side but at 600px from the top clearing the bottom of #2. etc... how would i get the divs to slide up into the empty spaces, is it possible with css? jquery maybe? i know i could write column divs to mark it up, but since the number of divs constantly change and the heights vary according to content. It would be nice to just get rid of the space since we dont really care about the order. any thoughts?
