• FreeText COUNT query on multiple tables is super slow

  I have two tables: **Product** ID Name SKU **Brand** ID Name Product table has about 120K records Brand table has 30K records I need to find count of all the products with name and brand matching a specific keyword. I use freetext 'contains' like this: SELECT count(*) FROM Product inner join Brand on Product.BrandID = Brand.ID WHERE (contains(Product.Name, 'pants') or contains(Brand.Name, 'pants')) This query takes about 17 secs. I rebuilt the FreeText index before running this query. If I only check for Product.Name. They query is less then 1 sec. Same, if I only check the Brand.Name. The issue occurs if I use OR condition. If I switch query to use LIKE: SELECT count(*) FROM Product inner join Brand on Product.BrandID = Brand.ID WHERE Product.Name LIKE '%pants%' or Brand.Name LIKE '%pants%' It takes 1 secs. I read on MSDN that: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187787.aspx To search on multiple tables, use a joined table in your FROM clause to search on a result set that is the product of two or more tables. So I added an INNER JOINED table to FROM: SELECT count(*) FROM (select Product.Name ProductName, Product.SKU ProductSKU, Brand.Name as BrandName FROM Product inner join Brand on product.BrandID = Brand.ID) as TempTable WHERE contains(TempTable.ProductName, 'pants') or contains(TempTable.BrandName, 'pants') This results in error: Cannot use a CONTAINS or FREETEXT predicate on column 'ProductName' because it is not full-text indexed. So the question is - why OR condition could be causing such as slow query?

• How do I extract specific data with preg_match?

  I'm looking to extract values from a whole load of html (i've just trimmed down to the relevant data), there are multiple 'select' elements, and only want to extract those who's 'name' element matches the name 'aMembers'. • C++ Instantiate class and add name to array/vector then cycle through update functions from the array

  I have a bunch of classes in a basic (and badly coded!) game engine that are currently instantiated in the code and have to have their individual update functions called. What I want to do is be able to create an instance of a class, pass the name to an array, and then subsequently cycle through the array to call the update functions of each class. I'm unsure as to whether or not this is an impossible or spectacularly stupid way of trying to manage objects, so please tell me if it is. So currently I might have manually instantiated Enemy class a couple of times: Enemy enem1; Enemy enem2; I then have to update them manually in the game loop: enem1.update(); enem2.update(); What method should I use to be able to spawn and destroy instances of the enemy class during gametime? Is it possible to populate an array with instantiated names and then do something like (and i'm aware this doesn't work); array[x].update(); Then iterate through the names in the array? Anything that even points me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

• EXC_BAD_ACCESS and KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS after intiating a print sequence.

  MAC G4/1.5GHz/2GB/1TB+ OS10.4.11 Start up Volume has been erased/complete reinstall with updated software. Current problem only occurs when printing to an Epson Artisan 800 [USB as well as Ethernet connected] when using Macromedia FreeHand 10.0.1.67. All other apps/printers work fine. Memory has been removed/swapped/reinstalled several times, CPU was changed from 1.5GB to 1.3GB. Page(s) will print, but application quits within a second or two after selecting "print." Apple has never replied, Epson hasn't a clue, and I am befuddled!! Perhaps there is GURU out their who and see a bigger-better picture and understands how to interpret all of this stuff. If so, it would be a terrific pleasure to get a handle on how to cure this problem or get some A M M U N I T I O N to fire in the right direction. I thank you in advance.   Hi, My W2K3 server was running TFS 2008 SP1, SQL Server 2005 Development edition. I installed SQL Server 2008 Standard. I installed it while leaving SQL Server 2005 alone. Upgrading was not possible due to the differences in editions of the SQL Servers. Now TFS is broken. On a client computer, if I go Team - Connect to Team Foundation Server, I get this error: Team Foundation services are not available from server myserver. Technical information (for administrator): TF30059: Fatal error while initializing web service. So I head on over to my event viewer on the server. Under Application, I see one warning and two errors.   I have a legacy application that used binary serialisation to persist the data. Now we wanted to use Json.net 4.5 to serialise the data without much changes to the existing classes. Things were working nice till we hit a circular dependent class. Is there any workaround to solve this problem? • NHibernate mapping with optimistic-lock="version" and dynamic-update="true" is generating invalid up

