jquery files conflicts how to detect?

Q:i have a general problem ,,when i wanna to do some thing and i find the jquery file which can do exactly what i wanna to do .. after a while i need another case and i find that another jquery file serve me and fix my problem .. after i add set of jquery files i find conflicts among those files and some features does not work or work in awkward manner ..and when i try to find which file exactly the source for those problems i find myself in closed circle cannot modify this file or cannot delete this file or cannot find that file itself at all ..sometimes the file like this:: <script src="http://jqueryjs.googlecode.com/files/jquery-1.3.js" type="text/javascript"></script> cannot modify it.. the problem has many faces ,, and i cannot really know how to handle the whole matter from the beginning... can any one give me instructions ,, advices,, notes, or explanation to prevent the problem from the beginning and how to fix it if it was happened..

Dynamically loading JavaScript synchronously

I'm using the module pattern, one of the things I want to do is dynamically include an external JavaScript file, execute the file, and then use the functions/variables in the file in the return { } of my module. I can't figure out how to do this easily. Issues with taglibs while using jasmine-maven-plugin to test dojo widgets with templates

I am using jasmine-maven-plugin to run javascript unit tests for my dojo widgets. One of my dojo widgets refers to a html template jsp file with taglibs. When I initialize my dojo widgets, I get the following error: Error: Invalid template: <%@ taglib uri="http://www.springframework.org/security/tags" prefix="sec"% The plugin uses jetty to deploy the scripts to test. I tried including jstl jar into the WEB-INF folder but it doesn't work. I am assuming it's just not DOJO and this taglib issue can occur even with simple js file. I am looking for some clue on why taglibs are not recognized here. If I remove the taglib entries, my tests just work fine.

Dependency issue in inheritance chain

I have a class in coffeescript a class layout like the following. class @A foo: -> console.log('foo') class @B extends A fooB: -> @foo() class @C extends B fooC: -> @foo() I tried this in interpreters, it works. However it raises errors, when executing this in the browser (all of them are in separate coffee files, and are used in a global context. Therefore the @ before the class): Uncaught ReferenceError: B is not defined application.js It seems that B is defined after the definition of C. How can this happen?

I am coding an external Javascript slideshow file, which i want to load and display on my HTML/CSS webpage. How do i go about doing that? I understand that i need to load the .js file in the header of the HTML, but what do i call inside the body's DIV that will make the javascript file understand that i want it to load at that area? I'm extremely confused with working with Javascript here. If anyone has any helpful links to implementing a complete slideshow on a webpage it would be appreciated as well.

Removing DOM event handlers in long-running browser session

I have a browser interface with a ul#contacts list on the left and div#contact property panel (email, phone) on the right. Click a contact in the list and my app makes an XHR request to get the contact property HTML fragment and update div#contact.innerHTML. Each contact fragment has an "Edit Contact" link. With JS, I progressively upgrade that link with an event listener that performs an XHR request to replace the static property panel with an in-place edit form. This can happen many times during a single browser session. How should I clean up my "Edit Contact" event listener? Do I need to remove it manually before the form overwrites the property panel? Or is the event listener cleaned up automatically when the contents of div#contact (and the node that I'm listening on) is overwritten? FWIW, I still consider IE6 to be part of my target market.

Bind jQuery UI autocomplete using .live()

I've searched everywhere, but I can't seem to find any help... I have some textboxes that are created dynamically via JS, so I need to bind all of their classes to an autocomplete. As a result, I need to use the new .live() option. As an example, to bind all items with a class of .foo now and future created: $('.foo').live('click', function(){ alert('clicked'); }); It takes (and behaves) the same as .bind(). However, I want to bind an autocomplete... This doesn't work: $('.foo').live('autocomplete', function(event, ui){ source: 'url.php' // (surpressed other arguments) }); How can I use .live() to bind autocomplete? What is the easiest way to send a Javascript array via JSON to PHP?

I have a few arrays that I want to send to process with PHP. Using json2.js I will stringify the arrays like so: var JSONlinks = JSON.stringify(link_array); var JSONnotes = JSON.stringify(note_array); but then I'm confused. Do I need to use a XMLHttpRequest object? Is there another way? If that is the simplest way, could someone please just share the most basic instance of the code needed in order to send to PHP where I can then use JSON decode? I think it might help others in the future really. I'm currently using Jquery and I know there are many options out there for frameworks and each one may or may not make this process any easier. If you're using a framework in your reply please mention why you'd choose that framework rather than just javascript.

Can a Javascript bookmarklet overlay an image on a web page?

Can a bookmarklet be used to overlay an image on a web page? Not as a pop-up, but as a image positioned by CSS and with a high z-index to display on top of other elements. And without a mask i.e., Shadowbox or similar jQuery effect. Just an image from a URL and positioned in the bottom left hand corner of the browser window. What states does my route travel through?

I've got a page that has a map with a starting and ending location. I run a route between them to get the nifty line showing the route. I'm currently using Bing but have attempted with Google as well. I'd like to know which states this route passes through so I can then overlay those states with specific information. Any suggestions on how to obtain this would be most appreciated. I'm using the AJAX SDK's for both Bing and Google. Handling all the local stuff with js/jquery.

