    Ok, so I've downloaded some TTS engines to replace the default microsoft TTS engine, and make my program sound a little more 'human' -- basically i am wondering where abouts the TTS engine files are stored on the local pc (windows 7) -- the files i have are in .Dat format, does anyone have any idea where abouts the should go to be registered as a voice for Text-to-Speech? I tried doing str = ', '.join(item for item in items) but run into the following error: TypeError: sequence item 0: expected string, tuple found How would I do the above formatting?

  • NSXMLParser + encoding="windows-1257"

    So i'm making small program and it download ziped XML database file that is ~30 MB size (unziped). As I understand there is only way with such big files on iPhone, it's to use NSXMLParser. But that file is encoded with windows-1257 format and NSXMLParser does not eat files like that. What can I do? Is there a way to change file encoding on iphone or make NSXMLParser work with other then UTF8 encoded files?

    I have a standard passwd file & a usermap file - which maps unix name (eg jbloggs) with AD account name (eg bloggsjoe) in the format: jbloggs bloggsjoe jsmith smithjohn ... etc. How can I edit the passwd file to swap the original unix name with the AD account name so each line of the passwd file has the AD account name instead. Appreciate any help for a perl learner.