  I have an entity "Group" with an assigned ID which is added to an aggregate in order to persist it. This causes an issue because NHibernate can't tell if it is new or existing. To remedy this issue, I changed the mapping to make the Group entity use optimistic locking on a sql timestamp version column. This caused a new issue. Group has a bag of sub objects. So when NHibernate flushes a new group to the database, it first creates the Group record in the Groups table, then inserts each of the sub objects, then does an update of the Group records to update the timestamp value. However, the sql that is generated to complete the update is invalid when the mapping is both dynamic-update="true" and optimistic-lock="version".   I have the following object: public class MyClass { public int Id { get; set;} public string Name { get; set; } } I'm wanting to serialize this to the following xml string: <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> Unfortunately, when I use the XMLSerializer I get a string which looks like: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <MyClass xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> I'm not wanting MyClass to be the root element the document, rather I'm eventually wanting to add the string with other similar serialized objects which will be within a larger xml document. i.e. Eventually I'll have a xml string which looks like this: <Classes> <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> <MyClass> <Id>1</Id> <Name>My Name</Name> </MyClass> </Classes>" My first thought was to create a class as follows: public class Classes { public List<MyClass> MyClasses { get; set; } } ...but that just addes an additional node called MyClasses to wrap the list of MyClass.... My gut feeling is that I'm approaching this the wrong way and that my lack of experience with creating xml files isn't helping to point me to some part of the .NET framework or some other library that simplifies this.

That same method returns a complex type which WSC converted into nested NSDictionaries, so no problems there. So I assumed I'd be able to convert my local TestItemResponse class into an NSDictionary and then use that as the complex type param. It almost worked, but unfortunately WSC set the object's type as "Dictionary", instead of "TestItemResponse", and the server complained. <TestItemResponse xsi:type=\"SOAP-ENC:Dictionary\"> <ErrorFullDescription xsi:type=\"xsd:string\">foo</ErrorFullDescription> ... I can't seem to find anything that allows you to override the type WSC assigns to the element in the SOAP XML. I've been using code adapted from here, I'm happy to list it, it's just quite long and this is already the longest SO question I've ever posted.

If this is the case, how do I make it so that Hibernate points to the exists ServiceType instead of trying to insert it again?

  Hi guys, I have two table a "Module" table and a "StaffModule" I'm wanting to display a list of modules by which staff are present on the staffmodule mapping table. • ASP.NET ObjectDataSource, change CommandName property of FromView Button

  I have an ObjectDataSource that I'm using with a FormView, and it works fine, but i want to change one small thing. On the FormView the button that fires the update has the CommandName attribute set to "Update," but I would like to change that attribute to something other than "Update" - when I do change that attribute the update no longer works. The reason I want to do this is I have multiple FormViews on the same page and need to have multiple update buttons. • Need help accessing PHP DOM elements

  Hey guys, I have the following HTML structure that I am trying to pull information from: // Product 1 <div class="productName"> <span id="product-name-1">Product Name 1</span> </div> <div class="productDetail"> <span class="warehouse">Warehouse 1, ACT</span> <span class="quantityInStock">25</span> </div> // Product 2 <div class="productName"> <span id="product-name-2">Product Name 2</span> </div> <div class="productDetail"> <span class="warehouse">Warehouse 2, ACT</span> <span class="quantityInStock">25</span> </div> … // Product X <div class="productName"> <span id="product-name-X">Product Name X</span> </div> <div class="productDetail"> <span class="warehouse">Warehouse X, ACT</span> <span class="quantityInStock">25</span> </div> I don't have control of the source html and as you'll see productName and it's accompanying productDetail are not contained within a common element. Now, I am using the following php code to try and parse the page. $html = new DOMDocument(); $html->loadHtmlFile('product_test.html'); $xPath = new DOMXPath($html); $domQuery = '//div[@class="productName"]|//div[@class="productDetail"]'; $entries = $xPath->query($domQuery); foreach ($entries as $entry) { echo "Detail: " . $entry->nodeValue) . "<br />\n"; } Which prints the following: Detail: Product Name 1 Detail: Warehouse 1, ACT Detail: 25 Detail: Product Name 2 Detail: Warehouse 2, ACT Detail: 25 Detail: Product Name X Detail: Warehouse X, ACT Detail: 25 Now, this is close to what I want. But I need to do some processing on each Product, Warehouse and Quantity stock and can't figure out how to parse it out into separate product groups. The final output I am after is something like: Product 1: Name: Product Name 1 Warehouse: Warehouse 1, ACT Stock: 25 Product 2: Name: Product Name 2 Warehouse: Warehouse 2, ACT Stock: 25 I can't just figure it out, and I can't wrap my head around this DOM stuff as the elements don't quite work the same as a standard array. If anyone can assist, or point me in the right direction I will be ever appreciative.

According to the tutorial, running xjc on the schema, one will get PurchaseOrder.java interface and PurchaseOrderType.java interface. When I run xjc on my schema I only get a ProjectType.java class, and when the xml actually consist of a single element, this won't parse, because there are no Project.java class/interface to match.
