  • Remote MySQL connection fails (10060)

    When I am trying to connect to a MySQL database from a remote computer I get a prompt saying: Connection Failed: [HY000] [MySQL][ODBC 5.1 Driver]Can't Connect to MySQL server on 'XXX.XXX.XX.XX' (10060) I have created a user account in the MySQL Administrator and added a host to enable remote access, I have also made an exception for my Windows Firewall on port 3306 but the connection still fails. What is the problem? Thanks!

However i fail to understand, why do they offer codename "Enterprise" Shared hosting at the same price point as the codename "Economy" VPS ? Enterprise Shared: http://www.softsyshosting.com/windows.aspx The First Economy VPS: http://www.softsyshosting.com/windows-vps.aspx Why would someone be willing to pay the same amount of money for 350GB less bandwith, less database storage, less disk space, no RDP control .. ?

  • change directory automatically on ssh login

    Hi, I'm trying to get ssh to automatically change to a particular directory when I log in. I tried to get that behaviour working using the following directives in ~/.ssh/config: Host example.net LocalCommand "cd web" but whenever I log in, I see the following: /bin/bash: cd web: No such file or directory although though there is definitely a web folder in my home directory. Even using an absolute path gives the same message. To be clear, if I type cd web after logging in I get to the right folder. What am I missing here? EDIT: Different combinations of quotes/absolute paths give different error messages: LocalCommand "cd web" /bin/bash: cd web: No such file or directory LocalCommand cd web /bin/bash: line 0: cd: web: No such file or directory LocalCommand cd /home/gareth/web /bin/bash: line 0: cd: /home/gareth/web: Input/output error This makes me think that the quotes shouldn't be there, and that there's another error happening.

    I seem to be missing drivers for my Gateway laptop MA7. I have looked in System-Admin-Hardware Drivers, but it does not show up in there.There are also no devices listed in Sound-Hardware. I'm guessing at this point that I don't have the driver installed. I have SCVMM linked to the host and thats working good, and have configured the scvmm on the lab management tab on TFS.     In this article it mentions that TrendMicro is now treating all emails from Amazon's EC2 as coming from "Dial Up Users": likely to be spam and this is creating severe deliverability issues with their emails. We're having all kinds of issues sending email from our app servers on Rackspace cloud (which may or may not be DUL'd) and I wonder if this isn't just a losing battle and we should try to get a different host for our SMTP server.

    I do not have a Android phone yet. But i wanted to do proof of concept making arduino board + USB host shield work with Android emulator. Problem is pc takes only USB-A, so I decided to use USB - serial - serial USB and connect between Arduino USB shield and PC (Andoid emulator). Everything is set up including ADK, DemoKit Java application, firmware for Arduino. However, Demokit does not recognize as the device connected. So is there any workaround to this?

    I'm a beginner at using OpenWRT but I'm loving it already. Everything is running fine (internet, wifi) on all clients except one thing: the computers running in my LAN don't see each other. Pings to them or between them gives "destination host unreachable". This happens when using either the machine's IP's or their assigned hostnames. Running Backfire 10.03.1 - default settings everywhere except of course for the specific ISP stuff in the WAN. What's going on?

For all production servers, the public-private key pair has been generated for the same user and then exported to the backup server for allowing ssh authentication without human intervention.     So originally my host (mediatemple dv) has two default directories for the roots: 1)httpdocs/ 2)httpsdocs/ In the conf directory I changed the vhosts.conf and httpd.include and others to change from httpdocs to custom folders. Now I installed a new ssl certificate and https://example.com goes to the default page located at httpsdocs. I'm just wondering where configurations for apache are stored for ssl. Ideas?

Broadcast packets "Who has 192.168.14.149" reach eth0 but OS (Linux) doesn't respond despite eth0 has address 192.168.14.149. What connection exists between routing and arp resolution?

    I've installed a CMS on a shared host running Apache, now when I was deleting the root directory with FTP, some folders left with a "Permission denied" error and I can't change their attributes. the best explanation I've got is that the CMS installer has placed the files and has assigned its ownership to the Apache server instead of my user name. (i don't know it can be done) Ijust haven't use the uninstaller because I've lost my admin password - -" so how to delete those folders ?

However, when I try to connect to the server using the same name and password via pgadmin, I am getting the following error: could not connect to server: Operation timed out Is the server running on host "xx.xxx.xx.xxx" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432? Why am I able to connect through terminal but not pgadmin?

Right now the IP resolves to a Virtual Host I set up and the localhost resolves to the DocumentRoot established by httpd.conf
