• Phonegap 2.1 for Android - Hello World App 3 errors at launch

  I developed something with Phonegap for iOS, but this is my first trial for Android. I created my hello world application with CLI sth like this mentioned here: $ /path/to/cordova-android/bin/create /path/to/my_new_cordova_project com.example.cordova_project_name CordovaProjectName Even though I created this app in Eclipse Workspace, I needed to import it to Eclipse. I created two AVDs. One for API level 8, one for API level 16. When I try to build, it gives me these three errors and a warning. What is wrong with my setup? • Minimal files to run a fully-functional PostgreSQL in Windows

  I would like to bundle PostgreSQL into my application. I downloaded the PostgreSQL 9 beta zip without the installer. After extraction, there are 8 directories. I found out that at least the following directories are required to run PostgreSQL properly, at least under my experiments. bin lib share The question is, are the above three directories really sufficient to run a fullly functional PostgreSQL? Do I need the 'include' and 'symbols' directories? Also, can I remove 'share\locale' if I don't use these locales?

  I have an Ant script running a standard -task after taking in an inputed password: <input message="Password:" addproperty="password"> <handler classname="org.apache.tools.ant.input.SecureInputHandler" /> </input> <exec executable="/bin/sh" input="${password}" failonerror="true"> <arg line='-c "myScript.sh"' /> </exec> The script myScript.sh prompts the user for a password, and, it was my understanding that from the Ant documentation that input is supposed relay input into whatever the <exec> task is executing, but instead I get (for entering the password foobar) [exec] Failed to open /usr/local/foobar which is followed by a stack trace from my script complaining about an incorrect password...so obviously I've understood the documentation wrong. Does anybody know how to handle prompted input from external scripts in Ant?

• Apache2 on Ubuntu Server w/ CGI, FastCGI, mod_php

  I've looked at various websites on configuring Apache with cgi and can't get mod_fcgid to work. It works fine using mod_php5, but I wanted to compare performance using cgi and fastcgi. I tried methods using FGCIWrapper among various other techniques and the only one that didn't result in an unlogged 403 or download of the file was using "Action application/x-httpd-php /usr/bin/php-cgi" When trying to configure mod_fcgid the file normally just started a download of an unprocessed file. I used wget to check headers and type was "application/x-httpd-php" At one point I was able to get to the page, but it resulted in a 403, which was listed in access.log, but not error.log (I was told it should be in there too) I tried to get it working on a fresh install of Ubuntu Server 10.04 LTS and 10.10 and had the same results on both, so I'm not doing something correctly in terms of configuration. I tried virtualmin and could only get mod_php to work. The page just prompted a download when selecting cgi or fcgi from the control panel.

• Alternative to 'publish' in visual studio

  I am working on an app with configurable files. When i publish i notice 1) I get an installer which i dont think i can opt out of 2) I dont know where the install path is and if i change the config files the application will not install (maybe not run either if i edit them in the right place?) So what alternatives do i have? I would like some event i can run which builds in release mode then copies the release.exe and any config/media file and move it to path/deploy/prj/ so i can zip it or share it instead of a path in my sensitive path/src area (bonus is i can share deploy if i want all projects to be available (and no source)) Using visual studio 2010 -edit- also i need some data in src/relatedprj/bin/*, to be copied into the root

• Unable to link to opengl libraries? DOS / MSVC

  Is there something wrong with this link.exe command line? OpenGL32.lib and Glu32.lib are found at both of the LIBPATH directories. Is it possible the libraries are somehow incompatible? Is there a way to have the link.exe say that instead of unresolved external symbol? Googling shows that this error usually means the libraries are not found, but they are there. • Bash init.d script detect that mysqld has started and is running

  I'm working on my dedicated server running CentOS. I found out that one of my applications which starts up via a script in /etc/init.d/ requires MySQL to be running, or else it throws an error, so essentially I currently have to start it by hand. How can I detect, in a bash script (#!/bin/sh), whether the MySQL service has started yet? Is there some way to poll port 3306 until it is open to accept connections, and only then continue with the script? Or maybe set an order so that the script doesn't run until the mysqld script runs?

• How can I specify a single .config file for multiple EXE projects in .NET

  I have a project that I am breaking up into multiple .exe projects. I still plan on publishing them, using click once, into the same location at the same time, and I would like to use the same config file. I have added the app.config to each project using the "Add link" option in Visual Studio, which is great for debugging, but in production, when I compile each exe project, the app.config is not copied into the "master project"'s bin folder. example: master.exe with master.exe.config master.exe may launch order.exe based on user settings master.exe may launch returns.exe based on user settings master, order, and returns will all reside in the same folder, and should share a single config file.

• What would be the simplest way to deal with a text file using JSP?

