    I have a solution that was developed in VS 2008 that is configured to use IIS. I configure the Virtual directory in IIS the same way I have with other working solutions using IIS. When I either build and run the solution in VS 2008 or browse the virtual directory using IIS, I get the following error message. Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage What you can try: It appears you are not connected to the Internet, but you might want to try to reconnect to the Internet Retype the address Go back to the previous page. Most likely causes: You are not connected to the Internet The website is encountering problems There might be a typing error in the address. Why might this be?

  • Is there a simple automatic backup system for Visual Studio projects?

    Hello, I'm using Visual Studio 2008 Express and I would like Visual Studio (or perhaps an Add-in) to save my whole project to some sort of auto-incrementing archive or whatever would help me recover from disasters. I don't have much need for SVN or complex versioning systems. I'm just looking for something simple and lean. Any help would be much appreciated. Jenny PS : I looked into the built-in AutoRecover feature but it doesn't seem to save more than a few files.

    Hi Experts, Who can help me with this: I am working on Win7 x64, with VS.net 2008. I am developping for pocketpc. When my application is deployed to the device emulator it can't connect to my computer / db server. Both de emulator as well the mobile device center are configured to use DMA.   • Has anyone had trouble with Intellisense in Visual Studio when using UltraVNC?

    Hi, a colleague and I are trying pair programming for the first time. We both remote into a development machine; I'm using RemoteDesktop and my colleague is using UltraVNC. This works great except that he can't see the Intellisense dropdown in Visual Studio 2008. According to online posts, this may be something to do with DirectDraw, but I don't see much by way of a workaround. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks, Andrew

    I have a Windows 2008 server with two IP addresses assigned to a single NIC. The DNS settings are setup to register the connections's addresses on the DNS server. nslookup shows both IP addresses for the server name. How is name resolution done in this case, i.e. which IP address does the DNS server return for a host lookup? Or does it return both, and the client selects one of the addresses?

I know how to do this through another language, but I'm using SQL Server 2008 with Microsoft SQL Server Manager and it would save me some time from figuring out how to do it through C#.

It's DataNavigateUrlFormatString property is set to View.aspx?id={0}&isTechnical={1} Select command of appropriate SqlDataSource returns columns of type INT and BYTE (from SQL Server 2008). So displayed string becomes something like View.aspx?id=1&isTechnical=1. But I want to display isTechnical=true|False, i.e. Convert.ToBoolean(row["isTechnical"]).ToString().ToLowerInvariant(). How to implement such conversion in page markup?

    I want to implement a UAC prompt for an application in visualc++ the operating system is 32bit x7460(2processor) Windowsserver 2008 the exe is myproject.exe through manifest.. In Properties, select Manifest Tool, and then select Input and Output. 4. Add in the name of your application manifest file under Additional manifest files. 5. Rebuild your application. But i am getting lot of Syntax errors Is there any problems in the way which i followed.If i commented the line #define MANIFEST_RESOURCE_ID 1 MANIFEST_RESOURCE_ID RT_MANIFEST "myproject.exe.manifest" which added in Myproject.h for adding values in .rc file there willnot any error other than this general error c1010070: Failed to load and parse the manifest.   • Download HTML content that require authorization?

    I use WebClient from System.Net Namespace of Visual Studio 2008 to download the HTML content. It done well with normal website but with some 4rum that require authorization such as warez-bb.org, it always return the HTML of the login page. I wonder if there is a way to send the username and password to the WebClient?
