  • IIS error hosting WCF Data Service on shared web host

    My client has a website hosted on a shared web server. I don't have access to IIS. I am trying to deploy a WCF Data Service onto his site. I am getting this error: IIS specified authentication schemes 'IntegratedWindowsAuthentication, Anonymous', but the binding only supports specification of exactly one authentication scheme. Valid authentication schemes are Digest, Negotiate, NTLM, Basic, or Anonymous. Change the IIS settings so that only a single authentication scheme is used. I have searched SO and other sites quite a bit but can't seem to find someone with my exact situation. I cannot change the IIS settings because this is a third party's server and it is a shared web server. So my only option is to change things in code or in the service config. What should I change to resolve this error?

  • Mono WCF NetTcp service takes only one client at a time

    While trying to build a client-server WCF application in Mono we ran into some issues. Reducing it to just a bare example we found that the service only accepts one client at a time. If another client attempts to connect, it hangs until the first one disconnects. Simply changing to BasicHttpBinding fixes it but we need NetTcpBinding for duplex communication. Also the problem does not appear if compiled under MS .NET. EDIT: I doubt (and hope not) that Mono doesn't support what I'm trying to do. Mono code usually throws NotImplementedExceptions in such cases as far as I noticed. But when I used same Converter to the DataGridTextColumn it throw execption why, can anyone know why is th is behaviour thanks in advance.

    Hello, I have a WCF service that is returning a lot of data. I want to compress that information so I thought that using BinaryEncoding would be appropriate. Currently, I have a binding setup in my web.config as follows: <binding name="myCustomBinding" closeTimeout="00:05:00" openTimeout="00:05:00" receiveTimeout="00:05:00" sendTimeout="00:05:00"> <binaryMessageEncoding /> <httpTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="8388608" maxBufferSize="8388608"> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </httpTransport> </binding> In my ServiceReferences.clientconfig file, I have the following binding settings: <binding name="CustomBinding_MyService"> <httpTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647" maxBufferSize="2147483647"> <extendedProtectionPolicy policyEnforcement="Never" /> </httpTransport> </binding> Oddly, this configuration will not work. As soon as I remove the <binaryMessageEncoding /> line from the web.config, everything works fine. My question is, how do I use binary message encoding? Is there something I need to configure in my ServiceReferences.clientconfig? Thank you

  • Debugging scripts loaded with GroovyShell (in eclipse)

    I am working with eclipse and groovy plug in. I am building a test harness to debug and test groovy scripts. The scripts are really simple but long, most of them just if/else/return. I figured out that I can call them using GroovyShell and Bindings to pass in the values. The problem is that, while I can call the script and get the results just fine, I CAN NOT step in there with the debugger. Breakpoints in those scripts are not active. Is there a way to debug the scripts? Maybe I should use something other than GroovyShell? I really don't want to modify the scripts by wrapping them into functions, and then calling those functions from my test classes.   • Connect to QuickBooks from PowerBuilder using RSSBus ADO.NET Data Provider

    The RSSBus ADO.NET providers are easy-to-use, standards based controls that can be used from any platform or development technology that supports Microsoft .NET, including Sybase PowerBuilder. In this article we show how to use the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks in PowerBuilder. A similar approach can be used from PowerBuilder with other RSSBus ADO.NET Data Providers to access data from Salesforce, SharePoint, Dynamics CRM, Google, OData, etc. In this article we will show how to create a basic PowerBuilder application that performs CRUD operations using the RSSBus ADO.NET Provider for QuickBooks. Step 1: Open PowerBuilder and create a new WPF Window Application solution. Step 2: Add all the Visual Controls needed for the connection properties. Step 3: Add the DataGrid control from the .NET controls. Step 4:Configure the columns of the DataGrid control as shown below.   • MVVM and Animations in Silverlight

    I wanted to spin an icon to show progress to my user while some content was downloading. I'm using MVVM (aren't you) and made a satisfactory Storyboard to spin the icon. However, it took longer than expected to trigger that animation from my ViewModel's property.I used a combination of the GoToState action and the DataTrigger from the Microsoft.Expression.Interactions dll as described here.Then I had problems getting it to start until I found this approach that saved the day. However, the custom error handler doesn't work. The reason is, the AddServerErrorHandlers() method never gets called when webServiceHost.Open() is run. So, can anyone tell me what is wrong with this picture? And why, is AddServerErrorHandlers() not getting called automatically, like it does when I'm using non-ssl endpoints? Thanks!

  • Svcutil generating bad config with multiple endpoints

    I have a WCF service that has exposed a soap and an xml endpoint. When I use svcutil to generate the proxy code on the client side the generated configuration contains two endpoints which causes the client to fail. If I edit the web.config file and remove the second endpoint (with the custom binding) all works as expected. Is there a way I can get svcutil to generate a config that just works so that I don't need to hand edit the file everytime?   • Calling a WCF service from another WCF service

    Hi ! I have a WCF service hosted on a windows service on my Server1. It also has IIS on this machine. I call the service from a web app and it works fine. But within this service, I have to call another WCF sevice (also hosted on a windows service) located on Server2. The security credentials are set to "Message" and "Username". I have an error like "SOAP protcol negociation failed". It's a problem with my server certificate public key that doesn't seem to be recognise. However, if I call the service on the Server2 from Server1 in a console app, it works fine.     I am trying to create a WCF client APP that is consuming a JAVA WS that uses username_token with message protection client policy. There is a private key that is installed on the server and a public certificate file was exported from the JKS keystore file. I have installed the public key into certificate store via MMC under Personal certificates. I am trying to create a binding that will encrypt the message and pass the username as part of the payload. I have been researching and trying the different configurations for about a day now. First I thought about a regular Client/Server app but now I think best would be if the app could act as HTTP server and send HTML to connected browsers. Does anybody know if there is a library available to add HTTP server functionality to an app? Ideally it would be able to serve ASP.NET content.

    I have the following composition of devices: [selfmade router] - ethernet - [WLAN router 1] ----- wlan ------ [WLAN router 2] WLAN router 2 has 5 ethernet ports, each as an own VLAN, so 5 VLANs. I want to manage the routing and firewalling between those VLANs at selfmade router. What technique would I use to pass the tagged vlan packets from WLAN router 2 to selfmade router? Could I use a bridge from WLAN router 2 to WLAN router 1 which itself has a bridge from WLAN router 1 to selfmade router or do I have a wrong understanding of a bridge? As my View is bound to the BillingViewModel which has a Property Customers of type ObservableCollection and ONE customer in this collection has a "list" of orders named ObservableCollection and ONE order in this collection has a "list" of products named ObservableCollection Well I need the ObservableCollection`s for databinding but should a domain model really have a ObservableCollection ? normally it has a List or IEnumerable ! Is this bad habit or having side effects?

    Hi! I have a problem with a WCF service, which tries to serialize too much data. From the trace I get an error which says that the maximum number of elements that can be serialized or unserialized is '65536', try to increment the MaxItemsInObjectGraph quota. So I went and modified this value, but it is just ignored (the error is the same, with the same number). All this is server-side. I am calling the service via wget for the moment.