  First and foremost I should acknowledge that I have no experience at all using Java ServerPages, but I'm positive about achieving this task if you guys help me out a bit since it doesn't seem like something difficult for a seasoned JSP programmer. Anyway the thing is, there's an actual running JSP application within a *NIX box which I somewhat administer with kind of good permissions. The idea is to create a new but dead simple JSP page to control some Korn Shell scripts I've got running there. So the goal is to make some sort of HTML form that will be writing some kind of scriptStatus.on / scriptStatus.off file: #!usr/bin/ksh # coolScript.sh # This is my cool script that is being launched by cron every 10 minutes. if [ -e scriptStatus.off ] then # monitor disabled else # monitor enabled fi which then can be checked for existence within the running script, therefore allowing to easily activate / deactivate it without actually have do deal with cron. • C# arraylist can't compare objects after they are loaded from disk

  To make it easy, lets say I have an arraylist allBooks containing class "books" and an arraylist someBooks containing some but not all of the "books". Using contains() method worked fine when I wanted to see if a book from one arraylist was also contained in another. The problem was that this isn't working anymore when I save both of the Arraylists to a .bin file and load them back once the program restarts. Doing the same test as before, the contains() returns false even if the compared objects are the same (have the same info inside). I solved it by overloading the equals method and it works fine, but I want to know why did this happen?

• How to set -Xbootclasspath for a JRE with a custom launcher?

  I have a Java application which is using a certain Java Runtime Environment. The application uses it's own launcher to startup the java virtual machine. No use of the java.exe, javaw.exe, javaws.exe binaries is being made -- as the application seems to have it's own launcher which is a different executable. This custom launcher is using the rest of the JRE files, such as bin/client/jvm.dll and rt.jar package etc. Now, the problem is that I want to set a boot class path for this custom launcher. The custom launcher does not support the -Xbootclasspath command line parameter, like the default java.exe does. Is there any way for me to set the boot class path now for this java runtime environment? Thanks in advance. • Unable to export runnable jar, launch configuration grayed out

  I am not able to figure out how to export a runnable jar in eclipse. I have a java project (project A) (written by someone else) which when imported in Eclipse, I can click Build Project and it will create a projectName.jar file under bin/ directory. That jar file contains binary *.class files. This jar file is added as external library for another java project (project B) which I want to debug. But because all the class files are binary I'm not able to do line-by-line debugging. I tried exporting Runnable Jar in Eclipse, for that I have to select a Launch Configuration. But there is no main class in project A. (I recursively grepped for main and didn't find any). What can I do to export jar of project A that contains respective source code also (which will be used in line-by-line debugging)?

  Hi all, I'm having a problem with processing a largeish file in Python. All I'm doing is f = gzip.open(pathToLog, 'r') for line in f: counter = counter + 1 if (counter % 1000000 == 0): print counter f.close This takes around 10m25s just to open the file, read the lines and increment this counter. In perl, dealing with the same file and doing quite a bit more (some regular expression stuff), the whole process takes around 1m17s. • How do I build a python string from a raw (binary) ctype buffer?

  I'm playing with Python and ctypes and I can't figure out how to resolve this problem. I call to a C function which fills a raw binary data. • Is there a way to set up a Linux pipe to non-buffering or line-buffering?

  My program is controlling an external application on Linux, passing in input commands via a pipe to the external applications stdin, and reading output result via a pipe from the external applications stdout. The problem is that writes to pipes are buffered by block, and not by line, and therefore delays occur before my app receives data output by the external application. The external application cannot be altered to add explicit fflush() calls. When I set the external application to /bin/cat -n (it echoes back the input, with line numbers added), it works correctly, it seems, cat flushes after each line. The only way to force the external application to flush, is sending exit command to it; as it receives the command, it flushes, and all the answers appears on the stdout, just before exiting. I'm pretty sure, that Unix pipes are appropiate solution for that kind of interprocess communication (pseudo server-client), but maybe I'm wrong. • open_basedir restriction does not allow me to use rename() or write files in a dir.

  Hey, I have a php file (currently at / ) and I want this file to change the content of a file, "test.js". This file is in the dir "/libs/js/test.js". While I can read the content, for example with fread or file_get_contents, I can not write in it with file_put_contents or any other function. I always get the Warning Warning: rename() [function.rename]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/libs/js/test.js) is not within the allowed path(s): (/var/www/web166/:/usr/bin/) in /var/www/web166/html/info.php on line 88 Does anyone have any idea what to do? Thanks in advance.

• Can I compile and execute C# expression without saving the assembly to disk?

  I can compile, get an instance and invoke a method of any C# type programmaticaly. There lots of info on that, including the StackOverflow (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/53844/how-can-i-evaluate-a-c-expression-dynamically). My problem is that I'm in the web environment and cannot save anything to /bin directory. I can compile "in-memory" as the above mentioned link suggests but then I won't be able to "unload" my custom assembly from the current AppDomain. After a while that will become a huge memory problem. Is it possible to open a new AppDomain, compile new assembly "in-memory", evaluate some expression or access some member of that assembly inside of that new AppDomain and kill that AppDomain safely when done, all that without saving anything to a hard drive? Thanks in advance for any links, suggestions, etc.
