  • Removing an OTF macro from a Razer Deathstalker

    I recently bought a Razer Deathstalker, and the other day I managed to activate the OTF macro recorder by accident, so now I have random gibberish and key presses bound to regular keys, so typing anything ends up being a pain, considering the backspace key prints "allallallallall", and so on. The only way I've found of fixing this is reconnecting the keyboard or disabling Synapse, but that's only temporary, as it comes right back the next time I turn my PC on. Razer support mentions nothing related to removing them, and neither anywhere else I could imagine, and nothing shows up in Synapse (god I hate Synapse). But anyways, I'd appreciate it if anyone could help. Thanks

  • Building RPM containing passwords

    I need to be able to send an RPM to customers that will install the complete server, including Apache and MySQL. The customers will install it on a clean machine. After installation, the server should connect to our main DB, so I though of including the password in the RPM somehow, encrypted if possible. The reason I'm asking this is because I'm pretty sure that it's not wise to save the password in the rpm scripts. I was hoping that someone else had a similar problem and managed to solve that somehow. If anyone knows a way to do that, or have a better idea please share!

  • Juniper Networks SRX240 as a office router?

    We're a small (7 person) fast growing startup who just got our new office and we're having a 100 Mbps line installed from Cogent. I'm not familiar with Juniper devices, however the equivalent Cisco appears to be rather expensive. Features we'd like: Offsite VPN access (PPTP or L2TP IPsec) - something Mac compatible IPv6 support NAT - ideally supporting multiple outside addresses mapped to VLANs DHCP DNS forwarding would be nice QoS to keep our SIP phones happy (managed through RingCentral) VLANs for guest/internal The device is going to be connected to a set of SIP phones as well as two Ruckus 7962s for wireless access. Eventually I'd like to connect it to a Juniper ESX switch as we grow. Would a Juniper SRX240 handle this ok?

  • Visual Studio 2008 Report Designer - can't turn on gridlines

    Microsoft in their infinite wisdom have seen fit to remove the useful "Draw Grid" and "Snap to Grid" checkboxes in the report properties dialog that were in VS 2005 but are not in VS 2008. I'm assuming they put that functionality elsewhere but I can't find it after going through what seems like every menu option available. Does anybody know how to turn on the gridlines?

    There is a big, complex directory structure on a relative big NTFS partition. Somebody managed to put very bad security privileges onto it - there are directories with randomly given/denied permissions, etc. I already run into permission bugs multiple times, and I found insecure permission settings multiple times (for example, write permissions for "Everyone", or false owners). I don't have time to check everything by hand (it is big). But luckily, my wishes are very simple. The most common: read/write/execute on anything for me, and maybe read for Everyone. Is it possible to somehow remove all security data from a directory and giving my (simple) wishes to overwrite everything there? On Unix, I used a chown -R ..., chmod -R ... command sequence. What is its equivalent on Windows?

What does running Word on server implies? In order to get the Word example running, do the following on the server side. Worked for me... 1. Click START--RUN and enter "dcomcnfg" 2. In the "Applications" tab, go down to "Microsoft Word Document" 3. Click PROPERTIES button 4. Go to the "Security" Tab 5. Click "Use custom access permissions", and then click EDIT 6. Click ADD and then click SHOW USERS 7. Highlight the IIS anonymous user account (usually IUSR_), click ADD 8. Go back to the "Security" tab by hitting OK 9. Click "Use custom launch permissions", and the click EDIT 10. Click ADD and then click SHOW USERS 11. Highlight the IIS anonymous user account (usually IUSR_), click ADD 12. Hit OK, and then hit APPLY. Also, you should look at the "Identity" tab in the Microsoft Word Document PROPERTIES and see that it is set to "Interactive User" ALSO, log into the machine AS the IUSR_ account, start word, and make sure to click through the dialog boxes that Word shows the first time it is run for a certain user.   • What is Openflow?

    Okay, I've been thinking about this a lot recently but I think I may be more confused now than I was originally when I started. I can't find anything about Openflow that helps me understand what it is. None of the websites I have found have given a solid definition of what Openflow really is and what it does, at least if they do I can't comprehend it. Is there an easy way to explain this standard so my small brain can understand it? I understand that Openflow is a way to abstract networking away from switches and can be managed from software, etc etc. I feel like it might be a little easier to grasp if I had exmaples of application. But so far searching has failed me. What is Openflow? How can it help me? What does it offer?