Convert Lat/Longs to X/Y Co-ordinates

I have the Lat/Long value of New York City, NY; 40.7560540,-73.9869510 and a flat image of the earth, 1000px × 446px. I would like to be able to convert, using Javascript, the Lat/Long to an X,Y coordinate where the point would reflect the location. So the X,Y coordinate form the Top-Left corner of the image would be; 289, 111 Things to note: don't worry about issues of what projection to use, make your own assumption or go with what you know might work X,Y can be form any corner of the image Bonus points for the same solution in PHP (but I really need the JS)

Taking web page screen shot in Windows 8 Metro app

I'm trying to take screen shot of web page in Windows 8 Metro app. So far the only helpful control is the WebView. Unfortunately it does not contain any method like DrawToBitmap (known from Forms WebBrowser control). Am I missing something? Different approach would focus on injecting some JS (e.g. html2canvas) to page rendered in WebView but I don't think it is possible due to security reasons. I would greatly appreciate any help.

How to improve Varnish performance?

We're experiencing a strange problem with our current Varnish configuration. 4x Web Servers (IIS 6.5 on Windows 2003 Server, each installed on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5450 @ 3.00GHz Quad Core, 4GB RAM) 3x Varnish Servers (varnish-3.0.3 revision 9e6a70f on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS - 64 bit/precise, Kernel Linux 3.2.0-29-generic, each installed on a Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5450 @ 3.00GHz Quad Core, 4GB RAM) The Varnish Servers performance are awfully bad in general, to the point that if we shut down one of them the other two are unable to fullfill all the requests and start to skip beats resulting in pending requests, timeouts, 404, etc. What can we do to improve our Varnish performance? Considering that we're getting less than 5k request per seconds during our max peak, we should be able to serve our pages even with a single one of them without any problem. new image makes http request even though cached?

I have a javascript slide show that creates the next slide dynamically and then moves it into view. Since the images are actually sprites, the src is transparent.png and the actual image is mapped via background:url(.. in css. Everytime (well, most of the time) the script creates a new Element, Firefox makes an http request for transparent.png. I have a far-future expires header, and Firefox is respecting all other files' expiries. Is there a way to avoid these unnecessary requests. Even though the server is returning 304 unmodified responses, it would be nice if Firefox would respect the expiries on dynamically created images. I suspect that if I injected a simple string instead of using new Element, this might solve the problem, but I use some methods on Prototypes extended Element object, so I would like to avoid a bunch of html strings in my js file. This is a nit-picky question, but I'm working on front-end optimization now, so I thought I would address it. Thanks.

But the issue is that i am not able to highlight the control which is required. I have a js function which sets the error class to the div. Its working fine when i click on a button. How do you determine up/down latency of a web app.

I am trying to work out how to calculate the latency of requests through a web-app (Javascript) to a .net webservice. Currently I am essentially trying to sync both client and server time, which when hitting the webservice I can look at the offset (which would accurately show the 'up' latency. The problem is - when you sync the time's, you have to factor in latency for that also. So currently I am timeing the sync request (round trip) and dividing by 2, in an attempt to get the 'up' latency...and then modify the sync accordingly. This works on the assumption that latency is symmetrical, which it isn't. Does anyone know a procedure that would be able to determine specifically the up/down latency of a JS http request to a .net service? If it needs to involve multiple handshakes thats fine, what ever is as accurate as possible. Thanks!!

Halting Django's dev server via page request?

I'm looking at writing a portable, light-weight Python app. As the "GUI toolkit" I'm most familiar with — by a wide margin! — is HTML/CSS/JS, I thought to use Django as a framework for the project, using its built-in "development server" (manage.py runserver). I've been banging on a proof-of-concept for a couple hours and the only real problem I've encountered so far is shutting down the server once the user has finished using the app. Ideally, I'd like there to be a link on the app's pages which shuts down the server and closes the page, but nothing I see in the Django docs suggests this is possible. Can this be done? For that matter, is this a reasonable approach for writing a small, portable GUI tool?

Closing the iframe which was opened for "ajax uploading"

Hello people, http://www.atwebresults.com/php_ajax_image_upload/ I am using this script for so-called AJAX file upload but which is actually based on opening of iframe and then submitting form from it. What my problem is, I am using this script in a form which will have some other fields too. So after uploading the image, when I click submit at the end of the form, the form is submitted to the file which was opened in iFrame. As I am not an expert in JS, can you guys help me with this? I tried changing the action attribute and tried to completely remove the form too, but nothing helped.

ASP.NET request extension type

Hello, I am working on a large web application which I have recently shelved tons of .aspx pages from the project. To avoid page not found error, I added these entities in the xml which came around 300+ in count. I wrote a http module that checks the request url in the xml entities and if they are found, my module is going to redirect the request to respective new pages. Everything works great, but my collection is getting iterated for all the requests, I mean for each and every .jpg, .css, .js, .ico, .pdf etc. Is there any object or property in .net that can tell the type of request that user requested for like HttpContext.request.type. So that I can avoid checking the request for all unwanted file types.

AngularJs not working with dynamic html

In my cshtml file I have a form named 'ApplyMedicalMain' and I want to show a dynamically loaded division when the form is dirty but its not happening even though the form is dirty ... Are there hosted jQuery UI themes anywhere? [closed]

Possible Duplicate: Downloading jQuery CSS from Google's CDN I'm using Google-hosted jQuery and jQueryUI, but I'm wondering if there are hosted jQueryUI themes anywhere? I'd like to just point to a hosted CSS file (the same way I do with the hosted JS file), so that I don't have to worry about setting up directories for the widget images or the CSS files or anything like that. Update I've found this, referenced by the jqueryui.com source code: <link rel="stylesheet" href="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.7.2/themes/ui-lightness/jquery-ui.css" type="text/css" media="all" /> Substituting the name of other themes from the themeroller page seems to work, but I'd love it if someone could find where on Google they list all the available themes that they are hosting. I'm not finding anything about this (maybe it is very recent?).
