• JCarousel wrap set to 'circular' bug

  I'm trying to set up a JCarousel instance witht the wrap set to circular, however, I noticed an issue where I "inspect element" in Chrome, duplicate elements are added to the html when the slides repeat (it can be viewed on the official example page). http://sorgalla.com/projects/jcarousel/examples/static_circular.html I know this is an open bug on GitHub. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a temporary workaround. Thanks in advance, - Scott

• loading HTML fragments with jQuery

  Hi everybody, I'm very new to jQuery, Ajax and things like these. I've found solutions on how to inject HTML fragments into my site: $(document).ready(function(){ $('a').click(openContent); //binding all anchors to this function }); function openContent(){ var path = $(this).attr('href'); $('#content').load(path); return false; //to prevent browser from loading the single HTML fragment } That works really fine! The problem is, these function won't be executed when clicking on anchors located in the new HTML fragment which were injected right before. So the fragment won't get injected into div, the browser will only load the fragment for itself. Hope there are solutions which aren't that tricky... thanks sam

  I have a problem with IE causing two errors: 1. Object doesn't support this property or method 2. Call was rejected by callee. My Intention: To call window.opener.myObject method that is going to retrieve some data using ajax and pass in callback function that live as nested function in popup window that initiated call that is going to handle response data and modify popup window html accordingly. Here is a scenario: I pull up popup window that handles some specific operation. This popup window calling window.opener.myObject method that using ajax call. I'm passing in popup window function that is going to handle response and it works with ff and safari but not with ie. • Help with Sharepoint (WSS 3.0) and JQuery

  Ok so the scenario is as follows: Have a sharepoint site setup on Microsoft Online, basically this site is a job booking system and is based on a custom sharepoint list. What I am trying to achieve is to extract List Items where the Invoiced Column is set to "No". Eventually I would like to post this to xero.com using their API as it accepts XML through the API Endpoints. Have tried using JQuery and JPoint but my limited programming skills are holding me back. Could anyone offer me some advice or point me in the right direction of someone that could help? am willing to pay someone if they can help me with getting this to work :)

I tried $.competency but it didn't work. I always get a "competency is undefined" error. I had to reinitialize the variable once again inside the callback. Is there a way to NOT reinitialize the variable inside the callback?

  hi, I am having an issue with parsing XML with JQuery when there is a node with an option node <preferences><dashboard> <report id="si_pg_vw" order="0"> <header> <data> <option type="reportname" value="Page View"/> </data> </header> </report> the following code in firebug returns no children $reportElement.find("data")[0] however if I change option to any other value ("option2", "test" etc) then the line above returns one child which is correct.   i am new to using jQuery and I just want to know how I can check whether a draggable object has been removed from the droppable object. Example, i have a dog and I dragged it to a doghouse which has a lightbulb that will light up indicating that the dog is there. When i drag the dog out of the doghouse, the lightbulb should go off again indicating the dog's absence. Help me please coz I really don't have any idea how to do this. Thanks in advance. :)

• Definitive best practice for injecting, manipulating AJAX data

  Ever since my foray into AJAX, I've always used the "whatever works" method of manipulating AJAX data returns. I'd like to know what the definitive and modern best practice is for handling data. Is it best practice to generate the HTML via the server script and introduce the returned data on the onComplete function? Should XML/JSON be looked at first before anything? How about manipulating the returned data? Using .live() doesn't seem like it is the most efficient way. I've never seen a definitive answer to this question. Your expertise is much appreciated.

  I need to set equal height on a series of divs inside another div wrapper. The problem is that I dont want the same height on all of them. The page kind of have 3 columns and the floating divs can be 1, 2 or 3 columns wide. The divs float left, so the following example will give me three rows of divs in my wrapper. How can I set equal height on the divs that are in the same row? In my example I want nr 1 and 2 to have equal height and 3, 4 and 5 another equal height? I cant know beforehand how many divs there is or how wide or high they are. Edit: They can be for instance 300, 600 or 900 px wide and the page width is 900px <div id="wrapper"> <div class="one-wide">nr1</div> <div class="two-wide">nr2</div> <div class="one-wide">nr3</div> <div class="one-wide">nr4</div> <div class="one-wide">nr5</div> <div class="three-wide">nr6</div> </div> Im thinking I somehow need to figure out when the added width of the divs is at the full page width and set equal height on those. • jQuery fadeIn IE Png Issue when loading from external

  I am loading data from external html files within my domain into a div on my webpage using a load content method in jQuery. I take the div out of the new page whilst hiding the div in the current page by fading this out and fading the new one in. There is a png image in both of these divs and it is creating horrid black blobs in IE, works fine in other browsers but due to IEs inability to process multiple filters its making a mess. I tried using the unit png fix to no avail, does anyone have any fixes or ideas to help keep my pngs looking nice during this transition? i46.tinypic.com/t9dtvr.jpg this is a screenshot of the problem, cheers also discovered that the png that is on the page originaly (before loading anything new) fades in and out perfectly using the unit png fix but stuff loading in and then back out from external files doesnt. Ive added the fix to those pages too but that doesnt work either.

• Create jQuery Slider Range With One Handle Not Using Min/Max

  Hey all, Is there any possible way to create a slider that will create a range similar to what is done with one handle using min/max, only instead of min/max, starting the range from say 50 (on a scale from 1-100)? I realize this will most likely require modification of the slider or creating a plugin, just wondering if anyone has done this already or knows how to go about it. I.e. something like this: http://jqueryui.com/demos/slider/rangemin.html Only, instead of the range going from the min, going off of where the handle is, and allowing the user to slide either left or right of that fixed starting point to create the range. Something like what Rackspace has here: http://www.rackspacecloud.com/ After staring at the page for 30 seconds or so, a div comes sliding down from the top asking you whether you want to chat with a rep. If you ignore the div for a period of time it slides back up. I know I could hand code all this using timers and animate() and such, but hoping someone has done it for us already. Any ideas?

I also cannot use the "ClientID" property because the part of code that access that list is not inside the page, but in a separate javascript file. So how can I access it ?

  I have a great deal of javascript that needs to be min'd before being served to the end user. Currently, I'm using JSMIN, but I'd like to switch to something a bit more powerful (such as something with local variable replacement). I'm currently looking at YUI min developed by yahoo, and it got me thinking about the min tool that jquery uses. Does anyone know what it is and if it's publicly available? Also, any recommendations on other min tools that might be better suited than YUI min? If possible, I'd like a java solution so I can just plug the library into what I've already created for the JSMIN solution. Thanks

Any advice, how can I get my selector rel value?

  I am creating a custom simple dropdown using jQuery that hides/shows a element based on over state. The problem I have now is that when you go over the shown element it hides, you cant move your mouse in to the dropdown that was created.