  • Apache error "No address associated with hostname" on Arch Linux (ZMLarch)

    I'm trying to set up video surveillance system using IP cameras and ZoneAlarm on Arch Linux. I set up fixed IP address, I've managed to get streams from cameras, etc. However, after restart of the machine, I cannot start Apache again. I checked configuration of rc.conf, and saw that static IP configuration has been deleted, and also secondary nameserver in resolv.conf. Tried to re-write these with correct parameters, but now with no effect. This is tail of my /var/log/httpd/error_log file, after /etc/rc.d/httpd restart attempt [Fri Jan 29 04:20:45 2010] [alert] (EAI 5) No address associated with hostname: mod_unique_id: unable to find IPv4 address of "zmhost" Configuration failed Anybody have an idea on how could I fix this?

  • MPMoviePlayerController doesn't implement MPMediaPlayback protocol as advertised?

    I'm trying to use the MPMediaPlayback protocol's currentPlaybackRate() to slow down a video. I'm confused though as the class MPMoviePlayerController states that: You can control most aspects of playback programmatically using the methods and properties of the MPMediaPlayback protocol, to which this class conforms. Except just above in the header here: http://developer.apple.com/iphone/library/documentation/MediaPlayer/Reference/MPMoviePlayerController_Class/MPMoviePlayerController/MPMoviePlayerController.html it doesn't seem to. All I want to do is slow down the playback rate for a video.

  • Samsung printer (ML-1640) margin problem

    I just got a new laser printer, Samsung ML-1640, and it has once again confirmed my experience that Samsung printers suck badly. The printer prints fine, except that the top margin is set at random, usually very small, cutting text on the top of page off. I tried updating firmware, getting new drivers, but nothing helped. I tried changing paper types, and it seemed that with the paper set as "plain" it was OK, but I just tried printing again after letting the printer rest for the night, and wasted 6 pages until I managed to print 2 boarding passes... Is there anything else I could try to resolve the issue?

  • Windows Server 2008 R2 Apache 2.2 PHP 5.3.3 install problem

    I am trying to install Apache 2.2 and PHP 5.3.3 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 box. I've managed to setup Apache, but PHP is not working correctly: I've downloaded the latest zip from windows.php.net (VC6) and I've modified http.conf in order to load the php5 module (LoadModule, AddType & PHPIniDir). So far, so good - phpinfo() is showing and I am happy... But, there is no php.ini file - I haven't yet renamed the bundled php.ini-development|php.ini-production file. If I do so (in order to modify PHP's configuration), no php code is interpreted (including phpinfo()). I've gone over the entire php.ini-development file and still it is not working... This is very strange. Any help is welcome, Thanks in advance.

  • Crypto-Analysis of keylogger logs and config file. Possible?

    Is there anyway Encryption on an unidentified file can be broken(file in question: config file and log files from ardamax keylogger). These files date back all the way to 2008. I searched everywhere, nothing on slashdot, nothing on google. Ardamax Keyviewer? Should I just write to Ardamax? I am at a loss of what to do. I feel comprimised. Anyone managed to decrpyt files with Crypto-analysis? More Information-- There are log files in the folder and a configuration file, "akv.cfg". Is it possible to decrypt the files and maybe getting the attackers email address used to receive the keylogger logs? I've Checked ardamax.com. They have an built-in log viewer. But its unavailable for download. If superuser isn't the proper place to ask, know where I might get help?

  • Win Server 2008 force kerberos setting

    I am currently facing the problem that a linux machine running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS with samba and winbindd installed is unable to join a Domain, that is managed by a Windows 2008 DC. The linux config, is probably alright, since I have successfully used it at multiple sites, running 2008 as well as 2003 DCs. The error I get ("libads/kerberos.c: Join to domain is not valid. Client credentials have been revoked"), indicates that there is a kerberos problem. Normally the linux box is supposed to authenticate via NTLM and is configured that way. The only reason I can image why it tries kerberos is that the DC is forcing it. Do you know whether there is any setting in the security policies of a window 2008 server, that would completely block NTLM, forcing kerberos? If so, where can I find this setting?

