• Install h5py in Mac OS X 10.6.3

  I'm trying to install h5py in Mac OS X 10.6.3. First I installed HDF5 1.8, which used the following commands: ./configure \ --prefix=/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current \ --enable-shared \ --enable-production \ --enable-threadsafe \ CPPFLAGS=-I/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/include \ LDFLAGS=-L/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/lib make make check sudo make install Then install h5py: /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current/bin/python \ setup.py \ build \ --api=18 \ --hdf5=/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/Current Then I got the errors: Configure: Autodetecting HDF5 settings... • Call phpexcel from joomla

  i have a problem about phpexcel and joomla. I'm developing some filter form to load excel reports, so i used phpexcel library to do this. Right now i have only a report, it works fine, but after that i upload inside joomla using PHP pages component that allows me to put php files inside joomla and call it. When i put them, i change a little bit the form that calls the php that generates the excel report, i call the php using a link like this: h**p://www.whiblix.com/index.php?option=com_php&Itemid=24 That is, calling it from Joomla, not directly the php. If i wanna call the php directly i could use this path: h**p://www.whiblix.com/components/com_php/files/repImportaciones.php What's the problem? The problem is, when i call the php that generates the excel through joomla, the excel that is downloaded is corrupt and only shows symbols in one cell when i open it. But if i call the php directly the report is generated fine. I could call the php directly, the problem is that if i call it directly i can't use this line of code: defined( '_JEXEC' ) or die( 'Restricted access' ); That is used to deny the direct access to php from call it directly, because it doesn' work because the security. Where's the problem? • How to give focus to default program of shell-opened file, from Java ?

  From within Java, I am opening an Excel file with the default file handler (MS Excel, in this case :-) ) using the method described in this stackoverflow question: Desktop dt = Desktop.getDesktop(); dt.open(new File(filename)); However, the Excel program doesn't get the focus. Is there any easy way to do so? Edit: There is a related stackoverflow question for C#, but I didn't find any similar Java method.

  I have a working database export to xls but I need it to export a particular date range based on the 'closed' date. (See code below).   I get this error (file is being used by another process). • Importing a Mercurial repository automatically (e.g. SVN Externals)

  I have a project that I am developing built off CodeIgniter. The main part of the project is a private system I am creating, but I want to add it to source control, to gain all the associated goodies. Now I'm using Mercurial, so I did the whole hg init bit, so I've got the repository set up. Now, one of the things I've done is to make a library for CodeIgniter, which I use in this project. Now I want to make this library open, so I need a separate repo for that. For anyone unfamiliar with CodeIgniter library development, here's a reference: application /config <- configuration files /libraries <- library logic in here Now I will probably develop a few more libraries in the course of this project, so I can't just dump a repo in the application folder without clumping them all together. What I did was this: dev/ci/library <- library here dev/project <- project here Now in both of those folders, I have made a repository. What I want to do is make the project repository automatically reference the library repository, so I can have a private and a public repository, as I explained earlier. The main way to do this, I have read, is to use subrepositories, but I can only find examples on nested ones (which are unclear anyway, I find). How do I make it reference another repository like svn:externals?

• How to import 3rd party libraries

  I found some cool android libraries the other day and decided to try some. But I'm having trouble correctly importing the library. This is the URL of the library : https://github.com/dmytrodanylyk/android-process-button I first tried importing the library to eclipse (and move the files in java directory to src directory and set the project as library) and importing the sample to eclipse and set it to use the library project (Properties-Android-Libraries). But it didn't work. The layout files said it failed to instantiate [custom widget class]. The I tried importing the .jar file to libs directory (and update the java build path) but it didn't work either. It showed errors in the java files too. I then tried copying all the java and layout files to the sample project directory and it worked. But I'm guessing that's not the way to work with 3rd party libraries. I first thought it's some error with the library but all the other libraries I tried to import to my projects faced the same problem. Can someone walk me through how to correctly import a 3rd party library to my android project?

• Where can I find a library that parses source code and is able to extract the scope of where your cursor is currently in the code?

  In SublimeText(2), when you press [ctrl + shift + p] (mac osx) you are shown a scope of where your caret/cursor is in the source code at the given moment e.g.: entity.name.tag.inline.any.html meta.tag.inline.any.html text.html.basic I am curious about what library or script is used to parse the document/file and create that scope string. A sidenote: Typing view.syntax_name(view.sel()[0].b) into Sublime's console will output the scope as well.

• iTunes Home Sharing only works one way between 2 WinXP PC's on the same LAN

  Both PC's have the latest iTunes installed. PC (A) can "see" that there is a shared library "B library" but attempts to connect to it return this error message: The shared library "{Username}'s Library" is not responding (-3259) Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689. however the reverse works fine. e.g. PC (B) can "see" shared library "A library" and can access all content. Notes: Both PC's have Home Sharing enabled (turned off/on several times to verify). Both PC's have Windows Firewall turned on, but in the exceptions tab, iTunes is allowed, and Port 3689 is also added as a firewall exception (just in case) Both iTunes accounts have been "authorized" on both PC's Both PC's connect via LAN via D-Link DIR-615 router. In the advanced application rules, iTunes has also been added to allow traffic on port 3689 un-hindered. Is there any other magical setting/configuration option that I should be aware of and set in order to get this to work? I could care less about sharing apps etc. I just want the music sharing to work. Update: Solved! It turns out on PC (B) there were multiple accounts set up. 1 of the accounts had the checkbox checked under the windows firewall "On" option which states "No exceptions" thus even though it was added to the exception list on the main user account, this other account was blocking access.

