    i describe the situation: i have two pc with postgressql server: - a main pc, with ip 192.168.5.1 turned on - a "backup" pc, with ip 192.168.5.1 turned off i want that the main pc saves the two identical databases in local hard drive and on a nas real-time. when the main pc has a failure, i turn on, manually, the secondary pc, that reads the database from the nas it's possible to do that? postgres: postgresql-9.1 operating system: Ubuntu 10.04

Can I use Bitlocker to encrypt my main partition, or to encrypt the VHD volume?

We are contemplating increasing the MAX CONNECTION POOL to between 500 to 1000 -- to handle the estimated traffic. Two questions (1) Does anyone have any hard performance numbers indicating the kind of improvement this may provide? (2) What is the impact of hitting that MAX CONNECTION POOL number in a production enviroment?

    I'm looking for recommendations on how to automate / simplify deployment from a git repository (github) to a hosting service. The hosting service supports FTP (yuck) / SSH / SFTP access. Any good tools out there to give push-button deployment of new revisions? I know it's not a hard script to write, but when you start thinking about things like roll-back and multiple sites, it gets complicated enough that I'd rather not re-invent the wheel.

    We have a windows 2003 AD and are using Folder redirection to redirect the users My Documents to a share. Is there a way to save certain filetypes (*.mp3, *.avi) or folders (My Music, My Pictures) on the user's hard disk instead of saving on the netwerk share? I'm aware of the GPO setting 'Exclude directories in roaming profile' but I'm not sure if that will do what I want (we're using redirected folders)

    Took me a bit to realize that since upgrading to 8.1 my touchpad smart gestures (two finger scroll, top down swipe, left in swipe, ect) don't work. I have read up a little online but can't seem to find an answer or fix that 1) sounds trustworthy and 2) is put into language and steps that I understand. BootCamp provides no easy way of turning off the bluetooth or wifi radios, and nor are there any hotkey combinations on the keyboard, nor any hard or soft switches on the body to toggle these radios. As I'll be travelling a lot with this machine, what's the best way for me to comply with the cabin service crews' instructions and disable the radios before takeoff, and reenable them after landing?

    It's always been hard for me to add a music folder with subfolders to Windows Media Player's playlist. I double click a file in the folder (or click on WMP shortcut), WMP opens, and I drag the other files or folders manually to the playlist. Isn't there an option to add a right-click context menu item that can automatically add all audio contents in a folder (with subfolders) to WMP playlist?

It makes it really hard to concentrate and since I can't really move my PC to another part of the house I was thinking of getting a decent pair of noise-canceling headphones.
