    Let us say Java didn't have annotations. What would be the ideas you would come up with to design something like Google Guice's DI framework? I am fairly new to Java and cannot think of anything other than what Junit3 Had XML Configuration Some kind of introspection? How would you inspect the elements that needed to be injected? What would be your ideal way of configuration other than annotations?

    Hi Fiburt, Today I meet a similar problem and it reminds me about this thread. In Visual Studio, if we open the .csproj file, we see that they tell us to uncomment the two targets AfterBuild and BeforeBuild so as to execute them after and before the build of the current project accordingly. My questions are: Where are these two targets called in Visual Studio? And how is it handled if the targets are not defined (be commented out) ?

  • Viewing an EXE File

    I was attempting to install an exe that requires a serial number before the install, which the vendor has not provided to us yet. This got my wheels turning about whether there is any information that can be gained from viewing an exe using a hex editor/VI/etc? Using VI to view an exe, I can see some sections of plain text, but it is difficult to determine what it refers to without any context around it. Is it possible to determine any information by reading an exe? Thanks

    Hello all, I'm looking for a Win32 equivalent of the .Net Encoding.GetEncoding Method to be used in Delphi7. What I would like to achieve is to convert a Codepage ID (ie.: 28592) to a Codapage name (iso-8859-2 in this case). After a few searches on the we I tried downloading and running the sample the source here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/cc164067.aspx I get a compile error: error C2440: 'static_cast' : cannot convert from 'UINT (__thiscall CStaticLink::* )(CPoint)' to 'LRESULT (__thiscall CWnd::* )(CPoint)' 1 Cast from base to derived requires dynamic_cast or static_cast (VS 2008) The tooltips functionality seems to be a bit of a challenge. Any suggestions on how to get this working are much appreciated.

  • In Eclipse, how can spaces behave as tabs ?

    I have replaced all my tabs by spaces. But now, when I hit backspace to remove an indentation level, it removes only one space. So I have to hit 4 times space to remove an indentation level. That is one of the most absurd thing I've seen in Eclipse, so I guess there is an option somewhere to enable us to remove 4 spaces as if it where a tab ? (because we use spaces instead of tabs for practical reason, 4 spaces is supposed to mean "1 tab") Thanks Note : I use Eclipse PDT

Meaning, someone wants to type in "Chicago, IL" ... so they begin typing "Chi" and it auto-suggestions "Chicago, IL". My biggest hurdles is finding a service that I can query to find out all US city+state names.     I'm using the winmm.dll API method waveOutGetPosition to get the current position of the playback of a WAV file. Sometimes this works as expected for me, but eventually one of the calls never returns and my application locks up.     I am using javascript (and PHP) to validate a simple form with a phone number field. I have it working fine checking that the field has only 10 characters, but I really want to check if the field has between 10 and 11 characters. Reason being, some people type numbers like so: 1 555 555 5555 and some people do this 555 555 5555.   • Avoid writing SQL queries altogether in SSIS

    Working on a Data Warehouse project, the guy that gave us the tutorial advised that we stick to using SQL queries over defining a lot of data flow transformations, citing points like it'll consume a lot of memory on the ETL box so we'd rather leave the processing to the DB box. Is this really advisable? Where's the balance between relying on GUI tools over executing a bunch of SQL scripts on your Integration package? And honestly, I'd like to avoid writing SQL queries as much as I can.
