• UITableViewCell with custom gradient background, with another gradient as highlight color

  I have a custom UITableViewCell with a custom layout. I wanted a gradient background, so in my UITableViewDelegate cellForRowAtIndexPath: method, I create a CAGradientLayer and add it to the cell's layer with insertSubLayer:atIndex: (using index 0). This works just fine except for two things: Most importantly, I can't figure out how to change to a different gradient color when the row is highlighted. I have tried a couple things, but I'm just not familiar enough with the framework to get it working. Where would be the ideal place to put that code, inside the table delegate or the cell itself? Also, there's a 1px white space in between each cell in the table. I have a background color on the main view, a background color on the table, and a background color on the cell. Is there some kind of padding or spacer by default in a UITableView?

• Showing Master/Detail UITableView inside UIPopOverController

The cells in the table have a detailedView, but whenever that view gets pushed, the PopOverController increases in size, and I am left with all this white space inside it. Question is this: Can anyone show me how I can have a Master/Detail UITableview show inside a PopOverController whilst preserving its dimensions?   I have my own TreeView control which is completely OwnerDraw'ed: myTreeView.DrawMode = TreeViewDrawMode.OwnerDrawAll; What I try to achieve is to draw the opened/closed glyph according to the current explorer theme. Especially on Vista and Win7 boxes I'd like to see the new glyphes (black triangles) instead of the plus/minus signs. I know, for a non-OwnerDraw'ed TreeView this can be achieved as follows which works perfectly: myTreeView.HandleCreated += delegate(object sender, EventArgs args) { MyNativeMethods.SetWindowTheme(myTreeView.Handle, "explorer", null); }; I thought a VisualStyleRenderer let me paint the glyphs theme-aware: VisualStyleRenderer r = new VisualStyleRenderer(VisualStyleElement.TreeView.Glyph.Opened); r.DrawBackground(e.Graphics, e.Bounds); The code above unfortunately draws the minus sign in all cases. It looks like the VisualStyleRenderer does not honour the theme setting. Can someone shed some light on this? Thanks!

  Hi everyone, I have some problems with sizing row's height in QTreeWidget. I use QStyledItemDelegate with QPlainTextEdit. During editing text in QPlainTextEdit i check for changes with a help of: rect = self.blockBoundingRect(self.firstVisibleBlock()) and if text it's height changes i need row in QTreeWidget also resizing.   Are there any decent examples of the following available: Looking through the WIF SDK, there are examples of using WIF in conjunction with ASP.NET using the WSFederationAuthenticationModule (FAM) to redirect to an ASP.NET site thin skin on top of a Security Token Service (STS) that user uses to authenticate (via supplying a username and password). If I understand WIF and claims-based access correctly, I would like my application to provide its own login screen where users provide their username and password and let this delegate to an STS for authentication, sending the login details to an endpoint via a security standard (WS-*), and expecting a SAML token to be returned. Ideally, the SessionAuthenticationModule would work as per the examples using FAM in conjunction with SessionAuthenticationModule i.e. be responsible for reconstructing the IClaimsPrincipal from the session security chunked cookie and redirecting to my application login page when the security session expires. Is what I describe possible using FAM and SessionAuthenticationModule with appropriate web.config settings, or do I need to think about writing a HttpModule myself to handle this? Alternatively, is redirecting to a thin web site STS where users log in the de facto approach in a passive requestor scenario?

• FILESTREAM/FILETABLE Clarifications for Implementation

  Recently our team was looking at FILESTREAM to expand the capabilities of our proprietary application. The main purpose of this app is managing the various PDFS, Images and documents to all of the parts we manufacture. Our ASP application uses a few third party tools to allow viewing of these files. We currently have 980GB of data on the Fileserver. We have around 200GB of Binary data in SQL Server that we would like to extract since it is not performing well hence FILESTREAM seems to be a good compromise to the two major data storage/access issues. A few things are not exactly clear to us: FILESTREAM Can or Cannot store its data on a drive that is not locally attached. We already have a File Server with a RAID 10 (1.5TB drives). This server stores all of the documents right now, would we have to move these drives to the SQL Server for FILESTREAM? That would be a tough bullet to bite since the server also is doubling as the Application Server (Two VMs on one physical server). FILETABLE stores the common metadata about the files but where is the Full Text part of it stored to allow searching of files like doc/docx? Is this separate? Are you able to freely add criteria to this to search by? If so any links to clarify would be appreciated. Can FILETABLE be referenced in another table with a foreign key? EDIT 2: Update to #1 - After carefully assessing FileTable in addition to FILESTREAM we got a winning combination. We did have to move the files over to the new server (wasn't to painful since they were on the same VM).It honestly took more time to write an extraction tool to dump the binary data within SQL to the File System. I waited for 5 minutes and the message was still there. Is there a way to prevent this? Why I cannot simply take a copy of the move as it is. I do not want any compressing... is there a way to solve this? thanks.

  Hi, In my application I have 4 tabs in my tab bar. There is a navigation where if i click on a button on tab bar 2 view, it should take me to tab bar 3 view. I am doing this by using setting the selectedIndex property of tab bar like appDelegate.tabBarController.selectedIndex = 2; However, this doesn't reload the view of tab bar 3. It simply shows the tab bar 3 view that was last accessed (which may be down the navigation hieararchy in tab bar 3). Please help as to how can i reload the root view of tab bar 3. I tried having the delegate method of tabbar as below: - (void)tabBarController:(UITabBarController *)tabBarController didSelectViewController:(UIViewController *)viewController { [viewController.navigationController popToRootViewControllerAnimated:FALSE]; } but this works only if I click on a tab to go to the view and doesn't work with selectedIndex.Please help.
