    Here i have installed widows server 2008 64 orale 11g r2 64 now i want to access this from the ip address that i have set to my server not working i can't access trough the ip address.... when i use on my application .....local host it can get connected but when i add the ip for example 10.0.0.2 it's not connecting now simply also on local when i write the ip address it's not connecting but with localhost works fine..... so even i have used listener. regards

    i would like to create a simple trigger to check a stored variable from a table. if the value of the variable is '1', then approve the insertion else if the value of the variable is '2', then prompt error message.     before answer me plz thinking about the futures of these kind of program and answer me plz. I wanna get some data from oracle server like: 1-get all the function,package,procedure and etc for showing them or drop them & etc... 2-compile my *.sql files,get the result if they have problem & etc... becuz I was beginner in oracle first of all I for solve the second problem I try to connect to sqlPlus by RUN sqlplus and trace the output(I mean,I change the output stream of shell and trace what happend and handle the assigned message to customer. NOW THIS PART SUCCEED. just a little bit I have problem with get all result because the output is asynchronous.any way... [in this case I log in to oracle Server by send argument to the sqlplus by make a process in c#] after that I try to get all function,package or procedure name,but I have problem in speed!so I try to use oracle.DataAccess.dll to connect the database. now I m so confusing about: which way is correct way to build a program that work like Oracle Developer! I do not have any experience for like these program how work. If Your answer is I must use the second way follow this part plz: I search a little bit the Golden,PLedit (Benthic software),I have little bit problem how I must create the connection string?because I thinking about how I can find the host name or port number that oracle work on them?? am I need read the TNSNames.Ora file?     I have a requirement to display the below in a csv file which is generated using UTL_FILE package of PL/SQL. Heading1 Heading2 Heading3 ABCDE 123 987641213 xxx street yyyy For each value in 'Heading1', I get 3 rows for address from a particular table. In the output csv file, I need to display the address in a single cell with data separated by a new line. I tried using a cursor and appending data using chr(10), chr(12), chr(15) but in vain. Kindly help me in getting the output.

    I have a table with a lot of columns and a type column. Some columns seem to be always empty for a specific type. I want to create a view for each type and only show the relevant columns for each type. Working under the assumption that if a column has ONLY null values for a specific type, then that columns should not be part of the view, how can you find that out with queries? Is there a SELECT [columnName] FROM [table] WHERE [columnValues] ARE ALL [null] I know I COMPLETELY made it all up above... I'm just trying to get the idea across. Thanks in advance!

    I'm using a database link to execute a DELETE statement on another DB, but the DB link name doesn't conform to global naming, and this requirement cannot change. Also I have global_names set to false, and cannot be changed either. When I try to use these links however, I receive: ORA-02069: - global_names parameter must be set to TRUE for this operation Cause: A remote mapping of the statement is required but cannot be achieved because GLOBAL_NAMES should be set to TRUE for it to be achieved. - Action: Issue `ALTER SESSION SET GLOBAL_NAMES = TRUE` (if possible) What is the alternative action when setting global_names=true is not possible?     Hi everybody. I'm working on a query (a SELECT) and I need to insert the result of this one in a table. Before doing the insert I have some checking to do, and if all columns are valid, I will do the insert. The checking is done in a stored procedure. The same procedure is used somewhere else too. So I'm thinking using the same procedure to do my checks. The procedure does the checkings and insert the values is all OK. I tryied to call the procedure inside my SELECT but it does not works. SELECT field1, field2, myproc(field1, field2) from MYTABLE. This kind of code does not works. I think it can be done using a cursor, but I would like to avoid the cursors. I'm looking for the easiest solution. Anybody, any idea ? Thanks alot. C.C.

    I am processing large amounts of data in iterations, each and iteration processes around 10-50 000 records. Because of such large number of records, I am inserting them into a global temporary table first, and then process it. Usually, each iteration takes 5-10 seconds. Would it be wise to truncate the global temporary table after each iteration so that each iteration can start off with an empty table? There are around 5000 iterations.

    I am executing a stored procedure which has 2 cusors within the stored procedure. The 1st cursor which is not return to the jdbc as a resultset is closed within the stored procedure. The 2nd cursor which returns the resultset to the jdbc is not closed within the stored procedure. Upon executing I encounter cursor is closed exception which is puzzling. Since the ResultSet will close all underlying cursor upon invoking the close() method

    I would just like to ask what is the difference between user_constraints and user_objects. I have this two database. I run a script on both DB that resulted a unique constraint error. To solve the problem I delete the constraint on user_constraint table for both DB. After that DB1 run without error.. DB2 however failed, I checked the user_constraint for both db and the constraints was deleted. I was asked to check the user_objects.. and found that DB2 has that same constraint_name as the object_name in user_objects table.. Any info regarding their relationship, use, similarites, etc will be appreciated ... Thanks..

When I look at it from sqlplus I see: 00-DECEMB when I use the dump function on this column, I Get: Typ=12 Len=7: 100,100,0,0,1,1,1 I need to work with the existing data from .Net (no changes to the data,or the data structure or even existing sql statements) How the hack do I read this value, or write it. The db version varies, from 8 to 11. Help would be appreciated