Do you want to continue debugging ? If I click yes, it compiles and runs fine. But now I have to deal with that message.     We are getting this exception when we start our cluster (2 managed servers, 1 admin), we have deployed only the ears corresponding to the OBPM 10.3.1 SP1 in a weblogic 10.3. When the server cluster starts, one of the managed servers (the first to start) get overloaded and ran out of connections to the directory DB because of this repeatedly error.   • speed: XmlTextReader vs LinqtoXml

    Hi, i'm about to read some xml (who isn't :-)) This time however it's a lot of data: about 30.000 records with 5 properties, all in one file. Till now i've always read that the XmlTextReader is the fastest way to read xml data, but now there also is the (nice sytax of) linqtoXml. Does anybody know any performance issues, or that there aren't any, with LinqToXml? Michel

So I'm starting over and interested in all information I can get. What hardware do I need? Can I install it on Ubuntu 12.04? Standalone client is Spring application that uses <jee:remote-slsb> bean. When trying to use that bean I get java.lang.IllegalStateException: EJBCLIENT000025: No EJB receiver available for handling [appName:, moduleName:RandomEjb, distinctName:] combination for invocation context org.jboss.ejb.client.EJBClientInvocationContext@1a89031. Here is relevant part of applicationContext.xml: <jee:remote-slsb id="remoteRandom" jndi-name="RandomEjb/DefaultRemoteRandom!pl.lechglowiak.ejbTest.RemoteRandom" business-interface="pl.lechglowiak.ejbTest.RemoteRandom" <jee:environment> java.naming.factory.initial=org.jboss.naming.remote.client.InitialContextFactory java.naming.provider.url=remote://localhost:4447 jboss.naming.client.ejb.context=true java.naming.security.principal=testuser java.naming.security.credentials=testpassword </jee:environment> </jee:remote-slsb> <bean id="remoteClient" class="pl.lechglowiak.RemoteClient"> <property name="remote" ref="remoteRandom" /> </bean> RemoteClient.java public class RemoteClient { private RemoteRandom random; public void setRemote(RemoteRandom random){ this.random = random; } public Integer callRandom(){ try { return random.getRandom(100); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); return null; } } } My jboss client jar: org.jboss.as jboss-as-ejb-client-bom 7.1.2.Final pom pl.lechglowiak.ejbTest.RemoteRandom is available for client application classpath. jndi.properties contains exact properties as in <jee:environment> of <jee:remote-slsb>. Such code runs without exception: Context ctx2 = new InitialContext(); RemoteRandom rr = (RemoteRandom) ctx2.lookup("RandomEjb/DefaultRemoteRandom!pl.lechglowiak.ejbTest.RemoteRandom"); System.out.println(rr.getRandom(10000)); But this: ApplicationContext ctx = new ClassPathXmlApplicationContext("applicationContext.xml"); RemoteClient client = ctx.getBean("remoteClient", RemoteClient.class); System.out.println(client.callRandom()); ends with exception: java.lang.IllegalStateException: EJBCLIENT000025: No EJB receiver available for handling [appName:, moduleName:RandomEjb, distinctName:] combination for invocation context org.jboss.ejb.client.EJBClientInvocationContext@1a89031. jboss.naming.client.ejb.context=true is set. Do you have any idea what am I setting wrong in <jee:remote-slsb>?

  • IIS 7.5 default permission - is restriction needed?

    I am using IIS 7.5 and I do not need to explicitly specify permissions for my ISAPI application to execute. Additionally, the application can create subdirectories, create and delete files without me specifying permissions. Since I am using the default permissions, checked to see if web.config was safe from prying eyes over the web, and it can’t be read which is good. My app also creates some .log and .ini files which are also not viewable over the web. I did notice that .txt files are viewable. I really don’t know how default permissions allow my app to do so much. Is this safe or do I need to lock down? To be honest, I don’t know what accounts to restrict. App details: My ISAPI has an ‘allowed’ entry in ISAPI and CGI Restrictions Folder and subfolders containing my application has ‘default’ permissions set. Application pool is using ‘classic’ pipeline mode and no managed code. Pass-through authentication in use. Thank you for your time