• How to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6?

  Trying to install DBD::mysql on OS X Server 10.6 (mac mini server). But I'm missing the mysql headers apparently. Since mysql is already part of OS X Server 10.6, I would like to NOT install anything else (no fink or darwin ports installs), just whatever's needed to get DBD::mysql installed and working. Do you know how I could do that? Do I have to install the headers somewhere? And if so, where? (again: I don't want to install another version of mysql on the box, want to use the version it came with). Is there a way to install DBD::mysql without compiling any C files? Still, when I check the preferencesteamsvn an error dialog shows: Failed to load JavaHL Library. These are the errors that were encountered: no libsvnjavahl.1 in java.library.path Incompatible JavaHL library loaded 1.3.x or later required I followed the "Testing JavaHL libraries" troubleshooting section at the bottom of the wiki: I downloaded the tarbal and ran it in a folder on my desktop with no problems. Then, I followed the instructions and placed that file INSIDE the path (usr/lib/jni/testJavaHL) and ran it from there. • Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 update breaks SSL

  Summary After updating from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2, neither Safari nor Google Chrome can load GMail. Spinning Beachballs all around. The problem isn't GMail; Firefox loads GMail just fine. The problem isn't limited to Safari or Google Chrome; Other applications also have trouble with SSL: Gilgamesh and Safari. Any program that uses WebKit (Google Chrome, Safari) or a Cocoa library (Gilgamesh) to access the Internet has trouble loading secure sites. The various forums online suggest a handful of fixes, none of which work. Analysis Fix #1: Open Keychain Access.app and delete the Unknown certificate. The 10.7.2 update also prevents Keychain Access from loading. The Keychain program itself Spinning Beachballs. Fix #2: Delete ~/Library/Keychains/login.keychain and /Library/Keychains/System.keychain. This temporarily resolves the issue, and lets you load secure sites, but a minute or two after rebooting or hibernating somehow magically undoes the fix, so you have to delete these files over and over. Fix #3: Delete ~/Library/Application\ Support/Mob* and /Library/Application\ Support/Mob*. There is a rumor that the new MobileMe/iCloud service ubd is causing the issue. This fix does not resolve the issue. Fix #4: Open Keychain Access, open the Preferences, and disable OCSP and CRL. This fix does not resolve the issue. Fix #5: Use the 10.7.0 - 10.7.2 combo installer, rather than the 10.7.1 - 10.7.2 installer. When I run the combo installer, it stays forever at the "Validating Packages..." screen. The combo installer itself is bugged to He||. I force-quit the installer, ran "sudo killall installd" to force-quit the background installer process, and reran the combo installer. Same problem: it stalls at "Validing Packages..." Recap The only fix that works is deleting the keychains, but you have to do this every time you reboot or wake from hibernate. There is some evidence that ubd continually corrupts the keychain files, but the suggested ubd fix of deleting ~/Library/Application\ Support/Mob* and /Library/Application\ Support/Mob* does not resolve this issue. • What issues ensue from having multiple versions of Office installed?

  My ultimate question is embodied in the title but I thought it might be helpful to others if I detail what instigated my inquiry and my examination of the problem. To me, the first rule of software updates is Primum non nocere -- first, do no harm. So with my Windows 7 system containing both Office 2003 and Office 2010 I blithely proceeded to install this month's updates from Microsoft, containing updates for both versions of Office. While Microsoft officially does not recommend running multiple versions (see, for example, Running Multiple Versions of Microsoft Excel it is possible; I have had two versions installed for a year or more and have never run into an issue before. One thing that is always mentioned is installation order, i.e., the one you want to open files by default should be installed last. I wanted 2010 as my default so I had indeed installed 2003 first then, years later, 2010. So with this round of Windows updates, either it installed patches to 2010 before 2003, knocking out the file association, or the 2003 patch was more comprehensive, in the sense of touching the file association while the 2010 did not. In any case, after updates, double-clicking a .xls file opened 2003 rather than 2010. Web search indicated either: Use the file associations control panel to re-associate .xls files with the correct version of excel. I looked at this first, but it showed what seemed to be an unversioned "Excel" associated with .xls files so I did not check further. (This turned out to be an error on my part; more later.) Re-install versions in the desired order; I find this unreasonable. Run the repair option of the Office installer on the desired version; still seems more work than one should need. Run excel from the command line with "/regserver" on the one to be the default and "/unregserver" on the other. Good idea, but further search indicated that neither 2007 nor 2010 support "/regserver" contrary to some posts (e.g. Default Program With Multiple Versions Installed). Since this was a Windows Update issue and Microsoft provides free support for such, I inquired there as well, but succeeded only in getting the suggestion to uninstall all other versions, period; not acceptable to me. What worked for me was going back to the file associations control panel and manually selected the Office 2010 version of Excel. While it appeared no different in the control panel, it did fix the double-click issue. So if all it takes is this simple fix after an update, I can live with that. What I am wondering is: Has anyone seen any other problems related to having multiple versions of Office installed?
